Kennedy is joining Obama's VP search team.

(CNN) - Caroline Kennedy has joined Barack Obama's vice presidential selection team, an Obama campaign spokesman said Wednesday.

Former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson and former Deputy U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder are also serving on the committee.

Kennedy, the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, formally endorsed Obama late January in a New York Times op-ed piece titled, "A President Like My Father."

"I have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them," Kennedy wrote then. "But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president - not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans."

Please do not put Hillary on the ticket. She is vindictive, and wants us to believe we can not make it without her. Do not be intimidated by that bully, let her have her tempertantrum, and focus on MCsame. Inspite of all the racial challenges the majority of people are good Americans. We must believe and have hope.

It's outrageous to have Clinton staff and backers going on national television advocating for a Clinton VPship. That certainly doesn't seem like a way to unify the party. Does it make Obama a bad person if he doesn't pick her? Seems like more of a devisive and manipulative attempt to have their way than to unify the party. If people are stupid enough to vote for McCain who's policy platform is antithetical to Clinton's policies, I don't really think that they should be encouraged in that direction.

I love hearing all of Obama's supporters saying they do not want the Clintons back in the White House as if they had a clue. So many of them have never paid any attention to politics until Obama began his run for the presidency. While I comend Obama for his ability to excite, he should work on his ability to inform because clearly, informed, his supporters are not. Keep bashing Hillary, then you all can blame her for why her supporters did not join all of you nasty, vulgar idiots that led to Obama's loss.

Can someone please explain the math to me when it is said that more people voted for Clinton? You can't pick and choose which states count according to how you do in them. All states and caucuses count therefore Obama won the popular vote and that is why he is OUR nominee!

New Word of the Day – Tantrumary – This comes after the Primaries. This is where you throw tantrums and see what you get!

Let's hope this committee ignores the blackmail and selects the right candidate for VP!

Mr. Cyburn has been getting a hate phone calls from people who identified themselve as clinton supporter he said that he had not heard since the 40's and 50's, but they might be republicans too. Clinton needs to step to the plate in tell her people this kind of behavior would not be tolerated.

ONCE OBAMA OFFERS THE POSITION TO HILLARY WE WILL UNITE. UNTIL THEN HIS VICTORY WILL BE OVER SHADOWED BY HILLARY. SHE IS THE BETTER CANDIDATE AND ALWAYS WILL BE. THE REASON HE IS THE NOMIMEE IS BECAUSE OF THE SUPER DELEGATES.

WHAT A JOKE THE OBAMAMANIACS ARE – GO AHEAD AND PRETEND HE WILL GET THE PRESIDENCY WITH OUT HILLARY. THERE IS MORE GOOD WITH THIS TICKET THAN THERE IS NEGATIVES.

THINK ABOUT IT WE WANT TO WIN DON'T WE?

You want the Democrats to win for sure? It would be smart to make Hillary VP.

Additionally, yes, Hillary ran a great race and should be commended for her efforts and accomplishment. But, Obama is the presumptive Democratic nominee and should be respectfully acknowledged as such and then petition, suggest, coerce the possibility of HRC being on “HIS” ticket without the "demand“ undertone.

The goal of ensuring a Democrat in the White House in January 2009 seems to be falling by the wayside and the Repub’s are laughing/gloating all the way to the bank. CAN WE PLEASE STOP THE FIGHT AND UNITE!!

He is just trying to hide the fact that he is asking Ted Kennedy to help him. Caroline Kennedy doesn't qualify for this.

Pick whoever you want. Senator Clinton doesn't want to be VP – she wants (and deserves) to be President.

I think 18 million votes for the first INDEPENDENT to win the Presidency of the US would be a nice victory for Senator Clinton.

Dave SC writes: "Who cares? Obama has no expertise to decide himself.. He showing the american peopple that he has to nominate separate team to find a VP for him. It is his job to nominate somebody."

Every candidate appoints a selection team. Busy had one too. His was led by Chenney.

GR writes: "How does Caroline Kennedy qualify to give advice on a VP? This is strange."

The selection committee takes its direction from the candidate. Their role is one of interviewing and background vetting. They will give Obama a list of people they recommend, based on his critera, and he will make the choice. This is no different than its been done in the past.

You people should educate yourselves before trying to educate others.

Hillary would make a FANTASTIC Supreme Court Justice, and in that role could have influence for decades!

No disrespect to Hillary's supporters... Obama needs to choose someone who reflects his commitment to doing things in a new way in Washington. I like Obama/Richardson, but I know the Obama VP search team will choose the best person to help facilitate change to benefit our citizens, our country and our work in the world.

Caroline Kennedy is a great addition to the search team. Another example of Obama's ability to choose excellent advisors and a well-chosen team.

Our future is suddenly looking so bright!

I feel sorry for all of the Clinton supporters that feel they have been betrayed, but some day they will realize that Hillary betrayed them the most.

If she truly wanted to be the VP, she would have thrown her total support behind Barack Obama last night. She has let all of the women that supported her and wanted her to be on the ticket down.

If she had been supportive of Barack Obama last night, all of the news would have been very positive about her today, and made it imposible for Barack to turn her down. Now, not only is the news negative, but the entire Democratic Party will turn against her.

Her actions last night may help bring Obama down in November, which is suspect is what she wants, but it will also be the end of her political career. People will not forget this if she tries to run again in four years. There will be many Democrats that supported her this year that will not support her the next time because she has shown her true colors, and shown that she has put herself above the Party.
