Obama over fist bumping?

Barack Obama and wife Michelle famously fist bumped when the Illinois senator captured the Democratic nomination.

Barack Obama and wife Michelle famously fist bumped when the Illinois senator captured the Democratic nomination.

(CNN) - Is Obama ditching his signature fist bump?

According to Tuesday's press pool report, the Illinois senator refused to bump fists with a boy as he was touring the Eastside Community Ministry in Zanesville, Ohio.

As the boy outstretched his first, Obama said no and added, "If I start that ..."

His voice then trailed off.

The presumptive Democratic presidential candidate popularized the move last month when he and his wife Michelle bumped fists on the night he formally captured the party's presidential nomination.

Watch: The famous fist bump

Video of the duo fist bumping became widely popular on the internet, leading the Washington Post to declare it “the first bump heard ‘round the world.'”

A cute, private moment by a couple on the national airwaves and now people are attacking Obama because they just don't like him.

It's fine to not like Obama but the fist bump was cute and a lot better than the 5 minute french kiss of Gore and Tipper! lol

Is there nothing this man can do or say that does not go under the gaze ever commenting press. Can't we get on to something important? Like Britney Spears? America, get a grip. Let's just vote for Obama and hope this entire election nitpickiness ends.

Fellows please give us all a break. Barack is essentially the ONLY choice for president. Put your hatred aside and give him a chance.

Do you REALLY want a warmonger like McCain who offers NO guarantee that he will even live long enough to complete his first term?? Not to mention his support of the 2 criminals in the white house now...
WMD lie will never be forgotten.

He should have done the bump. Had it been an adult or even a teenager, I could maybe see a more formal handshake, but it was a young boy. He could have sneaked it. 🙂 Bill would have done the bump. hahahahahahahahaha.

Just leave this man and his family alone! If you don't like him, don't vote for him. Get a Life! The man is one of the most decent powerful people out there. So sick of all the negative invalid comments about Obama.

It seems to me that America is in denial that a bi-racial candidate may become the next President of the United States. Never in my 40 year history as a political major have I witnessed total scrutiny of any candidate of the type of treatment that Barrack Obama is receiving. Watch the news media, papers, internet, etc.

Here is a test for you..... get a blank sheet of paper and write down all of the silly negatives that is being attached to Obama and compare them with McCain. Every step Obama makes or takes is analyzed. Uhmmm - and folks say it is not about race, but their hearts says otherwise (even conscientiously)

Now we got this stup issue about a hand bump.

Don't claim to be a Christian while being a hypocritical. And the worst part of all is that most Black American have never belittled Bush, Clinton, or any candidate like Obama is currently being treated.

A selection of candidate should be based on the issues, not on race - Black American having been doing this for years. So, I say to all other Americans, welcome to our world in choosing a candidate based on the issues impacting all Americans (in particular, the poor, women, and down trodden).

It is absurd to observe or suggest that Obama started the fist bump. Athletes have been doing it before Obama.

Just another way for CNN to paint Obama in a negative light. How come CNN you're not talking about McCain's every move???? Because he is your darling, maybe and you're afraid to cover his gaffs???

Hope Obama will not take Kerry's soft looser's habits. Conservatives will throw dirt anyway, there is no reasons to pay attention to them. Their boss, the president's son, should be happy not to be in jail, why – not even being impeached yet.

This is a valid news issue. It goes far to show that Obama has no authenticity. What is wrong with the fist bump/jab? He stopped doing it because he is calculating enough to know that it does not enhance his image. He is willing to hide his true self to get elected. He has already lied about Rvv. Wright, NAFTA, troops withdrawal from Iraq, capital gains tax, public financing for his campaign – and he is not even president yet. Can you imagine how much longer this list would be if he is given 4 years in office? That is what happens when you vote for someone who has never had to take a position on any difficult position, and instead simply voted "present", and who then presents his ambivalence to the world as "judgment". That is a fairy tale!

Obama for president is already change our lives, country, the world, and our way of doing politic. Obama's wife is very smart, interligent, and beautiful. Therefore, we give it up for the brother.

What the heck? I'm hardly an Obama supporter but I have nothing against a fist bump. Do it, Barak! Stop trying to play both sides of the fence and stand for SOMETHING ALREADY! Even if it's just a darn fist bump.

If America wasn't so hypocritical politicians could actually show their real personality, but instead they are forced to play it straight. Everything they do is scrutinized as if there is a perfect person out there without any flaws.
