Hillary Clinton chokes up in CNN interview

Watch a clip of Wolf Blitzer's interview with Sen. Clinton.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Hillary Clinton choked up Wednesday as she told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that her daughter's presence on the campaign trail had been one of the "most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life."

"Well, it's one of the most incredibly gratifying experiences of my life, as a person and as a mother. I get very emotional," she said. "She is an exceptional person, and she's worked so hard, and she's done such a good job that I'm just filled with pride every time I look at her.

"Obviously, we are very close. We are in communication all the time. But she is doing this because she believes I'd be a good president, but also because she cares so much about our country's future. She did grow up in the White House. She knows what a difference a president makes. If anybody ever doubted what difference a president makes, after seven years of George Bush, I think the doubts should be put to rest.

"So she's doing it because she's my daughter, but she's doing it because, as she says, she's a young American who cares about our future."

Chelsea Clinton, who has been a constant presence on the trail this cycle, was in Puerto Rico Wednesday in advance of the territory's June 1 primary.

Watch Wolf Blitzer's interview with Hillary Clinton at 4 and 6 p.m. ET on CNN's The Situation Room.

The Obama Zombies are out in full force. Can't you give the lady a break. She lost and now the Holier Than Thou Obama crowd has to rub it in. No wonder people who actually have kitchen table issues won't vote for Obama and his ilk. They can spot pompous elitists, a la Dukakis and Kerry, a mile away.

I am a huge obama supporter...

so she had a moment regarding her daughter, as any proud parent would.

let's not get nasty on this one.... Please...

    please, let's not crucify her....

This woman is a DISGRACE to our gender!

Crocodile tears again is it, Hillary?

Tell me, Wolf, did she actually shed a tear this time?

It's time for this woman to retire. No one wants a 'cry baby' in the White House.

Can't get your 'own' way, Hillary? Cry us a river!!!

Hey, fellow Obama supporters...knock it off!

If you remember the Clinton presidency, those two vehemently protected Chelsea. They absolutely do love her. I doubt those tears are fake.

Plus...Hillary just said that it would be a mistake for any of her supporters to vote for McCain. She's coming around. We have to welcome her with open arms.

Speaking of which, she's always armed for bear. It'd be great to have her on our side.

I'm an Obama supporter and I too think it's great to be proud of your children, as am I. I'm not running for president of the United States so I will feel at liberty to shed a tear or two, but Hilary.... please stop crying. We never saw you shed a tear when Bill was messing around with his office buddy.... Turn off the water works.... please.

As a mother and a daughter, I get emotional when my daughters are openly proud of me. I also find it especially gratifying when my mom speaks highly of me. I think HIllary is a real person....would be incredible to me if she weren't emotional regarding the efforts that Chelsea has made on her behalf.

and btw, a gimmick is something that is promising on the outside but little real substance... sounds like obama to me...

You folks are plain crazy! Is there any sane person who believes that Hillary doesn't care about her daughter and would therefore get legitimately choked up talking about her.

.....or maybe she's doing it because since you leftthe White House, you've been able to rake in 109 Million bucks and she is somehow now qualified to manage a hedge fund.

i think those crocodile tears are pathetic.

We really appreciate the great mother-daughter bond and the daughter's probable caring for the USA. Most mothers and daughters among us know about that.

Still, on almost all counts from Integrity to Electibility, OBAMA is still by far the best President the USA can hope to have for a long time to come. This should be mightily CLEAR to everybody.

I am sorry to say this but, that Mrs. Clinton was not presidential, or even vice-presidential, material was clear to many, including me, long before she announced her candidacy. During her campaign she only gave us conclusive proof.
