Obama: 'They're going to try to make you afraid of me'

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (CNN) - Barack Obama told supporters that Republicans will “try to make you afraid of me” in remarks he made Friday at a Florida fundraiser.
"The choice is clear. Most of all we can choose between hope and fear. It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy.
“We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run,” said the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. “They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. ‘He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?’"
In similar comments at a Chicago fundraiser last Thursday, Obama told supporters that Republicans would try to portray both him and his wife Michelle as "scary."
"They’re going to try to make me into a scary guy,” he said last week. “They’re even trying to make Michelle into a scary person. Right?" And so that drumbeat – 'we’re not sure if he’s patriotic or not; we’re not sure if he is too black.'
"I don’t know, before I wasn’t black enough," said Obama. "'Now he might be too black. We don’t know whether he’s going to socialize – well, who knows what.'"
Last week, the Illinois senator’s campaign launched a Web site to directly respond to and discredit Internet rumors about him and his wife that have dogged his presidential effort.

First, this is coming from an Independent, not a Republican. Second, this is from a well educated white male who believes in giving everyone a chance. Race is never a factor. In the matter of fact, should Rice or Powell ever decide to run for elected office... I would vote for them in a heartbeat. Now, with this out of the way, I do need to say, I am very disappointed in what the USA has become. We are a blame everyone except myself society. We believe in what is being fed to us, but I am smart enough to check out track records, and what the candidates have done before voting for them. You know what? Obama doesn't have a track record, except dividing people. We all saw he was able to get the Democratic Party and DNC against the Clinton's. He is partisanship to the core, and has no interest working with Republicans/Independents, yet he wants their vote. Out vote? For change we can believe in? I don't believe anything he says. Nothing at all. Clinton's arrogance did him in as President, and got him impeached. Can this country survive an another arrogant Democrat? No. Remember, people what goes around comes around, and becareful what you wish for as we're in for a long 4 years if Obama gets in. McCain is the lesser of two evils, and has my vote in November. Remember, Experience v. Inexperience Also, 9/11 happened after Clinton cut back our defense so much that Osama waited for the right time to strike. We were not prepared. Why do you think Chavez, Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and others want Obama in? Think about it.

For once I' m glad Nader is running. Last time he was just spoiler enough to deny Gore the presidency (which broke my heart). But this time, between Nader siphoning off Green voters and a portion of Democratic voters, and McCain picking up millions of Hillary's Democratic voters, Obama may get what he deserves: his Senate seat back. Can't wait.

I'm an Obama supporter, to the loss of a few Republican friends. It is my opinion that this logo is not in Barack's best interest. I recommend that it be scrapped in favor of a new idea that reflects nothing similar to the presidential seal.

Well there are people that know what is right on their own and there are people that know what is right when some one tells them. And then there a lot of the ones that dont want to listen and think what they know is right.
