An early Fathers Day gift for John McCain

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/06/11/art.megmc.ap.jpg caption="Meghan McCain gave her father an early Father's Day gift."]
(CNN)—Meghan McCain gave her father an early Father’s Day gift Friday when she changed her political party affiliation from an Independent to a Republican.

Joined by her mother, Cindy McCain, the younger McCain re-registered at the State Capitol Executive Building in Phoenix, Arizona.

In a statement on the aspiring first daughter’s blog, Meghan McCain explained she made the decision as a symbol of commitment to her father.

Meghan McCain, who was registered as an Independent since she was old enough to vote, said in a statement the choice represents her faith in her father’s “ability to be an effective leader for our country and to grow and strengthen the Republican Party when he is elected President of the United States.

“Happy Father's Day, Dad!” she also said.

If it took her this long to register herself as a republican, that really shows how much faith she has in her father. How long has she been able to vote now?

Who cares? WHow about a few stories about McCain's lobbyiest infested camp? You guys spend 80% on Obama, of which 75% of ift is bad and only 20% on McCain, of which 5% is bad. How about a little balance? McCain's doing whatever he wants and you guys don;t call him on all his BS. McCain = Media Darling.

If this was a blouse Obamas wife were wearing, we would hear the republicans saying it looked like it were a head scarf worn by the jihadists.

In your Father's Day card does it say anything about, thanks for divorcing mommy so you could date the stepford wife?

Good for her! Candidates for president, whose children make positive public decisions, know that such acts are to be cherished. John McCain is indeed fortunate that he has such loyal females in his family. And the fact that they are lovely, in looks and actions, is especially a plus for him.

At least Father's day brought some sense in you. Grow up.
There are jokers like Barack there who is folling people with his big mouth and anti-smear campagin. He has nothing to talk about. None of us are going to vote for Obama. he does not deserve it. Vote John McCain.

Helen, STFU and make me a sandwich woman.. I'm sure you find that as a compliment since men like John McSame says that's okay to treat women like you.

    Good for you, Meghan!

However, maybe you can use your fairy tales to make your dad win the election (yeah, I doubt even that will work!)

Seriously, the majority of you guys who comment on these boards have to be the most immature individuals I have seen. You don't care about the election process, you just want to make asinine statements that you think are clever (they aren't) so the rest of your group-think buddies think you are cool. It boggles the mind that you even vote, you aren't concerned about making the country better, you just want to complain, therefore you are part of the problem, sad really.

What a lovely girl! Are you sure she belongs to McCain?
Just joking. Too bad about her politics. But, if she didn't support her dad, it would be even bigger news.

    Wow she's cheap.

Her Father's Day gift should be following her father's footsteps into military service.

    Or a tie.

Excellent idea and a well deserved tribute! 🙂

McCain is the only wise choice for 08. Vote for the American hero who is in touch with mainstream America!

Oh, I am not a Republican but I will vote for the best candidate to be president of the Unites States of America.

Obama=Bush! they represent two extremes – right-wing and left-wing. One is as bad for America as the other. Moving from one extreme to the other is not change Americans can believe in! 🙁
