[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/06/13/art.mccainrepub.gi.jpg caption="A new poll shows Republicans are demoralized."]WASHINGTON (CNN) - The Republican party may face tough times at the polls come November, according to results of a new national survey.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Survey out Friday indicates that 2008 may not be a good year for Republicans up and down the ticket, even though most national surveys indicate the race for the White House between Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama is quite close right now.

Sixty-three percent of Democrats questioned say they are either extremely or very enthusiastic about voting this year. Only 37 percent of Republicans feel the same way, with 36 percent of Republicans saying they are not enthusiastic about voting.

When will McFlipflop realize...he was the "sacrifical lamb"...who in their right might would run after Bush's idiotic policiies.

The dummy took the bait and here he is.....you don't see other Republicans with a bit of sanity backing him.

Republicans are laughing saying " oh well you put your head in your hands oh fella, you'll be history and we'lll forget about you.

Do you notice how other Republics are deep in the wordwork and not backing McSame?

They don't want to be see with \McBush to save their own political hides.

You can thank the Sean Hannity NeoCons for that. The bigots, I mean "conservatives who love America" have destroyed the party by splitting the country.

It's fine to disagree with Obama's direction for the country but to target his wife for smear tactics truly shows how far the GOP has dropped.

As if this is shocking. Look for a study decrease as the months progress. I can't wait to see the results after the 2 candidates have a good old fashioned debate. Obama is going to dominate McCain in a 1 on 1 debate. This should be entertaining.

After all the mess of this horrific decade, can you blame them?

And as if that wasn't enough to deal with, now they have a wannabe Conservative presidential candidate as their only Republican option in the fall.

    I'd be pretty demoralized too!

McCain needs to to get a clue about the following – end the Iraq war (George's War), secure our borders, deal with the energy crisis, pay down our debts and balance the budget.

What I worry about is the complacence that might set in with the Democrats. If there's one difference you'll see between left and right is that if you ask a Dem why she feels a particular way, she will say, "Because it feels right". A Conservative on the other hand might answer, "Because my faith tells me so" – that alone makes Republicans a more "constant" force

It might be worthwhile for the Dems to remember Longfellow:-

The heights by great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight,
But they while their companions slept
Were toiling upward in the night.

i cant wait to see this landslide!for the first time, in decades, we may have a working government, with legislators that are in tune with our executive branch, and soon,a federal judiciary, that will protect our constitution.we have so much to do,and this is the fastest way to do it.as an independent ,i will be voting ,up and down the ballot ,for democrats ,this year, and hope we have a working majority, in government, that will put an end to the two-party grid-lock.
