Perino on McClellan

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/05/28/art.perino.gi.jpg caption="Perino expressed disappointment with McCllelan's new book."]
(CNN) - White House Press Secretary Dana Perino just released the following statement on former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan's new book.

"Scott, we now know, is disgruntled about his experience at the White House. For those of us who fully supported him, before, during and after he was press secretary, we are puzzled. It is sad – this is not the Scott we knew.

"The book, as reported by the press, has been described to the President. I do not expect a comment from him on it – he has more pressing matters than to spend time commenting on books by former staffers."

If you look at this chick, she looks like she's been puzzled way before being W.H. spokesman.

The look on her face matches the retarded look on Bush's face (him and his wife's).

I find it troubling that because McClellan decided to provide his perspecitve of the White House and its derivation of policies (which does not cast a positive light) is being called "sad" and now he is "not the Scott we knew". The more tasteful or tactful thing to do would have been to issue no response at all.

I think this guy is just trying to cover his butt, or make money?

If anything like this happened and he did not report it, come out publicly before now and before writing a book.

He is out to make money and a name for himself.

"The book, as reported by the press, has been described to the President. " – I knew he couldn't read! And with few pictures, not very interesting anyway.

I just wish the media would give as much attention to disgruntled ex-staffers of the Clintons or radical socialist friends of Obama than will be given McClellan's book.

When one is accused of a wrongdoing and does not react STRONGLY to those accusations, then it can only mean one of two things:

    1. The accusations are true and it would be difficult to refute them, or

    2. The accusations are true and any strong response only fuels the media to give this matter more public attention. Bush doesn't want McClellan's books to sell.

It is interesting to note that Perino DID NOT STATE THAT THE WHITE HOUSE DENIES the statements made in the book, but they are only confused about them!!!!

when ever a former employee anywhere says something bad against their fomrer employer, the former employee's are always tagged as "disgruntled"...why isnt the former employee ever tagged as telling the truth, we will hear from Perino when she is out of office and will say something along the same lines, she is a mouthpiece for a lying administration and the lies continue.

Am an upstate NY conservative who got a good laugh reading Perino's statement on this book release. I applaud her for performing her duties as White House Spokeswoman but the WH is really deluding themselves if they are surprised because this does not sound like the Scott they knew. How difficult is it for them to understand that people can reflect about something they participated in and maybe express some regrets about their involvement? They are trying to make him out to be a pariah because he isn't towing the party line. Some may not agree with what he did but that doesn't diminish his insight into what he saw was happening. To his credit, he is still rather protective of the President and is basically blaming the subordinates.

Remember Dana Perino didn't know what the Cuban Missile Crisis was!

Ah well, it's going to be GREAT having another four years of crooks and liars with John McCain as president!

THE TRUTH ALWAYS COME TO LIGHT THAT IS JUST A UNIVERSAL LAW. IN TIME, THAT SAME TRUTH WILL CATCH UP TO BUSH AND HIS DECEPTIVE ADMIN and they will have a heavy price to pay. MANY including COLIN POWELL new THAT this is an ADMIN that was built on lies and he has gone quiet and distanced his self from that TRAIN WRECK.

"he has more pressing matters than to spend time commenting on books by former staffers."

It's not like his "former staffer" wrote a children's book. It's a book from one of his insiders that makes some very serious allegations about his administration. That seems worthy of comment to me.

You are puzzled....really....this man didn't say anything that we didn't already know or suspect ....Obama got it right, he made the most important juggement call. McBush (I'll never surrender in Iraq) and McClinton (I will obliterate the country) got it wrong! So the choice this November will be very clear. Bush should be impeached for all the lives that were lost to this reckless war. IMPEACH HIM....NOW!!

Why "puzzled"? Are there no known remorseful Republicans in your universe? How about "disappointed" that McClellan is telling the truth as he sees it. Perhaps the thousands of lives that have been lost weights heavenly on his heart. Perhaps he's human (what a novel idea).

What a surprise, a former staffer wants to distance himself as soon as Bush becomes unpopular. Nice ploy.

well, this is an expected response from the white house. we the americans are not dumb. when Mr. Bush i am going to invade iraq because i want to strip it of its WMDs, then we send our brothers, fathers, mothers and sisters there, we find nothing but hell and death, rising oil prices, and trembling economy.

it is time for a change in the white house and i am not giving my vote to MCcain to serve a third Bush term.

    Obama or Hillary for president.
