Obama making imprint on DNC organization

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/06/05/art.obamadnc.gi.jpg caption="Obama will ask the DNC to stop taking lobbyist and PAC money."](CNN) - Barack Obama is set to ask the Democratic National Committee to no longer accept money from federal lobbyists or political actions committees, CNN has learned from sources at the DNC and the Obama campaign.

CNN has also learned Obama will ask one of his top operatives, Paul Tewes, to help the DNC with its fundraising operation, which has lagged far behind its Republican counterpart this year.

Tewes will be the Illinois senator's eyes and ears at the DNC and see to it that the party and the candidate are in sync, according to sources.

I am not a Hillary supporter, but if she would have won the nomination, I would have voted for her! Give me a break - you disgrunted HRC supporters! It's okay to be upset your candidate was beaten, but let's not be ridiculous...you need to join us kool-aid drinkers and fast. This country and our little children cannot endure any more of this crazy Republican rule. Life must get better and the first step is getting those dishonest, money-grubbers out of the White House so life has a "chance" to improve for us everyday Americans.

    Obama 08 and 4-ever.

Obama – is a man of his word and keeps to it. He did what he said that he would do. That is why he will be a great president. Now, lets see if McCain does the same?

    Real quote:
For some black Americans, the impact of his win reached into the improbable, registering as a shock inconsistent with a lifetime of experience. Adrian Cheeks, 45, from Falls Church, had considered Obama's candidacy a "chance in hell - snowball." Mildred Taylor, 80, from Los Angeles, was convinced she'd never see a black president in her lifetime.

    Changed:
For some American women, the impact of her win reached into the improbable, registering as a shock inconsistent with a lifetime of experience. Adrian Cheeks, 45, from Falls Church, had considered Hillary's candidacy a "chance in hell - snowball." Mildred Taylor, 80, from Los Angeles, was convinced she'd never see a woman president in her lifetime.

Kenneth – Just change a few words and then maybe you'd understand there is more than one dream. Only thing worse that a sore loser is a sore winner.

The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.

While you're at it.........do away with superdelegates too. Change the rules that can let a body of people literally change the direction of a political race in an hour. Let the voters do the choosing right up to the last minute.

While you're at it.........do away with endorsments from organizations that try to influence their members how to vote and who to vote for.

Yes, reorganize or change the rules. Most of the past heads of the DNC backed Obama and no one even looked twice. I did.

I know about the freedom of speech and press and I support this.
But....... what the ENTIRE media and bloggersphere did to Hillary Clinton was so grossly unfair that the DNC should have stepped to the plate and spoken up for her when it really got out of hand.
CHANGE THE RULES AND CHANGE THE HEAD OF THE DNC.

    You people are so ungrateful!
It is a disgrace how you treat one of you very capable politicians, Hillary!

To be in a high end for Obama /What he has done for this country?/ by trashing Clintons or however else that could be is the MOST DISHONOURABLE think. Why he has to rise on the "death" of somebody? Is in he capable to do it on his on??!!!
And you are talking about "proud American" and "how far you have gone"?

You do not deserve her! And she is a woman! Pakistanis are better; the entire country was crying for Mrs. Bhutto and they suppose to learn from you?!? That's way the world do not like you!

4-5 years from now you are going to trash Obama and specially Michele Obama any how!

    That is America!

    Money, Bread and Circuses!!!

Sorry Mrs.Clinton, that is you country!

Senator Obama has shown that you do not need Lobbyists and PACs in order to raise money. His campaign has provided the model. This is a great change. If this goes through, then we can be certain the DNC is promoting the values of the people of the party, not the values of the Lobbyists and the PACs. The Republicans only wish they could afford to do such a thing.

What is Obama talking about? He accepted money from drug and oil companies all through this campaign. They just were not "registered" federal lobbiest. That is why I am leaving the democratic party and voting for McCain.

    Obama is such a liar.

CHARLOTTE, GIVE US ONE SPECIFIC REASON WHY YOU ARE UPSET, THEN ASK YOURSELF IS IT WORTH......WE WERE MANIPULATED IN TO THINKING THE OBAMA TEAM DID SOMETHING WRONG,,,, THEY FOLLOW THE RULES....THE OBAMA'S PEOPLE SHOULD BE UPSET BECAUSE THEY CHANGED THE RULES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAMPAIGN TO SATIFY HRC'S TEAM....

DON'T YOU THINK THAT RIGHTOUS PREVAILED OUT OF THE DECEITFULNESS OF POLITIC WE HAVE BEEN PRACTICING UNDER THE DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS...

LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENING, PEOPLE ARE SPEAKING OUT BECAUSE OF THEIR INTEGRITY, INSTEAD OF THEIR LOYALITY TO THEIR PARTIES....

I UNDERSTAND SOME OF YOU GUYS ARE NOT READY FOR CHANGE, BUT CHANGE IS COMING WHETHER YOU CONTRIBUTE OR VOTE FOR OBAMA...I WILL REACH OUT MY HAND TO MAKE YOU MY BROTHER OR SISTER, BUT I WILL NOT LEAN FORWARD. YOU WILL ONLY HAVE TO REACH OUT YOUR HAND ! AND THEN AND ONLY THEN WE CAN MOVE FORWARD.......

    To "John MCCain For President"

First and foremost it is Commander-in-Chief not Commander and Chief. Second, when was the last time Republicans put country first before the Republican Party. Keep thinking on this one and you will never find the answer. Your so called "Conservative Base" is easily swayed by bunch of "Cowboys" who use religion and patriotism for their advantage and not for the benefit of the US. The Republican Party is run by bunch of "Elitists" who never understood and never tried to understand the average American. They think our sons and daughters were born to die for their war so that "Halliburton" could get more government contracts. Your party is controlled by "Lobbyists" and they think first about their clients not the country. And when you have a person that defies "Lobbyists" you know his "Decisions" as "President" will not be marred by corporate interests.

If he can do this then real change is coming. He's upping the stakes dramatically and many, many powerful people will be out for his head. God Bless and keep you Mr. Obama because you appear to be a man of your word and that's dangerous turf your entering.

Folks please realize that Senator Clinton's campaign still needs funding. If you want to throw your money away, you can waste it on McCain or keep Senator Clinton strong to support HER party the democrats.

We can now see that OBAMA is not "all hat and no cattle" as hillary refered to him during the Texas debate afterall.
I think he is "less hat and a lot more cattle".
His campaign managed the little donations prudently and the result is here for all to see.
    I can't wait to donate!!
    He is genius!!

Its always good to get yourself on a good footing as party president heading for country presidency. All the way man!

Anyway to the Clintonites – you are either a democrat or a republican. If you are a democrat you knew very well how the rules and regulations governing this election from the on-set, so the parties to the contest. Under the same rules and regulations one party (Obama) won and the other (Clinton) lost. You do not change the rules of the game mid stream.

And for those advocating for Hillary for VP, she is worth more than that. If she herself would want that post, let it be her call but I would rather she goes for a more powerful post in govt than to be an echo of the President – is she capable of that? She is too powerful to be VP. America runs the risk of having her trying to upstage the Pres to the detriment of that office. For her showing I would even suggest State Secretary. A VP's post is the least influential post in government and is that what you consider to be the best she has to give to America? Think again, and request for a proper representation of your vote.

I'm Canadian and I donated to Obama. So refreshing to see that the system can correct itself. Let's hope it's in time. The old pork barrel ways may not work this time., and that must have a lot of powerful people worried. Probibly why they are keeping Hillary in the wings. Can only imagine the good things that will happen if the USA has a presedent that is for the people. You guys are so lucky Obama has surfaced after 8 years of Bush. Like divine intervention.

    God Bless America
