Al Gore to endorse Obama

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/06/11/art.gore0608.gi.jpg caption="Gore has not ruled out a future presidential run."] (CNN) - After remaining neutral throughout the Democratic primary season, former Vice President Al Gore is officially backing Barack Obama's presidential run, and will appear with him at a Michigan campaign event Monday night.

"A few hours from now I will step on stage in Detroit, Michigan to announce my support for Senator Barack Obama," said the 2000 Democratic presidential nominee in a fundraising e-mail sent to supporters Monday. "From now through Election Day, I intend to do whatever I can to make sure he is elected President of the United States."

Former presidential candidate John Edwards also announced his decision to endorse Obama at a rally in the crucial fall swing state.

I'd say cue the "oh look one 'looser' backing another" but I see there's already one post like that.

Only, John seems to be smart enough to know how to spell loser. I'll give him that.

Wonderful, can wait to see his endorsement on CNN.

Can someone please tell David Plouffe to keep his mouth shut. Senator Obama should campaign in both Michigan and Florida.

    Democrats Unite.

Hopefully Al Gore would consider being Vice President for Obama also. I read somewhere that it was possible to serve more than two VP terms. He'd be terrific.

PLEASE DO NOT VOTE FOR JOHN MCCAIN!! HE IS A SURE LOSS...IF YOU HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT OBAMA I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND BECAUSE HE PROBABLY ISNT THE BEST MAN FOR THE JOB, HOWEVER AT THIS POINT IN TIME HE IS THE ONLY MAN FOR THE JOB. TO ALL YOU HILLARY SUPPORTERS: IF YOU THINK THE DNC WAS MEAN OR WHATEVER YOU SAY TO HILLARY THINK ABOUT WHAT THE GOP WOULD HAVE DONE TO HER IN THE GENERAL ELECTION....OBAMA IS A STRONGER CANDIDATE AGAINST MCCAIN AND IF YOU COULD PUT ASIDE WHATEVER GRIPES YOU HAVE THE WORLD WILL BE A BETTER PLACE.

Do whats right for your children and the future of America...this is a new age with real deal problems and we need change. Even if Obamas change is not what you are looking for specifically we need a break from the Republican stronghold...I am an Independant.

VOTE SMART....STOP RACISM....MAKE LOVE NOT WAR!!!

Of course, there was never any doubt, a good man knows another good man. Plus he knows that Obama is the most environmentally friendly candidate that has ran so far.

@John....why are you referring to Obama and Gore as losers? Are you a Hillary supporter?

I am proud of Al Gore. This was the best decision that he could have made. It's better he waited until now or the Clinton better would have eatten him alive. Better late that sorry. For all the McCain supporters or Clinton supporters that don't believe Sen. Obama has a chance only time will tell if there are more wise people out in our great nation who believes that it is time that someone new completely out of the mess of Washington DC come in and fixes things.
