NEW YORK (CNN) – Sen. Barack Obama has clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, CNN projects as polls in the South Dakota primary closed at 9 p.m. ET.
CNN still has not projected a winner in the South Dakota primary, but based on exit polls and raw vote estimates the Illinois senator will receive at least five pledged delegates from this primary, enough to put him over the top. CNN also estimates that rival Hillary Clinton will receive at least five delegates from the South Dakota primary.

This is an historic moment and I hope that we can all appreciate it. There is no entitlement just joy that perhaps our country is finally transcending racial boundaries...one can only hope. Hillary Clinton is a great candidate and I truly believe will work with Sen Obama and the Democratic Party to unite the Party and ultimately win the General Election!!

She needs to apologize for Iraq vote and apologize to Obama and the Democratic Party; for all of her attacks. If she does that and shows she has some humility then Obama should give her a chance to make her case!
What a victory! What a proud moment! We will cherish this moment for the rest of our lives and we will never forget that a skinny black man with a strange name beat the Clinton machine dynasty, by appealing to us, Americans and the "angels of our better nature".
For the first time in my adult life, I am REALLY proud of this country!!!!!
YES WE CAN!!!!!
Enjoy it while it lasts!! Any day now they will be forced to let Michelle loose & it won't take her long to put Obama worshipers in their place!!!
