Dem wants to ban future Roves from the White House

Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman, the chairman of the powerful House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, suggested to a Capitol Hill newspaper that he is considering legislation that bans the use of federal money to fund a position similar to the one the longtime Bush aide held in the White House.
Rove, who orchestrated both of the president's successful electoral victories, headed the White House's Office of Political Affairs and the Office of Public Liaison during Bush's first term. Democrats have long accused Rove of using those offices - which include interacting with political committees and interest groups - to essentially run the president's 2004 reelection campaign.
“Why should we be using taxpayer dollars to have a person solely in charge of politics in the White House?” Waxman told The Hill. “Can you imagine the reaction if each member of Congress had a campaign person paid for with taxpayer dollars?”
Ethics rules in the Senate are considerably clearer when it comes to conducting political business: congressional aides are banned from using government phones, e-mail, and computers for any politically-related job.
Waxman's office confirmed the accuracy of the quotes, but would not comment further.

Rove isn't some brilliant shining star. He helped orchestrate the most unpopular failed administration in modern American history. How smart does one have to be to achieve that?

This should have been done in the last century. It's not about liberal vs. conservative; it's about criminal vs. legal.
Rove is what got GW elected TWICE...With all the odds in Obamas' favor, McCain is still making it a close race. All of those states that voted before the Rev. Wright, Rezko incidents are seeing the side of him they did not see before they voted. The more we see of the real Obama the less we like him. If they knew then what they know now Hillary would be the nominee. I will write her name on my ballot in November, and let the chips fall where they may.

Another news headline, but highly doubtful if Dem can and will do anything meaningful about it. Dem has been trying to get at Rove for god-knows how long, and where is Rove now? Safe and sound.
To be sure, if the Dem has anyone has effective as Rove, Dem would not be in such shambles. But you know what, Obama looks pretty close to Bush in sticking-to-his-scripts, not-answering-questions, and Obama is one-up Bush in shifting positions. How brilliant – and we still have this whole herd chanting Change for this same-old-same-old Obama.

Lets see, Congress is at a 9% approval rating. I think Waxman and the rest of the House and Senate are grossly overpaid.
