Al Gore to endorse Obama

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/06/11/art.gore0608.gi.jpg caption="Gore has not ruled out a future presidential run."] (CNN) - After remaining neutral throughout the Democratic primary season, former Vice President Al Gore is officially backing Barack Obama's presidential run, and will appear with him at a Michigan campaign event Monday night.

"A few hours from now I will step on stage in Detroit, Michigan to announce my support for Senator Barack Obama," said the 2000 Democratic presidential nominee in a fundraising e-mail sent to supporters Monday. "From now through Election Day, I intend to do whatever I can to make sure he is elected President of the United States."

Former presidential candidate John Edwards also announced his decision to endorse Obama at a rally in the crucial fall swing state.

GORE YOU HAVE FAILED YOUR PARTY BY NOT ENDORSING HIM EARLIER! IT IS TOO LATE NOW GORE! THIS MEANS LESS THAN NOTHING. HECK YOU DIDNT EVEN ENDORSE HIM AFTER HE CLINCHED THE NOMINATION! THE DAY AFTER HE CLINCHED YOU SHOULD HAVE BACKED HIM IF YOU WANTED TO BE FAIR TO BOTH OF THEM. I STILL RESPECT YOU FOR ALL OF THE THINGS YOU DO, BUT IN THIS RESPECT YOU HAVE DROPPED THE BALL.

Okay he invented the internet. He got all the credit for the protection on the global enviroment. Now who is going to protect the Federal Reserve? I don't see this endorsement as having to save the planet but something far greater than the election of the United States of America.

Has Al Gore made himself that irrelevant that he waits until after Hillary is out of the race to decide who to endorse?

you take a 2nd Carter term over a 3rd Bush term? Read what you write before you send it out! Carter is the worse President in history with our economy and national security!

Bush is the most hated President in history but nothing in comparison to Carter!

I don't care who endorses BHO, I will NEVER vote for him. I never understood why Europeans, and the rest of the world felt that Americans are stupid, naive, and easily fooled. Well, now I know why, just look around on how everyone is falling for Obama...Americans, don't learn from their mistakes. How sad! Once again allowing themselves to be a target...Obama will bring this country down, mark my word.

    Mc.Cain 2008, Hillary 2012-2020.

Call me crazy, but to me it seems a bit pointless to endorse a candidate after he/she has already won his/her party's nod.

    To Sen. Obama,

I have a humble suggestion: please consider choosing Al Gore as your VP. A more radical move would be giving your delegates to him and making him the nominee and you being the VP. After all he rightfully won in 2000 and had the election stolen from him by the imposter and his "let them eat short term dividends" warmongers. Either way your combination would be awesome!

    Obama-Gore or Gore-Obama '08!

Al Gore, where is the global warming you're talking about? Here is another LOSER about to endorse another LOSER!

For the past 40 years, the Democratic Party won the White ONLY three times, Carter (worse President like Bush) and Bill Clinton, voted TWICE in office; he is the SECOND DEMOCRAT SERVED TWICE AS PRESIDENT after FDR.

    Pennsylvania will vote for McCain.

    HILLARY OR MCCAIN 08!!!!!!!

Al Gore is a big plus not only to our party but to our world and hIs endorsement means alot. I give great respect to a guy who was robbed of the presidency by a man who ended up being the worst president in our history yet who pulled himself together, took a new path and one which means so much the human race.

Obama is the "loser" huh. Obama isn't the one who F.U.B.A.R.'d this country over the past 8 years.

Republicans...you had your shot and blew it...Hillary supporters need to wake up. You would rather screw this country (by picking McCain) over for another 4 years just to give Hillary a shot in 2012? Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face...completely irrational.

Gore is the kiss of death – as soon as Gore endorsed Obama I knew Obama would lose the election, and McCain would win! I have been waiting for this!! Thanks Al !!!
