Obama: I am going to need Clintons

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/06/24/art.obamaneed.gi.jpg caption="Obama praised Bill Clinton in an interview with CNN."](CNN) – The same day that Bill Clinton’s office issued a statement saying that the former president is “committed to doing whatever he can” for Barack Obama, the Illinois senator told CNN that he and the Clintons will be “working closely together over the next couple of weeks to put together a plan.”

“They’re going to want to campaign actively on behalf of the Democratic ticket,” said Obama, “I am going to need them.”

“Bill Clinton is one of the most intelligent, charismatic political leaders that we have seen in a generation and he has got a lot of wisdom to impart,” he added.

Watch: Obama discuss the Clintons

Obama didn’t answer whether he’d spoken to the former president, but he did talk with Hillary Clinton on Sunday ahead of their joint campaign appearance on Friday in New Hampshire.

“[Senator Clinton’s] going to be a force to be reckoned with not only in the Senate but hopefully if I'm successful in the White House she's going to be one of my key partners in making sure that we’re moving forward on issues like healthcare that she cares so deeply about.”

UPDATE: Asked again if he will speak to Bill Clinton soon, Obama told reporters on his campaign plane, “I’m sure we will. He's in Europe right now which is the only reason we haven’t spoken. But we’re looking forward to setting up a long conversation."

Obama added that he spoke to Hillary Clinton on Tuesday and said they’re looking forward to campaigning together on Friday.

Hey, if you want HRC to fade into oblivion in the Senate, then vote for McCain. If any of you actually are REAL – not Operation Chaos – Hillary supporters, she could be a healthcare Czar or VP or a Supreme Court Justice under Obama!

It makes no sense to trash her (fading into oblivion in the Senate) because she lost!!

Listen Clinton supporters.......Regardless of how you feel about Obama, you have to admit he is trying to reach across to them as much as possible. He knows they will be instrumental in getting to the presidency and the key is BEYOND. Clinton could take up a place akin toTed Kennedy's role in the Senate and then after 8 years of an Obama administration could really ratchet up support so she could run again in 2016.

I LOVE this man ! He knows that this country needs fixing. He knows that Mc Cain " is not gonna cut it ". He is willing to put his pride aside and ask and accept the Clinton's help so that together we will make this country better for ALL Americans. THAT is what you call really caring and being sincere. Thank you Obama for being a "BIG MAN". You deserve and will be " OUR PRESIDENT " !

I can't wait to have a president who can't find his way around the capital without a map! What Obama and the DNC deserve is a Republican
senate and house. Then we'll see how much Change can happen. Oh, but I forgot. Obama is so powerful that he would welcome this because he can overcome anything as long as his speech is provided by someone else.

He avoids every situation where he has to think fast because he CAN'T DO IT. That's why he ran away from debates with Clinton and town hall meetings with McCain. He would demonstrate his lack of information in those settings. Obama is a PHONEY! My guess is he will be elected, though. And if you think we have problems now, just wait. I personally am looking forward to an entirely screwed up presidency with all the Obama followers blaming everyone else when nothing happens – we're all racists if we aren't impressed. I love the racist attack. It is such a turnoff that people who might otherwise vote grudgingly for Obama just can't make themselves reward the new improved American Racism offered by Mr. O.

We need to unite as a party, end of story. Obama is not as radical of a leftist and Hillary is not as right as people have claimed just to polarize the two. Either candidate is better than McCain, and therefore as a Hillary supporter I'm voting for Obama. I could care less about all the vitriol some Obama supporters are still saying about Hillary and her supporters; they aren't doing the Democrats any favors. I also can't understand the Hillary supporters that are going to McCain. If you really wanted McCain you should have been a Republican in the beginning, considering how similar Barack and Hillary's policies are.

For my part, I wish the Clintons and their entire SoLoGs (Sore Loser Groupies) would stay away. The famous Clintonite smiles are forced and Hill looks like the five-year-old who is being forced to kiss the old-maid aunt. She is being pushed into doing this by her surrogates who want to promote her 'good sportsmanship' for future endeavors, but she is bringing as much good will to this election as a bear at a picnic. Good Sportsmanship, for starters, requires a generous, considerate, ladylike/gentlemanly nature...also, very importantly, a sense of honor and fairness...all these are Clinton antonyms. The Clintons are convinced Obama needs them. I don't think so, and I wish our presidential nominee would prove me right.

    Vivenne:

Democrats are whiners. They eat their own young. There is nothing new in their behavior post-Clinton loss. History will be made, all right. Obama will win and be a loser. And we will pay the price. Nothing new at all.

I wish the Clintons would stay away from Obama, too. If elected, Obama will be one of the biggest disappointments as president ever, especially among young people who are expecting the big changes that Obama promises. Kerry and Kennedy will be stuck with that. At least the Clintons will be able to say I told you so.

Of course we need them, this is obvious. What we don't need, and cast down into the bowels of Hell are the Republican Trolls who keep spamming CNN with their childish remarks every day. We got news for you, joy-boys, we're fighting back, so hope you brought your boxing gloves. Hilllary let us use hers.

So let me get this right Obama thinks the Clintons where racist, and now he needs support from a racist?

He created hundreds of Anti Clinton attack ads and paid bloggers millions of dollars (I know, I was one of them) to attack Clinton on boards and now he wants there support.

Am I bitter because I was let go by Obamas camp because they did not need online bloggers anymore YES...

Obama is nothing new, but he has the race shield around him, if anything goes bad you can call the other person a racist (The info packs we got said to use that term on the boards).

To you Hillary supporters or republicans who claim to be hillary supporters. Are you all frickin serious, i guess we all want MCCAIN to be prez, wow! If you dont wanna vote for barack then just dont vote, but dont vote for Mccain please! I wonder what history will say if barack does turn this country around, catches Osama, troops out of iraq, etc etc, how will history judge or better yet how will you haters judge him? This campaign has nothing to do with race, although many would like to make it such, but has to do with my kids having a chance at a good life and you frickin hillary supporters are killing me with that she was cheated crap! You people better wake up fast, if not then accept disaster if McCain reaches the white house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are still seperated as a nation in the worst way!
