Obama hits McCain for fundraising with Bush

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) - Democrat Barack Obama Tuesday continued
his efforts to tag John McCain as a candidate with ideas no different than President Bush's.

The Illinois senator highlighted McCain's scheduled Tuesday evening closed-press fundraiser, where Bush and the presumptive Republican nominee will appear together.

"No cameras, no reporters, and we all know why," Obama said. "Sen. McCain doesn't want to be seen, hat in hand, with the president whose failed policies he promises to continue for another four years. Now the question for the American people is do we want to continue George Bush's policies?"

To this, the crowd promptly answered, "no."

Obama, though, isn't completely in the clear himself when it comes to private fundraisers. The "bitter" controversy int he wake of Pennsylvania's primary contest stemmed from comments the White House hopeful made at a closed-door event in San Francisco April 6.

McCain is trying to distance himself from Bush only in public it seems. He is buddies with him when it comes to fundraising though.

McCain is nothing more than a Haliburton/Bush/Cheney puppet.

What the hell is McCain doing with Bush?!?! I would think if he keeps his bush ties constant he will be in for a rough november for sure. I dont know why repubs main argument is Obamas weak foreign policy because to everyones knowledge Obama has avoided those recent bad calls in that sector (IRAQ) and McCain is just digging himself a deeper hole with his fluid 100 years war or did he flip flop and say victory 2013?

It is clearer now than ever: OBAMA 08!!!

CNN... What the hell do private fundraisers have to do with this story??? The story isn't about fundraisers its about McCain hiding his involvement with Bush. Stop try to bury the lead.

Obama probably should use better reasons to bash McCain on Bush fundraising for him. History showed that when Al Gore refused help from an almost impeached Bill, he lost or nearly lost the bid. McCain would be smart to accept GW's help with fundraising. McCain is also famous for working with people from another party such as Ted Kennedy so it would be uncharacteristic of him to keep Bush at a distance.

To be presidential, you have to work with all Americans, no matter if it's Bush or Hillary. Somehow, it's strange for Obama to criticize McCain for working with Bush when he said he would meet with the Iranian president alike. I thought he would be more open-minded than that.
Bush is an American after all. I would trust Bush with our White House furniture and treasure 100%, but I cannot say the same with the Clintons. I disagree with Bush on many of his policies, but he probably makes a trustworthy neighbor, especially Laura.

Obama "the point your finger and place blame candidate" with no experience or solutions of his own. Blame, blame blame........

I can tell you what Obama is going to say in his speeches before he does. " Do you want the same old Washington", "Washington is built from the bottom up not the top down". Sound Familiar?

He is all words with no substance.

Go hillary, if not Hillary go McCain.

Mccain had better prepare for a stomping this November, and he won't have anyone to blame but himself for unwisely aligning himself with bush.

Since the media is not allowed behind his 'secret' fund raising meeting with bush, we Americans will just have to make our best educated guess as to what events are taking place.

My guess is Mccain is sitting on Bush's lap (yes, like his lap dog), barking whenever bush says the phrase "they hate us for our freedom"

This guy will denigrate anybody, even his own grandmother, if he thinks it will put him a step closer to the oval office. McCain has no interest in continuing Bush's failed policies for another 4 years. This is just more crappola pouring out of Obama's mouth. And I guess, the elitist Obama learned what can happen when one swaggers around in front of supporters at a closed fundraiser, blabbing about anything that comes to mind. Or maybe not. He lied with ease today when telling that big story about how his uncle (not!) helped in the evacuation of prisoners at Auschwitz (not!), then his handler corrected it to Buchenwald and that wasn't correct either. What a mess!

McCain is a robot. Why wouldn't he follow the failed republican farce that currently lives at 1600? The past 8 years are a joke. I see the republicans getting smoked this Nov.

Iteresting that Obama is being critical of McCain for having a closed fundraiser. Didn't Obama have a closed funraiser a while back in SF? Isn't that where the 'bitter' comment came from? Obama, just like Clinton, cannot get away from his own lies and deceptions.

He is without a doubt the most inept man who has ever ran for the presidency, and we have the media falling all over themselves to help him control this country, unbelievable.

Jimmy Carter recently went to talk with Hamas leader. I wonder what he talked about behind the closed door. He now tells Sen. Clinton to get out the race.
