McAuliffe says Clinton staying in, will win popular vote

McAuliffe said Clinton is in the race through June 3.

McAuliffe said Clinton is in the race through June 3.

(CNN) - Despite calls from some for Hillary Clinton to abandon her presidential bid, her campaign chairman insisted Monday she will stay in the race until the last primary and predicted the New York Democrat will overtake Barack Obama in the popular vote.

“We are going through to June 3," Clinton Campaign Chairman Terry McAuliffe said on MSNBC Monday. "I can unequivocally tell you we are in until June 3.”

“We will move ahead in the popular vote. There are 1.1 million Democrats in West Virginia, there are 1.6 million in Kentucky, 2.4 million in Puerto Rico. We win by these huge margins, have good turnout there, we will pick up a significant amount of the popular vote."

Polls show Clinton will likely score big wins in the next two primary states, West Virginia and Kentucky, though it remains virtually impossible for the New York senator to catch Obama in the pledged delegate count. She lost her lead among the party’s superdelegates on Monday.

Montana and South Dakota hold the last two primary contests on June 3.

23 senators had voted against the 'authorization' resolution, these 23 senators opposed Iraq war. The senators that voted 'yes', and Hillary is one of them (McBush too), should not have any moral right to run for an office or serve government. Well, may be except jail time work.

Make people a little more educated, and the voters base for Bush and Clinton will just disappear. Those are the people easy to cheat – low educated blue collars.

    Hillary:

Stop behaving like a spoiled child! You know as well as we all know that you absolutely cannot win this. But yet your ego continues to take precedent over the people in this country who desparately need a Democrat elected in the Fall. You are not entitled to this nomination...the people have spoken LOUD & CLEAR...we don't want you. What a complete disgrace your legacy will be!!!
IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU WIN ALL OF THE REMAINING PRIMARIES (which you will not!) YOU CANNOT WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Shut UP!!!

McAuliffe is such a BLOW HARD, and a TOOL. Honestly, there is nobody that likes the BS that spews from his mouth except him. This poor excuse was hoping for the VP slot and didn't get, now he has buyers remorse and can't seem to understand what went wrong. I truly wish he continues to talk though, it only solidifies the fact that he is nothing but hot air.

It's the Electoral College stupid! Obama can't defeat McCain in the key swing states of OH, PA, and FL b/c the demographics in those states have proved they don't want to vote for him

The ethical thing to do is to wait until the primaries are over. Just think about it....if Indiana and North Carolina were the last primaries to be held, then the discussion would be different. People talk about there will be a huge riot by the Blacks if Obama is defeated....do they want this election at all costs? Whatever happened to our democracy. How dare the Super Delegates and the media decide who they want for President, and discount the voters. We do not like that, and if the Democrats don't want to lose a huge amount of their voters, they'd better pay attention to what the voters want. We do not want somebody pushed down our throat.

We know only the delegate count and nothing else...Let Hillary gets the 5 million remaining democrats. Sorry first lady...game is over.

Obama already stopped compaigning for the primary and he did not compaign in W Va. Obama is going to give all 28 delegates from WV to Hillary. He is concentrating on the general election against McSame.

    See you in 2016 Hillary
