Biden calls Bush comments 'bulls**t'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/05/15/art.biden.gi.jpg caption="Biden had some strong words for the president."](CNN) - The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Joe Biden, D-Delaware, called President Bush’s comments accusing Sen. Barack Obama and other Democrats of wanting to appease terrorists "bulls**t” and said if the president disagrees so strongly with the idea of talking to Iran then he needs to fire his secretaries of State and Defense, both of whom Biden said have pushed to sit down with the Iranians.

“This is bullshit. This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset…and make this kind of ridiculous statement,” Biden said angrily in a brief interview just off the Senate floor.

“He’s the guy who’s weakened us. He’s the guy that’s increased the number of terrorists in the world. His policies have produced this vulnerability the United States has. His intelligence community pointed that out not me. The NIE has pointed that out and what are you talking about, is he going to fire Condi Rice? Condi Rice has talked about the need to sit down. So his first two appeasers are Rice and Gates. I hope he comes home and does something.”

He quoted Gates saying Wednesday that we “need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them.”

This is almost too funny to be real politics!!

Why do our leaders go abroad and criticize their opponents, or in the case of the the Finance Secretary, our policies and economy.

    I don't get it.

George W. Bush has undeniably added thousands to the terrorists, by invading Iraq! The intelligence failure that resulted in 9-1-1 occurred on his watch, thousands more have lost their lives as a direct result of his war in iraq, that he lied to get us into, and congress was stupid enough to support! To say nothing of the tens of thousands of ruined american lives of the wounded. He has supported kidnapping (rendition), torture, illegal detention, illegal snooping into the private lives of citizens, etc. As sooon as he is out of office, he should be arrested and tried for crimes against humanity.

Sen, dont forget those neocons who surround Pres Bush – like Bill Kristol, even John Hagee – they are the ones responsible for misleading Bush into the war. Now they are aiming at Iran.....Bush is to be blamed to the extent he has surrounded himself by yes-men and turned tone deaf to the American public's cries.

It's appalling that some Republicans will say anything about anybody for the sake of a percentage point. I do not blieve that any U.S. Senator of either party is an appeaser. It's disgaceful how, in the heat of a political campaign, politicians and pundits can seriously postulate that the words "treason" or "unpatriotic" could ever be applied to our legislative leaders.

Being a long time democrat I may believe Republican ideas are stupid and smplistic but I would never, ever, say these fellow americans are unpatriotic, treasonous, or appeasing our enemies.

Get real – the stakes are far too high for such foolishness.

Finally, a politician willing to tell it as it is.

There isn't enough sugar in the world to coat the unpresidential comment Bush made, so why even try?

This is the worst president ever. As a republican, we can not allow or endorse our president speaking half truths about another political party in our country around the world. Isn't this, politics at the worst level. He seems like a 1st term politician at the county level smearing an opponent. Wow, this should be beneath you Mr. Bush, but I guess it is not. For once I agree with you Mr. Biden the democrat. If our guy Mccain does not come out and disagree with Bush then I have a choice to either vote for the dem or not vote for a Bush flunky. I voted for Bush and I have been ashamed for the past few years. Burn me once but I will not be burned again. Show some balls Mccain and slam this rhetoric and bring honor back.

Senator Biden has no reason to be upset with the President for His childish comment he made in Israel. If Democrats had the balls to stand up against this administration, President Bush and Dick Chenney whould have been impeached and long gone.

The Democratic Congress has nobody to blame but themselves. They are as responsible as the Republican for the failure of this great Nation under this administration. Shame on all of them!
