McCain daughter writing children's book

(CNN) - Meghan McCain, daughter of presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain, is trying her hand at being a children's author.
The publishing giant Simon & Schuster announced Wednesday that McCain, 23, will write a children's book about her famous father set to be published during the first week of September - the same week as the Republican Party's national convention in Minneapolis.
"I am truly excited about the opportunity to write a children’s book about my father, who is not only a fantastic dad, but also a great American," McCain said in a statement. "This book will offer children the unique opportunity to see the character building events that happened over his lifetime, experiences that led up to his current bid to become the future President of the United States."
Simon & Schuster said it will donate a portion of the proceeds from the book to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, an organization that aids military personnel and veterans who have brain injuries.
Meaghan McCain has already drawn attention for her writing this year - her campaign blog became a primary season phenomenon.

Maybe they'll use her to get people men to show-up to McCain pep rally's.
Why isin't she in uniform, oh, sorry, I forgot, only ture Americans will serve, republicans don't serve anymore.

It's all about cashing in on her name. At least her publicist is smart enough to know to release the book before he loses the election in November..

Great, I hope it is out by Christmas so that I can give it to the little ones in my life as a Christmas present, thus they will learn about another American who persevered.

In response to Barnie- McCain does have a son who is a marine stationed in Iraq presently, and another who attends the US Naval Academy.
Barnie - this falls into that "other ways to serve" category. I imagine writing children's books can be very dangerous, what with dealing with lethal negative reviews and such.

how convenient! Great timing! well, I think you can soften the image of the man by writing a children's book about him, and yes, that will show another side of Mccain, but it is the man himself and his behavior that will really count. By the way, all the younger generation and children trying to represent their parents in this election, just to mirror the young and vigorous Obama will not help. The children are not running for president.

Good for her. Her dad is an American hero and it is great for kids to learn about him.
I don't support him for President. I do respect the man and thank him for his service to this country.
