Poll of polls: Obama losing ground

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption=" Obama now leads Clinton by 1 point nationally."]

(CNN) - The Democratic presidential race is tightening nationally, according to a new CNN average of several recent polls.

Obama's lead is now down to 1 point over Clinton nationwide, 45 percent to 44 percent, in CNN's "poll of polls." That margin is down 3 points from another CNN poll of polls conducted two days ago. In that analysis, Obama led Clinton 47 percent to 43 percent. The margin is also considerably lower than an April 18 poll of polls that showed Obama with an 11 point lead.

The poll of polls consists of three newly released national polls from Fox News/Opinion Dynamics, Gallup, and Newsweek. There is no margin of error on the poll of polls.

Both the Fox News poll and the Gallup poll were conducted partially after Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, made a fresh round of controversial comments earlier this week.

The Fox News poll also appears to show Obama no longer has an edge over Clinton among independent voters. In head-to-head match ups, presumptive Republican nominee John McCain wins independents by a 4 point margin over Clinton (42-38 percent) and by a 10 points over Obama (47 percent to 37 percent).

The guy Roland Martin really has turned me off! He is not qualified to be a CNN commentator along with the curly haired woman.. ( sorry.. forget her name). They both are nothing, but Obama sweet talk! Obama has been sitting in the church for 20 years or has he been skipping church for 20 years????????

  3. Know what do you say!!!

This was bound to happen sooner or later. Obama has never had any backbone. Don't feel bad, it's really not his time. He won't lose anything, he'll get stronger in time. Don't badger anyone of the candidates anymore. Maybe Clinton will ask him to be her running mate. Let time heal all wounds. It's wasn't all Rev. Wright, or the news media, or Mrs. Clinton, or Mr. Bill, actually it was partly because of you bloggers and your hateful comments. You see, you always get paid back in the end. NOW SUFFER!!!!!!!!

Obama will be ok.. God is on his side.

Hey did you find out who was stealing money from his campaign.. Now that is news.

Did you write anything up on the Peter Paul Case. It appears that Billary will be going to trial real soon. Now that news!

I have family members that have never been polled, that have had the same number for 40 yrs plus, same address and same city/state

    Who are they polling??

I am so sick of Polls. Because as an example, I have never been polled, and I'm home all day in a Wheel Chair. Same number for 52 yrs. same address, and better yet, I am 71 yrs old.

I can't understand it. Clinton is so crafty and powerful that every ill that befalls Barack Oboma was initiated by her campaign. Even when those ills originate with something Oboma or his supporters said or did. According to some. How then did she ever lose a primary?

This is just the beginning. Republicans are going to make the laundry list of controversial things Michelle has said and wrote over the years an issue. She will prove a bit harder than the good Reverand to spin.

Face the facts if the media would not have came after Hillary in the beginning, this thing would be rapped up and she would be the nominee. Know that they are covering the candidates fairly the true winner is emerging. Obama campaign was good, he stays positive and let other talk negative and defend him, leaving him clean. Now one of his chickens(Rev Wrigh) has bit him in the behind. And now people are starting to see the true Obama. A man who can't even handle a 20 YEAR friend. What make you think he can handle any of Americas problem, Obama is a good speaker but his time is not now. He might be ready to be VP, but not President we've had speakers before.

One other thing too Barack; Blacks will always support you, we love bandwagons (Bush, Abortion & Gay Marriage remember how we put him in office) and now we're kicking ourselves in the behind for that. Rev Wright has given the RNC all they need to defeat you. If you really care about America think about that. We can not afford to loss too them and you and your friend of 20 YEARS have given them the way.

Remember the media's report on the polls before the New Hampshire primary where Obama was ahead by double digits yet Hillary won NH. At that time the Hillary camp was stating that polls mean nothing. Even all the media excalimed the next day that they could not depend on polls. Now you are saying (as is the Hillary camp) that these polls mean something and are accurate? Give us a break.

How many times does it have to be said "Obama can't win after Rev. Wright." Hillary has to get the nomination or Democrats loose.

Ah Ha H a Ha Ha

Look at the Hillary Fanatics trying to punce on anything they can. How desperate.....

Clinton can not win by the popular vote or by Superdelegates.
The numbers just are not there.

Lie Carl Rove said, she has no way of becomming the Nominee.

So let the Hillary Sheep keep cowarding down to her and following her.

In the mean time Hillary is Charging the Secret Service $10,000.00 a month for staying in their little guest house on their ESTATE and providing them protection.

Guess what Hillary's Estate Payment is.
You guessed it $10,000.00 A MONTH

Hillary and Bill made 109 Millon and are having thier $10,000.00 a Month Mansion payment made by American Tax Payers.

So you Hillary Supporters keep working those low paying crappy jobs, cause Hillary want's another $10,000.00 Mansion Payment.

My God, Americans are so stupid. I blame it all on the likes of ABC, MSNBC, FOX, CNN etc... not one of them actually reports news! For real news you should try the BBC world news or CBC, something other than the crap they show in this country.

It's time for nObama to quit splitting the Democrats!

It's time for him to go back to Chicago where he can sit with his crazy ol uncle Jerimiah, Louis Farrakhan and Malik Shabazz and talk their back room Anti American, black liberation crap!

Hillary Clinton or John McCain on their worst day is far far better than Barack Obama.

Hey Barack, you can fool some of the people some of the time but you'll never fool enough people to be nominated to the highest office in our land...NO WAY, BABY!

And as for the super delegates, just wait...they will be dropping off the nObama bandwagon like fleas off a dead dog.

    Clinton or McCain 2008!

  15. Obama Won Texas

Am I the only one who is tired of watching this election and how long it has dragged on? At this point I could really care less about who wins because whoever becomes president will have little effect on how I live my life. I'm tired of the lies, the corruption and dirty politics.. I have four children who I have to seperate when they fight – somebody needs to seperate these candidates and tell them to act like adults. It's no wonder the rest of the world laughs at America when they see the potential leaders of our country act so childish!

Clintonites think voting for Hillary is "voting smart"? Um, no. It's called voting out of fear. Everytime the democrats vote out of fear, they lose. Obama is a good canidate, maybe the best the dems have had in years. It's time to look past skin color, someone's middle name, and stupid non-issues like someone's former pastor and start standing up for what's good again. All this race baiting drama the media is stirring up is disgusting. Enough.

    Are you guys kidding me?
Do you know the dirt that will be thrown at her if she becomes the nominee?

The world has really gone upside down and everybody is crazy, or maybe I'm the crazy one.

After Obama wins Indiana and North Carolina whose voters are not as gullible as the folk in PA. Then all the polls and media will do yet another about face and be back on the Obama band wagon. The Hillary monster can fool some of the people some of the time but she can not fool any people with half a brain any of the time.

    To Lucky in Iowa:

You say you're voting for Obama, but Iowa has already voted. You won't be voting for him again unless he's the nominee, which is not going to happen now. The Democrats want to win the white house. They will be nominating Hillary. Perhaps, if Obama plays well from here on out Hillary will let him be VP.
