Schneider: Did 'Operation Chaos' succeed in Indiana?

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/05/06/limbaugh.jpg caption=" Limbaugh’s ‘Operation Chaos’ plan was to have republican voters temporarily cross over to vote in the Democratic primary for Hillary Clinton."]
(CNN) - How big of an impact did Rush Limbaugh’s ‘Operation Chaos’ have in Indiana? Did GOP voters really cross over to create havoc in the Democratic primary by voting for Hillary Clinton, as he’d asked his listeners to do?

Roughly one in ten of the state’s Democratic primary voters were Republican - and that group did vote for Hillary Clinton, 53 to 47 percent over Barack Obama. But hold on: registered Democrats, who made up two-thirds of Tuesday’s primary voters, gave roughly the same edge to Clinton, 53 to 45 percent. Only Independents - who made up about a quarter of the electorate - voted for Obama, 53 to 47 percent.

For whatever reason, self-identified conservative voters did overwhelmingly support Clinton – two out of three cast their votes for the New York senator.

Jay....are you saying that North Carolina's black democratic voters make up 60% of the population. All voters are Americans...you sound a little bitter and racist...I'm just saying.

    Jay:

What does it say about Clinton that she can't attract the black vote? The answer: She has a problem now and it will come back to haunt her if she is the nominee. THE TRUTH: She won't be able to beat McCain without the black vote.

If the state is more white than black, what do you say to the whites who voted for Obama? YOU DID A BAD THING. Get real.

It is funny how Hillary supporters are making the same argument of blacks voting overwhelmingly for Obama that the repubs make when blacks vote 90 to 10 for the democrat. Hillary does not like this, but without the black vote a democrat can never get elected in this country.

    Hey Jay

Sen. Obama also won 33% of the white voters in NC. He has also won some 18 or so predominately white states like Maine , Wyoming, and Iowa. Their seems to be a lot of non-racist white voters in this great country. The media paints this as an issue of race , but it is equally about gender.

    Go Obama / Edwards 08

    Jay:

...you're just sayin' you're a racist? Just because someone is black and votes for another black person doesn't make them racist. Would you call white Hillary supporters racist? I think one could just as easily frame it that way.

Honestly, before you drop that race baiting nonsense, just think twice in the future.

Listen all. We have a mix raced man who happens to be black so understand why the AA community feel the need to vote for him because he is qualified. Common people we had white men all along so allow the AA to be excited about Obama. And no it is not a racial thing but a thing of PRIDE and the good WHITE people of this country all know this.

Oh! by the way who said Obama is BLACK? Is he black? Is he?

The Party is split right down the middle

Affluent, Black, College educated vote for Obama

Blue Collar, Women, Hispanics, Asians, vote for Hillary

IF YOU COUNT FL and MI giving Obama 40% of MI for the sake of argument

    Clinton 1817 Delegates
    Obama 1896 Delegates

The party is split.....A JOINT TICKET WILL HEAL THE PARTY!!!

But there are still more contests to go....the voters Obama cannot pick up will vote for McCain....and McCain will win the General, and Obama will be saying "coulda, shoulda, woulda"

Well I hope that if Florida and Michigan are not counted in the Democratic Party Election....that all the Democratic voters within those states vote Republican. I think the Democratic party is cutting their nose off to spite their face.

  18. Hillary has serious issues

Hillary is the Rep's dream candidate. You know, I don't like McCain or his party's politics, but he's a much straighter shooter. Hillary both sickens me with her sense of entitlement, use of racism and fear, and willingness to swing the way the polls tell her at the moment. She's a loose cannon and something to be feared, herself.

  19. Change

Sen. Obama plays by the rules, something Hillary cannot do. Any candidate that could completely recover after the past 3 weeks Obama has had to, is without a doubt worth the effort. Dem Superdelegates need to come out NOW for Sen.Obama before Billary destroys the party.

Is that because Republicans think that McCain can beat Clinton in the general election? Rush could not possibly want Hill and Bill back in the White House.....

  22. marge

Noooo, rather they know the can count on Hillary to continue to play attack politics and further divide the party.....We already have non-thinkers that are saying if Hill doesn't win (which she won't) they would vote for Mccain.....the more she attacks the Dems nominee BARAK OBAMA (is his name) the more she gives the GOP to use against him in the fall.
Hey!!! The GOP can count, THEY know Hill doesn't have a chance of getting the Dems nomination.....NOT A FREAKING CHANCE!!!!!!!

Karen from va you nailed it! True Obama gets a lot of converts from the republican camp but they do that with good intentions. Most of those voting for Clinton are either trying to put Democrats in a deadlock or are are dumb enough to actually believe anything Hillary says. It would have been way easy for Obaa to support the tax holiday but no he wants to do this thing right and deliver the goods for the good citizents of America.

The media has made this a black and white issue Hillary Clinton lost African American votes and Barack Obama won them by his plan, his integrity, and how he has run his campaign!

By the way, if roughly 13% of the US population is African American even if everyone was of voting age and voted for Obama, he would not be winning. NC is not 100% African American, and even in PA and OH, Hillary won by only 9.2 and around 10%. Somebody OTHER than African Americans are voting for Obama!
