[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/06/04/art.obamaken.ap.jpg caption="Kennedy is joining Obama's VP search team."](CNN) - Caroline Kennedy has joined Barack Obama's vice presidential selection team, an Obama campaign spokesman said Wednesday.
Former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson and former Deputy U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder are also serving on the committee.
Kennedy, the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, formally endorsed Obama late January in a New York Times op-ed piece titled, "A President Like My Father."
"I have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them," Kennedy wrote then. "But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president - not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans."
almost there
Oh, dear God, let's hope Obama is not a president like John F. Kennedy. Talk about a disaster. Kennedy is without a doubt in the top five worst presidents in the history of the United States.

Obama should seriously consider Gen. Wesley Clark for VP. There was a strong "Draft Clark" movement down here in Texas last time around. Clark has large scale federal administrative experience as the former NATO Commander, and is a Vietnam combat veteran, a Clinton supporter (can't hold it against him), and has campaign experience (knows the mistakes already personally). He would be a good counter weight to John McCains military resume and bring a lot to the ticket. He's also from Arkansas so that should help the ticket with its Southern strategy and would play very well in places such as NH which is Mccain country but has a lot of independents.
Hey Texas Trail Dog:
You're thinking of Ted, friend. Caroline Kennedy is both a woman and Ted's niece, the daughter of Ted's brother, former President John F. Kennedy.
Perhaps President Lincoln said it best: "'Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt."
Any chance Sen. Clinton had for VP consideration has gone with the wind with her self-absorbed 'speech' last night.
I believe it will be Obama/Jim Webb
anyone but hill clinton
no that was not a spelling error
He needs to move out of the way
then maybe her campaign would have had a chance
we don't need 3 people in the white house trying to be president when only one should be
Bill Clinton was a great president
now he's just ruining his legacy
OBAMA 08
Her political experience lies in what, the fact that she's a Kennedy? Or is it that she has the inate ability to spot a blue blooded elite left winger V.P. candidate a mile away? Not a very wise informed decision.
"Obama has no expertise to decide himself.. He showing the american peopple that he has to nominate separate team to find a VP for him. It is his job to nominate somebody."
Great leaders surround themselves with great people to help them make infomred decisions. Duh.
Even HRC cannot win those so called "uneducated hardworking white Americans" in the general elections. They can take their votes and HRC and go to blazes! HRC cannot be VP. There's no unity ticket – she can form one with Lou Dobbs!
18 million people of america wanted sen. hillary not oboma so he was not elected by the people of america be is a sexest and a racest and those who supported him are like he is but the 18 million people will get those super delegates out of office and supper delegates i have the list who agaive oboma the delegates at least he know he didn't win by popular vote he won by delegates no more no less if it wasn't for them he wouldn't have got iti know you won't let the 18 million people read this commit
In my opinion, Hillary should not accept the VP position. She should run as an independent candidate and win the election in the Fall when the Florida and Michigan are not penalize for early voting and when all votes are counted. That will show how fool the DNC was to pick Obama. Hillary has the most popular votes than any other candidates and she alway fight for American people. She is an excellent leader who understand people and who can help to solve the problems that we face now. I hope to see her run as an independent candidate like Joe Lieberman did in 2006 and win the election.
I am sure this panel will suggest a perfect VP for Obama
Some are threating to vote for McCain if Hillary is not the VP.
To them I say it is a free country . Apparently they have more money than I do.
$15.27 bought 2.5 gallons of gas; one box of Cherrios and a half gallon of milk. I can't afford another Republican administraion.
I would vote for Bugs Bunny if that were the Democrat nominee before I will vote for a Republican
And we might add from the NW
Seattle/Portland area....
Senator Hillary Clinton would not be a good choice
for VP considering all that she has said about Obama
Instead...a cabinet position or a crusader for Children
Obama 2008
I think the person he should pick is sitting right next to him "Caroline Kennedy, now thats a dream ticket.
Chula: You are highly confused and disillusioned.
These avid Clinton supporters need to take sedatives...first of all. Then they need to realize that due to her MANY highly negative attack statements about Obama during the primary season, she has ruined her own chance at VP practically. Hillary and Bill have stuck their own feet in their own mouths with this one.
Thank goodness a Kennedy knows that Hillary is NOT the anointed VP for Obama
I love you Caroline Kennedy. I really do. May God bless you for supporting a man I regard as a brother.
Hmm, looks like Hillary isn't an automatic "shoo-in" after all for VP. There are plenty of other inspiring candidates besides "bitter" Hillary for VP to augment Obama's CHANGE message who can bring in the white female and white undereducated males to the general election. The longer Hillary whines, complains and denies the inevitable, the tougher it'll be for her to become VP or get Obama to reimburse her for lost $11.4 million "loan".
Should be a real hoot now....:)
