(CNN) - John McCain issued a promise Tuesday that may cause a bit of unrest with a broad swath of voters:
He'll veto every single beer?
In a slip of the tongue while railing against excessive earmarks at the National Small Business Summit in Washington, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee inadvertently pledged to veto the popular alcoholic beverage.
Watch McCain's slip of the tongue
"I will use the veto as needed. I will veto every single beer - bill with earmarks," he said, as rumblings from the crowd could be heard. "And every single bill that we have come across my desk I will make them famous. I will veto them, you will know their names."
It's not entirely surprising McCain has beer on the brain: his wife, Cindy, is heiress to her father's Arizona beer distribution company, Hensley and Company, one of the largest distributors in the U.S., for which she now serves as chairman.
The sad thing about it is he wouldnt of even remember saying it if no one would of reminded him about it. I think we really need to look at his age and see if he is really in a good state of mind to even be president if elected
Wow. He votes like Bush and now he speaks more like Bush too. I wonder what'll be next.
lol..he couldnt have meant beer.. Cindy would be outta biz'ness!
"All we have to fear is beer itself!".
I really hope Obama wins!!
McCain is an old bird, and don't know any better.
Well, we know what's on his mind. Beer anyone? Also, why is it that the media captures every single one of McCain's slips when Obama has a lot of them himself? Biased reporting at its best.
These are signs folks. You can put lipstick and perfume on a pig, but it's still a pig. The fact is that McCain is an elderly man. He can attempt to make jokes and blatant gaffs, but he is showing early signs of Alzheimers.
You have to wonder sometimes if some of these comments are actually posted by republicans posing as dissatisfied Clinton supporters. If not, then these dissatisfied democrats are as stupd as the politicians in Washington.
Do you really think McCain and the republicans will even listen to anything you have to say after they have your vote? Do you really think McCain will fight for the causes that "you say" you care about? Do you think McCain will appoint supreme court justices (life appointments) that will have your best interest in mind? LAMO
Go right ahead and vote for McCain, I will love the next 8 years of whinning democrates.
How long will it take him to deny saying this?
8 years of republican pork barrel spending and "NOW" McGeezer promises to veto earmarks.
John McCain's plan is more of the same Bush economic policies and we all know what that was all about – GIVE THE RICH MORE!
"And every single bill that we have come across my desk I will make them famous."
What the heck does that mean??
What?????
This is like taking away my life 🙂
He was probably wanting an ice cold one at the time.
At least we know he'll be a down-to-earth president that likes beer!
I've have bigger slips of the tongue.....and I'm a whole lot younger than McCain!
And wasn't it Obama that said he'd visited 57 states?????? is that early senility? Early Alzheimer's?
Lighten up!

This guy is such a self-serving moron – I'm almost 100% convinced the American public will elect him!
))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
DITTO!
Remember when Bush was re-elected, the whole world wondered why 59 Million Americans would be so stupid? Watch the same people elect Mccain..the world would be laughing and amazed at how dumb pple can be ...shame!
too many slips man. are you sure you dont have early onset dementia?
America beware
You go to war and be in a prison camp for five years and see how well you move afterward.
It was a funny comment, my only gripe is that people still refer to him as McBush and McSame. John McCain IS change. He is basically an independant and he works with Democrats and Republicans alike. He is trying to change filthy politics that is run by money and greed.
Obama's calls that he is a third term Bush are blatantly false. I lost respect for him.
Undecided Clinton fan
With all due respect to McCain, since he is an elder, the Republican party can't be serious about McCain running for president, could they?
I almost feel sorry for McCain . . . almost.
But, more concerned on the outcome and changes that need to be made for the kido's future.
McCain just doesn't have the stance to run as president.
Well, you know what he was really thinking:
"Gee, I wish this darn speech was over already, so I could have a cold one!"
I think that McCain may have one to many of what he was going to veto....bottoms-up......this bud is for you.
DID HE MEAN EVERY BEAR BOTH FORIGEN AND DOMESTIC?
Funny stuff...but everyone has a slip of the tongue, no big deal, but i will enjoy the late night take on it with letterman and others...
He never speaks from the heart. He is a repub robot. Hey, does his wife ever speak? or is it true she's a stepford wife?
Not the way to win Clinton Supporters In West Virginia.
