Sources: Clinton supporter pressures Pelosi

Sources say Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut contributions to congressional Democrats.

Sources say Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut contributions to congressional Democrats.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Hillary Clinton supporter Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut off contributions to congressional Democrats unless House Speaker Nancy Pelosi embraced his plan to finance revotes in Florida and Michigan, three officials familiar with their conversation said.

Weinstein and Pelosi talked on the phone late last month, the sources said.

The three officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly about the conversation.

They said Weinstein, a top supporter of Clinton's presidential campaign, appeared determined to buy Clinton more time in her battle against Sen. Barack Obama by pushing for the revote. He was also pressing Pelosi to back off her previous comments that superdelegates should support the candidate who's leading in pledged delegates in early June, the sources said.

Why should Obama be denied what he has earned fairly, just because Clinton and her supporters feel that she is entitled to be president, because she is riding off the coat tails of her husband. Why didn't Hillary protest or even file a law suit against the DNC a year and half ago before signing that form stating that the votes and delegates would not count or be seated at the convention, this question should be answered and explained by Hillary to her supporters, why she signed and sit by and allowed it and never spoke up before for those voters and delegates, until now only because she needs those delegates in order to try to compete with Obama now. How come when she was in the leader spot those votes & delegates didn't matter but , now they are so deserving of being heard. She says in front of cameras that she will support the Dem candidate who wins but that only apply if shes the winner!!!!!!!!

I think he is right on!!!!! If the American people had known all the information they know now, Obama would not even be ahead.
No state should not be able to have their votes count, no matter what.
Is Pelosi jealous of Clinton or something, does she want to be President. Typical women jealous of women stuff if you ask me.

Just another example of how lobbyists think they can control our government! I understand Hillary's side of this issue, but she agreed to the rules too. I am just frustrated that she wants to change them now. You can not change the rules in the middle of the game. It is unfair.

Ok, now I am really going to puke.
So Hillary has her "people" making threats?
MI and FL BROKE THE RULES that Hillary supported in the beginning! They are paying the consequences for breaking those rules!
Now that she is desperate for votes, she swings back on her words just so she can benefit. How lame and shameful! No self-respect

I will not vote for a Democrat if the report is true. Hollywood buying the access with their filthy money will be a great story for the Dems.

I call for all Democrat supporters to voice our distain on this practice. Write your letters to blogs, to media, and to Pelosi, tell them we will not vote for a Dem if Pelosi indeed cave to the pressure.

This goes to show how weak the DNC heads are money is not all Hill have already sold her soul and Pelosi, no wonder people are relunctant for a woman president they are too week, they bow to pressure. If Clinton and her wealthy cronies special interest think for a second that they can use there money to get this nomination to go there way they have another guess coming.

Whatever you are destined for you will have to get and Barak was destined to be president. Put that in your pike and smoke it.

I'm not sure what to call this, but I find it highly improper when a supporter attempts to buy off a politician to changer her position.

Weinstein and the others should be ashamed of themselves.

Good for Pelosi for standing up for herself. I hope Clinton has the courage to contact these supporters and demand they stop their improper behavior.

This stinks to high heaven! Threats of withholding money unless the DNC and Pelosi change the democratic rules to put Clinton in the White is the typical approach of well funded elitists who put their interests ahead of all the American people who aren't like them, RICH.

Don't sell us out Ms. Pelosi!!!

This makes me sick to the stomach! This is what makes Obama look so much better. Washington politics is all about money, connections and white hall impudence. Controll and manipulation is all that the Washington politicians think of! What about the American people? Do they matter! This reaks of bad politics like those found in Zimbabwe! No better. Had this happened by the Obama camp, we would have had Fox news and CNN forking out blasphemous headlines...but it is a Clinton...they never lose! What a shame !

Why don't "Keep your money Harvey" and others actually read the rules? A fair and timely vote could have been organized weeks ago, and the Party leadership knows that. Voters in Florida and Michigan, as well as Clinton supporters across the country would like to know why they haven't done so!
