Obama sets sights on Nevada, New Mexico

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is heading west next week to campaign in two states he hopes to turn blue this November.

The Senator from Illinois is scheduled to hold a campaign event in Albuquerque on Monday and Las Vegas on Tuesday. CNN considers Nevada a battleground or swing state as both parties think they can win Nevada in the general election. President Bush carried Nevada in 2004, but by only two points over John Kerry.

CNN considers New Mexico a state that leans Republican, but the Obama campaign has the state in its sights. President Bush won New Mexico four years ago as well, but by only one percent, and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is a major Obama supporter.

But geography may also comes into play. Arizona borders both states and is the home state of Obama’s rival, Sen. John McCain.

The presumptive GOP presidential nominee will also be in the west next week. He starts his week with fundraisers and campaign events in California.

There is a slim chance that New Mexico will turn blue but I doubt that. Nevada , forget that . A large majority of mormons live in that state and they may buy their religion but it contrast with the democrat party and Obama values. They will lock step and vote republican. Neveda will remain red. He might get some help from the Illegals if they are not montried and kept from casting their illegal votes as they do in california.

A good portion of my blue state will be voting red. I am a woman who feels betrayed by the democratic party. The democratic party has held my vote hostage for years under the threat of my right to control my own body being taken away by a conservative Supreme Court. Obama marginalized the female vote under this theory--namely, we won't have any choice but to vote for whomever the democratic candidate is in November. Not true. The Democratic party decided to support a inexperienced man over an experienced woman (period).

    He absolutely scares me!!!

AND New Mexico is democrat...I am in TX...spend much time in NM and they are dem...so that is nothing if he gets them.

Bill Richardson is a flake. Really...it will come back and bite him. What goes around comes around!!!

AND why does Obama keep saying he is black? Isn't he as much white as black? AND wasn't his white side the Americans? His black side never did one flipping thing for America...NOT ONE! Except impregnant a girl.

Notice how almost every picture (like the one on this ticker) shown of Hussein Obama has him pointing a finger. This guy is scary. I see a puppet dictator, anti-Christ in him. And why do people keep saying he is a good orator? He has a black accent (yeah, go ahead, call me racist, but it is true) that he tries very hard to hide but could not, and he has a very staccato way of speaking. I cannot believe how so many people get fooled by this guy. With a Democratic Congress and Hussein Obama President, our wonderful, great country will go down. I am so scared.

Considering what a poor state this is outside of 3 or 4 areas, why in hell does it "lean Republican"? Albuquerque and Santa are usually Democratic strongholds. Los Alamos goes GOP. I don't know about Las Cruces.

In every election the GOP votes pour in from the poor rural areas. It makes no sense. What has the GOP ever done for these people? Or anyone other than millionaires, corporate America, and the crazed christians?

Obama will most likely turn New Mexico BLUE if he chooses Bill Richardson as his running mate. If not both states will got to McCain.

    Go Obama!

Obama looks and acts like a dictator, not a candidate elected by the people. Yea–I forgot, he was selected, not elected by popular vote.

From one concerned citizen of U.S.A,

Dear American Voters, reporters, media. professionals, political parties, and presidential Nominees,

Hon. Senator McCain and Obama, besides each having many attributes and characteristics.
The critical differences between the two of these presidential presumptive nominees in my opinion are as under:

    1. Presidential "Temperament and Caliber".
    2. Little Washington "insider Versus outsider" experience.
    3. "Vision and mission" for our nation future rather than past.
    4. American policies, " first U.S.A Centric" than any other country [ ies ] centric.

In my professional opinion Senator Obama leads in all above qualities and attributes.

Senator Obama and his administration along with congress will address all the critical current and future domestic and foreign issues, challenges, and opportunities in coming years.

Let us remember and recite following concepts:

" Family, Friends, Fellows, Faith, Funds, Foundation [s], Fun, with Freedom & Fairness and without Fear, Favor, & Failure" . It applies to every citizen of our Greatgrand Nation.

Please stay involved, stay engaged, and stay informed. Please do not allow any seduction, deception, and or confusion by some partisan media and leaders effect your vote [ Psychological Terrorism ]..

    Yours truly,

    COL. [retd] A.M.Khajawall
    Disabled American Veteran
    Forensic psychiatrist, Las Vegas

PS: Please talk about the " Presidential Temperament And Caliber " of our presumptive presidential Nominees. We do talk about the "Judicial Temperament" of our Supreme Court Justices nominees and so far we have failed to talk about the " Presidential Temperament " of our presumptive presidential nominees. The " Presidential Temperament " is the ultimate and in my opinion only requirement of our president as that effects every living soul here and around the world.

    Thanks again.

The west has suffered a great deal as well. John McCain has been in Congress a lot longer than Barack and nothing has been done to change the GOP path of denial.

The west will vote overwhelmingly for Barack Obama.

Not to worry, by the time november comes around people will be sick and tired of the evil republicans and the even more evil john mcwar. Besides Americans can't afford john mcwar.

Nevada? I doubt it. Clinton & McCain each got 51% of their parties’ primary votes, with 59% of the Democratic female vote going to Clinton - and plenty of them are still mad at the way the DNC screwed her. New Mexico’s Bill Richardson? Doubt he carries much weight any longer and is mostly remembered by his lackluster showings during the debates and in the first primary and caucus contests. But then – who knows? He DID support and sign a bill into law that would ban cockfighting in New Mexico!

see here is a man who is for america going to these places to get people to hear his message give them a feel of something new. and people keep hollering about experience need to step back and realize that no president ever really had experience they had instinct and gut. they did what they thought was right at the time some good some bad. let's give him a chance no one knows except God what he is capable of and with God steering him in the right direction i think he'll do just fine. and about the logo it's just a logo this should not deterimine whether you vote for him or not stick to the issues and let's get focused.
