An early Fathers Day gift for John McCain

Meghan McCain gave her father an early Father's Day gift.

Meghan McCain gave her father an early Father's Day gift.

(CNN)—Meghan McCain gave her father an early Father’s Day gift Friday when she changed her political party affiliation from an Independent to a Republican.

Joined by her mother, Cindy McCain, the younger McCain re-registered at the State Capitol Executive Building in Phoenix, Arizona.

In a statement on the aspiring first daughter’s blog, Meghan McCain explained she made the decision as a symbol of commitment to her father.

Meghan McCain, who was registered as an Independent since she was old enough to vote, said in a statement the choice represents her faith in her father’s “ability to be an effective leader for our country and to grow and strengthen the Republican Party when he is elected President of the United States.

“Happy Father's Day, Dad!” she also said.

There is no such thing as independent. You are either Republican or Democrat. Being an independent allows you to flip flop just like old Joe LIEberman

Not quite a bais party, is she. Also, it might have meant more if you changed it before he was the nominee of that party. Of course you want your daddy to be Pres. regardless of whether he is right for the country.

    To You Obama Supporters.

You are all way to scary….Way to try and unite the country. I think you all are really part of some crazy cult. Does this have to do with the second coming of the Hale-Popp commit? Just let me know the arrival date so I can go hide.

People need to stop saying Obama is playing race card. Stop dealing the race card with lies and it won't be played!! If people start personally attacking Cindy Mccain, oh that would be so wrong. Or start attacking Mccain age!!

Conservatives radio talk shows, Conservative supporters, Conservatives TV talk shows and Conservatives Media better be careful about what you dish out. Because what you dish out, you normally can't take. You better stop personally attacking Obama and his wife or McCain and his wife will be subjected to the same thing. This is a world of internet, u-tube and websites. McCain left his first sick wife to be with Cindy. Cindy had a drug problem. I know this would be dirty to bring out, but keep attacking the Obama's and this would be fair games. Keep being dirty FOX News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and etc., you are only hurting your own party because it will backfire!!

Smart girl!!! I am changing my voter registration from democrat to republican, because of the sad shape the democratic party has set up the primary's. Candidates who get more votes get less pledged delates, Caucus states get more pledged delegates (thousands vote) than primary states (millions vote). They give pledged delegates to the loser from the winner (Michigan). Now Dean is out there calling everyone who criticizes Obama a racist (even though Obama and Michelle spent 20 years in a racist church!!!)

Yeh, she and at most 30 other retards throughout the whole counrty re-registered as [R]. It takes a truly confused or disturbed individual to want to continue America's slide back into the Dark Ages. But the [R]s have hope: America's voting IQ is little higher than the price of gas in dollars, as evidenced by the last two elections. Talk about two MONUMENTAL mistakes! And the toothless 28% true-believers celebrate on with McCain!

The idea behind it is very charming to give that to Dad on Father's Day. But I think it gives fuel to the republican base that are not comfortable with McCain that his family is just now registering as members of the party that gave him a shot at the White House.

Ahhh...how sweet ! But then, what else can this "little rich girl" give her father who probably has everything. ( NOT THE HONOR OF BEING THE PRESIDENT ) For her sake, let's just hope that all the "DIRT" on her father and mother does not come out in the general election. Yeh, she probably knows all about it, however, being broadcast on TV would probably make it worse. So....Meghan, tell your father to keep it clean. SORRY...he will not be President !!!!

she looks as plastic and phony as her mother – both white trailer trash – With all her $$ can't Cindy manage to find a decent hairdresser and her clothes – puleeze – get a grown-up wardrobe that fits, at least!

and to all the Clinton lady supporters – wake up for pete's sake – McBush stands for everything Clinton opposes – honor her legacy and vote Obama. Do you really want the idiots to take over the Supreme Court? Do you realize how often McBush has voted against women and childrens' legislation – always! He'll push to have Roe v. Wade overturned – WAKE UP – don't protest by staying home – vote Democratic.

this old, white, college-educated white lady supports OBAMA'08

Q: What would you think of someone who kept his troops in Hell for 100 years?
A: I would call them a terrible president.
McCain is undefendable, so give it up.

Hey Uncle Sam, I went through hell for my fellow Americans: me and my family put up with the idiot YOU elected to office for the last 8 years. That doesn't necessarily make me presidential material. And McCain's prisoner-of-war experience doesn't alone qualify him to be president either. Your weak logic bespeakes the weakness of McCain's campaign. You neo-tards do not really support him; you are merely mourning the loss of your kool-aide when king george goes away.

95% of the Obama "supporters" cry racism and every other ism there is at the slightest criticism of their candidate. Just look at their responses/posts here about McCain and his family. Then tell me again why they believe Michelle is off limits.

Way to back up your statement with some facts, or anything that is meaningful in any way.

McWar's kid is in support of McWar, what a surprise; How is this news?

Lets stop all the fake if not Hillary then McWar comments. It's old and BS. If someone supported Hillary the they may or may not be for Obama, BUT they would be totaly agenst EVERYTHING McWar stands for.

Seriously, the majority of you guys who comment on these boards have to be the most immature individuals I have seen. You don't care about the election process, you just want to make asinine statements that you think are clever (they aren't) so the rest of your group-think buddies think you are cool. It boggles the mind that you even vote, you aren't concerned about making the country better, you just want to complain, therefore you are part of the problem, sad really.
