Jimmy Carter, a superdelegate, has endorsed Obama .

(CNN) -
Former President Jimmy Carter, in a widely expected move, will endorse Barack Obama's presidential bid later Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Carter, a superdelegate who has frequently spoken favorably about Obama, told Britain’s Sky News last month that while he had not yet announced his decision publicly, after the last Democratic primary June 3, it would be time for Hillary Clinton to “give it up.”

He also said that Clinton “had a perfect right” to keep running – but that “a lot of the superdelegates will make a decision quite, announced quite rapidly, after the final primary on June 3."

The former president also told an interviewer last month that he believes Hillary Clinton would accept the vice presidential spot on the ticket, but that he did not believe such an offer would be made by Obama "because I don't see how it would help his ticket. I think he needs somebody like a [former Georgia Sen.] Sam Nunn, but I won't name others.”

Nunn, the former Georgia senator, is known for his foreign policy and national security expertise.

    WOW!

As a football coach for 19 years, one of thing I have learned is this. In every contest there is a teacher and a student. Hillary and Bill Clinton for the last 28 years have always been the teachers. However, in this contest they are they are now the students, Obama has overcame insurmountable odds. He has overcome his race, age, experience, his wired name, his religious affiliations, his gaffes and one the fiercest competitors in political history in America the Clinton Dynasty.

We must all understand that what Obama has done is just purely remarkable and should not be taken lightly. As a man of color myself I stand in awe and want to thank every American that can see beyond the outer layer of Obama and who has judged him by what’s in his heart and not by his outer layer.

To all the Hillary Clinton Supporters I hope you all can over come you disappointment and anger before November. I will be the first with my arms open and embrace all of you. I urge all of us Obama supporters to reach out to all the Clinton people and bring them in with love and understanding. Tell the Clinton supporters we need them and we can’t do it with out them. Welcome them to a new and better America and the Obama campaign that is set to lift America to a Higher Ground!

    God Bless you all!
    God Bless America!

LOL @ florida. But he still is very much respected so give him that.

I don't think it will help Obama's ticket either to have HRC as VP.. He stands for something new and fresh. I don't get that from HRC.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT TO LEARN THAT CARTER WOULD CHOOSE BO OVER SENATOR CLINTON. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THAT COULD BE. YOU, OF ALL PEOPLE, SHOULD HAVE LED THE CHARGE TO GET HILLARY SUPPORT FOR HER EFFORTS. SHE HAS OFFERED SO MUCH MORE OVER SO MANY YEARS. SHE HAS SO MUCH GOOD EXPERIENCE. HOW ON EARTH COULD YOU FEEL SO THREATENED TO HAVE A WOMAN AS LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD. YOUNGER, INEXPERIENCED AND SELF CENTERED MALES MAYBE, BUT NOT YOU. I WOULD NOT HAVE EXPECTED THAT IN A MILLION YEARS. YOU HAVE MET WITH SO MANY WORLD LEADERS. YOU KNOW THE EXPERIENCE SUCH EFFORTS REQUIRE. WHY WOULD YOU PICK A PROBIE WHO FOR 20 YEARS SUPPORTED SUCH HATE FILLED THEOLOGICAL TEACHINGS. SENATOR CLINTON HAS HAD A REMARKABLE CAREER. SHAME ON YOU.

Barack Obama won't live long if he has Hillary Clinton as a VP. Just look back into the history of people who have lost their lives dealing with the Clintons.
