Huffington: Clinton using Rove tactics against Obama

(CNN) – Arianna Huffington, Editor-in-Chief of the Huffingtonpost.com and author of a new book, didn’t pull any punches in assessing the 2008 presidential race.
Sen. Hillary Clinton “has really taken a page out of Karl Rove’s playbook when it comes to her advertising especially,” Huffington told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Friday.
Huffington compared Clinton’s “3 a.m.” ad to advertising against Sen. John Kerry orchestrated by Rove during President Bush’s 2004 re-election bid. “The assumption was that if people elected Obama they would not be as safe as if they elected her.” “Their children would not be as safe,” added Huffington.
“And then on the eve of the Pennsylvania primary, we had the Osama ad appear,” Huffington said, refererring to a Clinton campaign ad that contained an image of Osama bin Laden, the alleged mastermind of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
“It is a very powerful image in America,” Huffington said of the bin Laden image. “Every election after 9-11 is going to be a national security election and manipulating the electorate’s fear has been key to the re-election of George Bush,” she added.
Huffington, the founder of the popular liberal news and commentary website, also shared her views on Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama, on the way the media is covering the Iraq war, and on “the extreme right of the Republican Party.” “Right is Wrong,” Huffington’s new book, was released recently.

Boooooh. Are you scared? Are you afraid the "terrorists" are going to come get us? Are you afraid to fly on a plane? Are illegal immigrants going to take your job? Fear, fear, fear, and more fear. The Bush administration and Republicans have been drilling that into people's heads for the last 7 years and now Hillary is trying to take advantage of scared Americans by using these same fear tactics. Just look at her most famous ads. They are completely based on fear because Hillary knows there are a lot of scared people out there. She's preying on their fears.
Wake up people, there have always been dangers in our world. Always. There have always been murderers, terrorists, gangs, drugs and the list goes on. But today people are more afraid than ever. Why? Because it has been forced down your throat through the media and Bush administration. Get over it. People who make decisions based on fear are making bad decisions. They are not thinking clearly. Wake up!
I gave up on Hillary early on in her campaign, it has turned in to a disgusting spectacle, and no doubt the Democratic party will pay a price for her negativity and lies.
I wouldn't vote for her, even if she paid me, and frankly I believe she would stoop that low.

Obama;s voting record shows that he is the most liberal senator in the senate. This is why Ted Kennedy has backed him. This is why HUffington backs him.
To the person who posted Hope vs Fear. Get real. Lets talk issues not emotions. People have a right to be afraid of Obama winning the Presidency. He is so liberal our debt will triple.
Look at their records. Clinton has worked across the isles a lot more than Obama. Obama voted 97% with the Dems in the US Senate. I can't remember Clinton's numbers exactly and I don't want to misrepresent the facts so I will just say that her percentage of party votes was much lower.
Obama is too inexperienced to handle the stress of not having things go his way in the debates so he refuses to have any more. How is he going to handle meeting with world leaders who will disagree with him?
I will not vote for this man and his color has nothing to do with it. I will vote for McCain depending on his VP otherwise I will not vote. I think they call that voting "present" in the senate.

If the Clintons were truly Democrats The Huffington Post would not be focusing on them – but anyone with ears and eyes can see that Billary is just a Republican in a pantsuit. Huffington Post is must reading in my view – I can't wait to read the book. It's one of the few places that doesn't buy into the spin the other media outlets keep feeding the public.
