Ferraro suggests she may not vote for Obama

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption=" Ferraro is a supporter of Clinton's presidential campaign."](CNN) - Geraldine Ferraro, the outspoken former Democratic vice presidential candidate and a supporter of Hillary Clinton's White House bid, told the New York Times she may not vote for Barack Obama should he be the party's nominee.

Ferraro, a former member of Clinton's finance committee who resigned that post earlier this year after making comments many viewed as racially offensive, also said she thinks the Illinois senator has been "terribly sexist" over the course of the presidential campaign.

The comments appear to underscore the potential difficulty Obama may have courting some women voters in the fall - many of whom have said they feel a solidarity with the New York senator over the barriers Clinton faces in her bid to become the first female president.

Ferraro has not shied away from discussing the impact of race and gender throughout the Democratic presidential campaign. In March, the former congresswoman told a California newspaper the chief reason Obama's candidacy was successful was because he was black.

"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position," she told The Daily Breeze. "And if he was a woman, he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."

Ferraro also said Clinton had been the victim of a "sexist media."

Obama later called those comments "ridiculous," and Clinton said she disagreed with them.

Ferraro maintained her comments were not racist, but ultimately resigned from the Clinton campaign after they caused an uproar.

"The Obama campaign is attacking me to hurt you. I won't let that happen," she wrote in her resignation letter to Clinton, adding, "I am who I am and I will continue to speak up."

I am with you Geraldine. If they really looked at this race truthfully, they will come to realize just how fearful the media is to say anything that is truthful against obama because they fear being called a racist, so they do everything to promote me to try to prove they arent racist. they never gave or will hillary the equal treatment, they dont fear women nor do they want one in the white house leading the nation no matter how much more powerful and successful she would be over obama or any man for that matter. men have always been in power and will never let a woman show them up. this nation needs to wake up and smell the coffee or be blinded forever!

Holly cow..........left wing liberals have no idea how hurt a lot of democrats are? Obama beating Hillary would have been ok, had they handled the situation better.
All the caucus states were hijacked by left wingers. Media (such as Tim Russert, Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Campbell Brown, Ronald Martin) were basically pro Obama attack dogs attacking Hillary's character from the very beginning.
HRC did not attack Obama first. She was forced to attack Obama when OB and Edwards ganged up on her with the media. Whenever she attacked back media and some black leaders like Clyburn attacked even Bill Clinton to be racist. Bill Clinton, a racist? Give me a break.
The ramification of that is millions like JD ferraro are so angry at these pro Obama attack dogs that they may never vote for Obama again.
If that happens I will blame the media except for the fair ones.
There were some fair reporters such as Anderson Cooper, David Gergen, Wolf Blitzer, Larry King, Dan Abrams,

Who gives a rats behind if she votes for him or not. Take your old, tired, racist commenting behind somewhere and shut the hell up.

Ferraro has issues, so who cares what she does. Clinton's lost is due to poor strategy not anything else. Obama will win in the fall. This country is ready for change. There are some strong feelings now however most dems will come home. This useless statement by Ferraro is just another sad and low point in this election cycle.

Why do you Obama Freaks think that just because we say we are not going to Vote Obama then we are not Democrats? We might lean to one party but do not have to vote that way? Why is ok for you to say Reb. are going to vote for Obama? Then they are not real Reps???

Are you that scared to know that Obama will not have all of Hillarys supporters? Better come to terms with it now beofre November!

I won't be voting for Mr. Obama either. Why should I? He has absolutely no experience and I feel sure he will be headed back to Chicago after November. He and his campaign should never utter the word racist after he participated in what has to be one of the largest racist churches in the country!

How dumb can Obama supporters be? Don't they realize that the only thing keeping Al Qaeda from blowing up our schools, malls, subways, etc: is American troops keeping Al Qaeda pinned down and running for their lives in Iraq and elsewhere.

Bring the troops home from Iraq and Al Qaeda will be right behind them. You'll rue the day.

  9. Let's win this thing

I don't understand why anyone who claims to be a democrat would not vote for Obama once this primary is over. I mean face it, he won. Even with FL and MI he still has the nomination so get over it. He didn't steal anything. Clinton underestimated his campaign strength and lost. Now her supporters are bitter and want to strip him of the nomination. Hillary is a strong, respectable woman with an extremely bright political future. I truly hope that she doesn't sink to the level that her supporters continue to sink to.

This old bag of bones Ferraro needs to sit down. No one thought of bringing her out her casket again so she rose from the dead to spew more venom. Sexist how? Because he doesn't bow down to dirtbags like you? Gerald or Geraldine (not sure which you were before sex change) GO SIT YOUR TIRED OLD SELF DOWN!!!

Ferraro is exactly the "CHANGE" that Obama is talking about in Washington. People always fear change when they are set in their old ways. So out with old and in with the new.

Linda and others who want to write in,

What will that accomplish? Will that end our war? Will that bring our soldiers home so that they can attend to their families? Will that fix our economy and foreclosures.

Obama and Clinton have the same issue and task. It does not matter which one takes the office, they will do the same thing.

Put all hate aside and think about the country. Writing in does not accomplish anything.

    Bye, bye,

PLEASE, Ferraro stop mixing Geratol & Midol with your Prozac it is making you irritable. You are a non-issue and your opinion has little validity.

You have been in the game long enough to recognize the importance of voting for your party, even if you delusionally disagree with it's candidate.

Saying that Obama would not be where he is at if he were white shows you for the racist you are. This man has managed to inspire an entire new geeneration and some old Independent voters like myself, and I have to thank and congratulate him on that. I actually feel something I haven't felt in a long time, HOPE.

Hope for a better world, hope that we can make a positive impact as a Nation, hope the my vote will be counted, hope that my voice will be heard, hope for change. None of this has anything to do with the color of his skin or the fact that he is male.

You were/are a non-issue and only serve to further disgrace yourself by opening your mouth. Please go away, Hillary does not need a mouthpiece, she does a good job of that all by herself.

GF sounds rather precipitous and hysterical to me. Not outspoken so much as can't shut up. If Barack Obama was not in the race, a lot of old school politicos, such as GF and on and on would have been very happy with just Hillary Clinton and the husband back in the White House laughing at all of you!! . They would have been thrilled and would also have sliced and diced whoever the opposition might have been in the old fashioned and ususal way. But, GF, it IS different, Barack Obama IS in the race and he is also winning and a whole new game plan will be in effect. It is not the year of the woman it is the year of change in the course of "politics as usual". Wait and see. And who cares who you vote for, keep squeaking out your litrtle opposing thoughts as if they counted.

Perhaps you could join CN's new policy of hinting at the news until it is time to turn the lights out, or listening to Cameron Brown drone on and on, likewise Wolf, what is it with the new way of the super tease sound bites, then nothing new anyway. Other stations are beating you out Wolf. Send Lou there also and a few of the crepe hangers on the "panel", except Gloria Borger, Roland Martin and John King and
very few others. I do wish John King would slow down just a ittle.

Shame on you Geraldine Ferraro!!! You should be kicked out of the party for supporting John McSame over Obama. Ferraro obviously cares less about the issues and more about getting her name in the news.

When has Obama been sexist? She knew by coming out and saying this it would draw huge attention. I guess beating a woman fair and square when she’s throwing the kitchen sink at you and you don’t throw it back means that you are a sexist. Of course Republicans care about women and there rights so much so have fun over the next four years when you're picketing outside of the supreme court when those lovely republicans are appointing ultra conservative judges and overturning Row v Wade.

What a democratic traitor. And why should she care...she's rich. If a Republican gets back in the white house, it will hurt poor people more. You think McCain's policies will help single women? Total hypocrite.
