McCain says band-aids the result of hitting car roof

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/06/23/art.mccainbandaid.cnn.jpg caption=" McCain said Monday he hit his head on the roof of a car during his recent trip to Canada."](CNN) – John McCain hit the campaign trail Monday with two band-aids on the top of his head, leading a reporter to ask the Arizona senator why he was wearing them.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee, who has battled skin cancer in the past, said the band-aids were merely a result of hitting his head on the roof of a car.

“I was getting out of the car in Canada and I hit the roof a tiny bit, and the car was much smaller than the one I'm usually being ferried around in by the beloved Secret Service."

"It was a brush with a low hanging door," McCain also said.

Be careful next time, McCain. Get well soon. No offense, but this isn't a story worthy of the Political Ticker. Issues people, Issues.....

Why do so many people seize every opportunity to belittle a decent human being. Is this how you think you can win? Do you feel that by trashing the opponent every time he stumbles or opens his mouth, it will somehow make your guy miraculously appear to be qualified for the most important job in the world?

It is a good thing McCain is not a democrat. The democrats should be drivng or be ferried around only in vehicles that get greater than 35 mpg. (ie Yaris)

It's cancer showing up again, but he's going to blame it on a low roof....another lie.

  10. At least there is nothing of significance up there

I don't buy it ... who needs band-aids 3 days later from bumping their head on a car roof, or was it a car door? I mean, any healthy person doesn't need band-aids 3 days later for a small (alleged) contusion. He was in Canada 3 days ago ... if its still bleeding, he should see a dr about getting stitches.

In the Chicago Tribune today: June 23 2008
    Obama made an outrageous statement:

He meant it as a joke, but when Barack Obama recently parodied a famous line from "The Untouchables" he also dredged up the reputation of his longtime home as a place that is rough, raw and unlikely to breed reform.

"If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun," Obama said during a Philadelphia fundraiser, explaining the Chicago-style approach to hard-nosed politics.

    Obama is risky and scary.

Here's the spin to make him heroic:

Senator McCain, while aggressively campaigning in Canada, was in an auto accident. Despite injury to himself, he bravely and selflessly rescued the driver from the confines of the compact(ed) car. Despite great danger to himself, this man showed valor and leadership. This is a candidate who has faced terror, squared off with terrorists and walked away victorious with only minor injuries.

That's how this will resurface in about October.

This article gets 110 comments already, but no one commented on the Barr story or others that are relevent and could have an impact on the election and our future. Please read other articles and contribute something meaningful. Every comment seems to be generic comments using the name McBush, McSame, McShame, etc. or about how Obama is a turncoat. Comment about issues, and put some thought into them, rather then spouting talking points from your favorite candidate, party, or pundit. Thanks.

Did you know that in France, they have free healthcare and free public transportation for everyone? Here's the kicker, they have lower taxes and their minimum wage amounts to $15/hour USD. They also have a longer average lifespan. Just like our public school system here.. we DEMAND our children are educated yet.. we don't demand our government keep us healthy... what are we doing?

Are we going to scrutinize every little flaw of every person? There is way too much information available way too fast for an immature species to bear. The Internet might be the end of us all.

Please CNN, post a comment that doesn't hinge on Sen. Mccain's age or an unclever play on his name.

If it was a low hanging door, it means that the ceiling came down low, not a contradiction.

Moreover, he has secret service because he is the presidential nominee, not bc he is a senator. He actually has been vocal about not wanting the secret service.

The bandaid is on the top of his head not on his eye.

Not a news story, just a way for some writers agenda to be pushed.
