McCaskill interested in VP?

CNN

Watch McCaskill's comments on the veepstakes.

(CNN) - Is ardent Barack Obama supporter Claire McCaskill interested in the No. 2 spot on the Illinois senator's presidential ticket?

The Missouri Democrat, who has long been an outspoken backer of Obama's presidential bid, didn't exactly shoot down that notion in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, though she did say she expected to be staying put in the Senate.

"I have complete trust in Senator Obama's judgment in this regard," McCaskill said when asked if she thinks she may be on his shortlist of potential running mates.

"And I can't wait to help president Obama swing some really strong punches for change as a senator from Missouri in the United States Senate," she added with a smile.

Winning Missouri has long been considered as an important component to capturing the White House. In all but one election since 1904 the state has voted for the winner of the presidential race.

McCaskill's comments come a day after Obama told McCaskill's hometown newspaper, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, that there are "very few people" who he is closer to.

"There are very few people who are closer to me, who I have relied on more for counsel or advice," he told the paper. "Should I be successful in this campaign, she will be somebody who has the utmost access to the Obama administration."

Not a bad choice at all, although I don't think she will be picked. However, she will play a major roll in his administration.

If Obama picks her instead of Hillary, it will be a real slap in the face.

Obama just could be that stupid and arrogant.

Obama: Hope you can be fooled with.

    Hope/ change/Kumbaya

Face it: the only thing Obama can deliver is a speech!

Mr. Obama will make his choice to his suite that is McCaskill or Sebilius would be great confidants to carry and consult some of the burden of becoming a president specially in this murky State of the Union. He needs someone that compliments him and his administration with strong domestic policy. He can make retired servicemen as members of his national security team who share his and the people's belief. Secondly, if his campaign survived against Hillary with left and right jab, it is for sure certain to beat McCain in election 08. Good luck OBAMA08

The Clinton bashing continues... Remember Obama zealots that you need our vote in November and without it you don't win. You do a disservice to Obama's campaign by making personal attacks. That isn't the hope and change he is running his campaign on.

If Obama and Clinton are together they had better tell us who else is in the Cabinet. I want Bloomberg and Colin Powell as the Secretary of Defense and Richardson as Secretary of State.
Seriously can Hillary be considered as a Supreme Court after the Bosnia tale? Do you really think? There will be something for her after Dodd, Biden and some others.
What's with Strickland? Is he afraid of the 1in 6 who voted race in his state and he can't be seen with Obama?
[It is not like he is so popular with the layoff of state jobs soon.]

Didn't McCaskill's 14 year old daughter convince her she should back Senator Obama? Now that's the cart leading the horse!

She can't even lead her children... what a choice for VP this Senator would make!

Actually, I really do hope she gets it: A Democratic ticket of TOTAL ARROGACE and TOTAL IGNORANCE would be so COOL...

    Amazing,

Obama has so many prominent supporters that are women, McCaskill, Sellibus, to name a few, yet he is haunted by the Hillary crowd

I think Obama will need to take some time on this. There is no rush.

    To Democrat Against Obama:
Hillary is no less of a powerful leader in the democratic party than she was. She isn't the nominee, that doesn't mean she isn't wielding tremendous power. You should not underestimate Hillary Clinton. The VP slot may not be the most powerful position for her.

Also just because Obama gets elected in November, doesn't mean Hillary can't run against him in 2012 for the nomination.

    Couldn't we have Obama '08, Hillary '12, Hillary'16, Obama '20?
There are always possiblities. Obama '08 doesn't mean the end of anything for Hillary. She is young and strong, she's not going anywhere.

We can understand why McCaskill said "I have complete trust in Senator Obama's judgment", it is just because Obama used his unique JUDGEMENT to choose the paster wright for his family and then have been there to listen the famous sermons for more than 20 years...it is just because he used his UNIQUE ADJUDGEMENT TO CHOOSE a good friend there who can bribe him with real estate......

Oh well he should pick the queen of mean, Leona Hemsley reincarnated. Obama only one by 2900 votes in MO. I would never vote for him if this granny is on the ticket. You see his poll today 5% over Mccain, we as Hillary supporters is not yet supportig him. I was poll by CNN for this latest polling.

What does CNN call extending lead overMccain, a 1% margin. It must have been Dona Brazille and Jamal and Martin, who conducted the polls. Cnn no one is watching you anymore. You and your disgrntled Pundit. You helped Obama beat Hillary.
