Al Gore to endorse Obama

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/06/11/art.gore0608.gi.jpg caption="Gore has not ruled out a future presidential run."] (CNN) - After remaining neutral throughout the Democratic primary season, former Vice President Al Gore is officially backing Barack Obama's presidential run, and will appear with him at a Michigan campaign event Monday night.

"A few hours from now I will step on stage in Detroit, Michigan to announce my support for Senator Barack Obama," said the 2000 Democratic presidential nominee in a fundraising e-mail sent to supporters Monday. "From now through Election Day, I intend to do whatever I can to make sure he is elected President of the United States."

Former presidential candidate John Edwards also announced his decision to endorse Obama at a rally in the crucial fall swing state.

This is a surprise? Once everything was decided, it was almost inevitable that it would happen. That's not to say that it isn't a good thing, but it is not a major surprise.

1/2 of "Sore-Loserman 2000" supporting Obama is much like the other 1/2 of "Sore-Loserman 2000" supporting McBush. He wasn't there when Obama needed, and now it should not count.

I hope Obama would not listen to the whaco Carville and resist from chosing 1/2 of "Sore-Loserman 2000" as his VP. On the other hand I pray to God that McBush/McSame would choose Lieberman as his VP.

Then we will have fun and watch the re-run of "Sore-Loserman 2000" as "(Mc)Same-Loserman 2008". LOL.

I'm another Independant swinging to McCain, when the dems were a party open to ideas and moderate, I swung for them BUT not now, they've destroyed the party this time. Why didn't they think before they made this mess a year ago January. It doesn't seem possible that they could lose the election in Nov. but they've done it. How they could make such a mess of it is beyond me. I may swing back to the dems in 4 years if they can get their stuff together and act like Democrats and not spoiled children. We need experience right now with the mess we're in on every front and we nominate someone WHO HAS ONLY RUN FOR OFFICE, TIME & AGAIN, DONE ONLY WHAT WOULD GET HIM ELECTED, never did anything once he was elected. Or if he wins in Nov. I'll stay going with a republican in 4 years.

  24. Vote Nader

It's amazing how easily one's respect for someone can be lost. I know this is purely political, but I thought you were better than that Vice President Gore.

You must know Sen. Obama's "investment" in "green technology" is not a good thing. The inevitable underfunding by the government will do more to hurt the progress forward than it will to help. Let the free market decide what course we should take. Remember, very few cared until gas was $3.90/gal. The market hasn't had time to react.
