Obama shoots, but doesn't score

Watch Obama play basketball with some UNC players.

(CNN) - Barack Obama is known for his strong basketball skills, but the Illinois senator proved no match for the UNC Tar Heels Tuesday.

Obama practiced with the team for several minutes Tuesday morning, often struggling to keep pace with the Final Four-team and failing to sink a basket - at least when the cameras were turned on.

“These guys are a lot better than me,” Obama said as he was running down the full length of the court and trying to keep pace with the Division I players, including Tyler Hansbrough, the national player of the year.

At one point, Coach Roy Williams scolded his players for not guarding the presidential candidate.

“You guys are leaving the next president of the United States wide open,” Williams joked.

Obama took a couple of shots, but neither fell through. His campaign says he did make a three-pointer after reporters were escorted off the court.

LOL... his basketball skillz are as good as his recent political skillz (Rev Wright, William Ayers, Hamas, etc).

    Hillary's full-court press is closing down Obama's b-league team!

Obama shoots but doesn't score, Obama campaign but doesn't get nominee or President. I think Obama just want people donate money but
he don't want to be a President. If he really want to be a President he have to divorce from his pastor Rev. Wrong or tell him to shut-up let me
do on my own.....I don't need your help. I think Rev. Wrong he not just damaged only Obama campaign he damaged all the black people and
all the color in this country because the race start from him. So, we must
vote for someone that going to beat McCain in general election and Obama not going to be that guy.....he not going to win in general election.

I think that it is a great use of his time! How many of those basketball players did he convince to vote for him? How many will talk to their friends about how they played ball with a presidential candidate?

Hilary talks sports while Obama plays sports with one of the most heralded programs in the land.

You can yell debate all you want. It is not going to happen before NC and IN. While you are whining about him ignoring you he is moving on to be with the people.

Very symbolic of what an Obama presidency would be like...bad shot selection, bad shots, bad execution and a whole lot of excuses!!

    Hillary in 2008!!!

Obama shouldn't be ridiculed for his poor basketball playing or his horrible bowling. He should be judged on his lack of experience and his insecure nature.

Hey CNN, why are you continuing to put the one hillary endorsement above all of the other stories that have come in after it? It keeps getting refreshed back to the top of the ticker, and the main tab on the front page. And why has the Rev. Wright story been placed strategically right under the ticker on the front page. Interesting?!?! Just one more thought... Maybe you could actually give a title for your stories that is a little less misleading in it's implications.

I think this is GREAT! We need a President who is more relatable. Not someone who is so far removed from what normal, everyday life is like.

    Go Obama!
Can wait unit May 6 in NC!

to comment to the gentleman who thinks Obama should take time to debate rather than shoot hoops......The only reason Hillary wants to debate right now....after their 22 debates....is because she is out of money and cannot afford to campaign in the remaining states. A debate is free advertising. Also because she is behind...no matter what she and her supporters spin...the facts are just plain the facts. She is behind and she won the PA primary by 9.3....Math is a fact also....not the double digits she needed. The person who is on the bottom always wants to debate because their only hope is to trash the other person. Obama doesnt need to put up with anymore juvenile trash talk , he has a country to think about.....AND....he doesnt need to give her the free advertising she so desparately needs.

I think it is important to understand and observe Obama for who HE is not what we've seen in the past. He is unlike any other candidate, from the church he goes to, to his patriotism to even the sports and music he likes. Different doesn't mean deficient. It is interesting to see this man unfold.

I also think he will be a good leader. He will at least be genuine. I am not worried about him being a rookie in the White House because he will, without a doubt have a cabinet that will help him make great decisions for this country.

  17. Hooray for Hillary!!!

He's hiding from a debate and the Wright controversy by playing basketball. Nobody's asking him any questions, so he must feel safe there.

  18. Let Wright speak

If we give Wright the stage… no one else has to say or DO anything at all.

Hate always backfires on the person who spews it.

They Kicked Hillary down and labeled her a racist… now they get to see it all come back around on them.

Obama is the sleaziest Politician this country has ever seen.

A presidential candidate has to have priorities especially when his campaign is falling apart. Obama doesn't really seem to care. I think even he knows he's done.

CNN I expect nothing more from you! Main stream news has become a joke and there is alot of resentment and frustration growing as the days go by. Why do you not report the news?? Instead your news station has become like Entertainment Tonight or something. You always seem to be looking for the next big scandal, or the story of the day. The frustration and resentment that is building towards the MSM i am afraid will continue with non stories like this. It will soon get to a point where there is a revolution against the MSM, maybe not tommorow but soon if this continues. You may have alot of power right now to push your lopsided agendas but soon if it continues YOUR chickens will come home to roost.

National Press Club president Sylvia Smith responded today to a Daily News article reporting that club member Barbara Reynolds, a Hillary Clinton supporter, organized yesterday's breakfast talk with Dr. Jeremiah Wright Jr.

Smith said by phone this morning that she still doesn't know if Reynolds supports Clinton, and doesn't care either way.

"Reverend Wright is newsworthy, period," Smith said.

But Wright wasn't as newsworthy two years ago when Reynolds first pitched Barack Obama's controversial pastor as a potential speaker for the press club, according to Smith.

At that time, the speaker's committee–of which Reynolds is now a part of, but wasn't at the time–didn't move forward with selecting Wright.

"He wasn't newsworthy then in the broader context," Smith said.
