Obama camp uses McClellan book to attack McCain

THORNTON, Colorado (CNN) - Barack Obama's presidential campaign is using former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan's new book attacking the Bush administration to take a swipe at John McCain, connecting what Obama calls "the failed Bush policies" to the presumptive Republican nominee.

"It's not news that this Administration engaged in spin and deception to lead us into a war that should've never been authorized and never been waged," Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan said in a statement.

"The only question now is do we continue George Bush's failed policy in Iraq or do we change it? John McCain is promising four more years of the exact same policy in Iraq that asks everything of our brave troops and nothing of the Iraqi government, while Barack Obama wants to begin a phased withdrawal of our troops and refocus our efforts on going after al-Qaeda in Afghanistan."

A senior aide declined a request to make Obama himself available for an on-camera comment.

That President Bush made a fool of peace loving Americans and for that much the rest of the Western world is an under statement. Thank God the truth has finally come out. This was going to come out one way or the other anyways. McCain is as desperate to prove a point as Mrs Clinton. Has has lost the election even before is started. The just thing for him to do is to come out and say with dignity that all those who voted for the war got it wrong and say boldly to peace loving Iraqis that they ( McCain and Mrs Clinton) are sorry. The world would forgive them and life would go on. Obama would bring a wave of change and respect to the American people once again.

Sen. Obama cannot debate but he thinks he can persuade Iranian government. Men have been in the political arena for a long time, debate is part of their life. Women are still learning how to debate in the political theater and learning how to treat same sex in the different settings, but they do debate.

This is one of the biggest problem Sen. Obama faces and I hope his supporters see this seriously.

Interesting how when McCain says anything about Iraq or Obama visiting if he thinks he is going to be commander-in-chief then it's called a "political stunt." by the Obama camp. The Obamaniacs are the biggest liars and hypocrits on earth. Dirty politics covered up to look like the "new" politics. Take your sheep and go back to Chicago.

if you think G. Bush is a lame duck president then you are in for
a big surprise if Obama is elected. Obama is the (present) man
and he has no idea how too run this country. Obama has a silver
    tongue that is really split.

Take em' down Barack! Scott McClellan will be the new hero of the Democratic party. Can you imagine how awful things must have been in the GW White House? I hear George is very personable, but his arrogance and his total incompetance as a leader drives me up the wall. We should have known things were bad when Colin Powell resigned.

We were ALL led to believe that Barrack Hussein Obama did NOT support "politics as usual"… What is this???
Amazing that people even accept his lies."

Says the xenophobe who has to resort to using Obama's middle name, because obviously, anyone who is not named Bill, John, Bubba, or Joe-Bob has to be a terrorist, hell-bent on destroying America. Grow a brain.

For all the Hillary supporters who've commented on it in this section, like Brian in Knoxville, TN: If Obama is such a lightweight, why isn't he getting beaten by your "fighter?" If he can't come up with good arguments, why is she losing?

Obama's campaign continues to wage typical politics of a loser – attack, attack, attack – because he does not know the issues. Obama is so out of his element as he tries to read prepared speeches attacking McCain. Whenever Obama tries to share personal experiences he does not even know who he is, himself. Obama continues to fall in National Polls against McCain and Hillary is strengthening in the National Polls against McCain. This trend of Obama's weakness has been going on for months and Obama's campaign is trying to hide his weaknesses by continuing their relentless attacks in all 57 states, or whatever Obama thinks.

Hillary '08 or McCain will wipe out Obama in the general election – the liberal elites will display their poor judgment again, if they choose Obama for the nominee.

To all you African Americans supporting Hilliary, read the memo to the delegates. Her argument of electability does not include you, but you expect me to support her simply because she is a female.

    Dear American idiots:

Vote for McCain and keep spending Billions of dollars to clean up the mess you made in Iraq. Forget about the economy, forget about health care and forget about the Billions of dollars that have gone unaccounted for in Iraq; because it has become apparent that your own personal social insecurities are far more important than what's best for your country. I don't think any of you have fully comprehended the amount of damage your current president has done to your country. If you can't come together as a nation and start being honest about all the burdens your country is facing right now ............well, I guess you don't have anyone else to blame but yourselves.

Senator Obama is really taking advantage of this McCellen situation in attacking Senator McCain.

Is McCain even qualified to be president? I noticed he wasnt even born in the United States but rather the Panama Canal Zone. I thought one of the qualifications of being president was to be a natural born citizen. Someone should research this.

    Anthony.

It seems rather odd that a man who is increasingly relying on "modified" stories and explanations to make his points and excuses, and who has no qualms about tossing his great uncle's mental illness into the public awareness is complaining about deception and spin to achieve ends. The only change Obama brings is a new set of deceptive stories.

OBAMA CAN'T WAIT TO SURRENDER and he has no idea what is happening in Iraq. How could he? He doesn't go there and doesn't meet with the people who are there.

Obama is a total woos and appeaser. He'll sell our country to Al Qaeda for a wooden nickel. All Obamarites better learn which way Mecca is because that's where you'll be facing 5 times/day.
