McCain, Obama slam Iran

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/07/08/art.economy.gi.jpg caption="Obama and McCain have reacted to the Iran missile test."](CNN) - Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain said Wednesday Iran's missile test showcases the need for implementing a more effective missile defense system while his Democratic counterpart, Barack Obama, said the event highlights the need for more aggressive diplomacy with the rogue nation.

Watch: Iran tests missiles

"Ballistic missile testing coupled with Iran's continued refusal to cease its nuclear activities should unite the international community in efforts to counter Iran's dangerous ambitions," McCain said in a statement. "Iran's missile tests also demonstrate the need for effective missile defense now and in the future, and this includes missile defense in Europe as is planned with the Czech Republic and Poland."

"Working with our European and regional allies is the best way to meet the threat posed by Iran, not unilateral concessions that undermine multilateral diplomacy," McCain also said.

Obama, who has faced criticism for saying he would directly sit down with sworn enemies of the United States, told CBS Wednesday morning the test underscores the need for direct diplomacy.

"At this point, the report is unclear, it's still early," he said on CBS' The Early Show. "What this underscores is the need for a clear policy that is putting the burden on Iran to change behavior. And frankly, we just have not been able to do that the last several years, partly because we're not engaged in direct diplomacy."

Obama also said he will continue to push for an incentive package that seeks to deter Iran from its nuclear goals.

Isn't talking always better than shooting?
With talking at least we have a chance of a peaceful outcome.

When we shoot, it's more than likely someone will shoot back eventually and with more force.

    Talk unless attacked.

    Breathe more.

Report yesterday: McCain plays craps and throws the dice for a thrill. Obama plays poker and studies his cards carefully and with interest. I DO NOT WANT A CRAP PLAYER in the White House shooting dice for a thrill with my or my grandkids future!!

With the claims of foreign policy expertise, McCain doesn't have any clue about American companies investing in Iran. His (Bad) joke hides unsuccessfully the lack of knowledge.
How someone can prone to be tough and involved in “majors foreign policy decisions the past 26 years” and not aware about the application of those sanctions?

The answer is sample the only thing that may matter for him is to resolve all problems militarily and slams American leaders who had been always conservative (Prior Bush) in their way to use the force.
The diplomacy seems not be an option with McCain and that is very sad for someone who call himself conservative.

...'There is the old saying keep your friends close and your enemies closer.'
Since when has anyone kept their enemies close? It just plain doesn't work. John McCain knows what he is talking about...listen to him.

But Senator Obama, you said Iran was too small a country to be taken seriously. Geez!! You didn't realize they had long range missile capabilities? Maybe even nuclear. Now you're changing your tune. Could have been a costly mistake. No sir, you are not Presidential material.

As long as we make the Iranians feel insecure singing bomb Iran songs, they're going to keep stepping up their shows of strength and defiance. We would do the same if someone was threatening us.

Shaking our fists simply brings us closer to fighting. Cooler heads should prevail if we hope to avert ongoing warfare.

Jeez, the CNN headline right now says "Iran has finger on the trigger". Maybe we should get Obama going on that aggressive diplomacy without further delay! Help Obama! We love you! (Obama: "don't worry about it – they're not a big problem"). Phew! Thanks Obama. We love you.

I would LOL if I wasn't scared to death!

You think gas prices are high now just wait till the bombs start dropping on Iran and they cut off the flow of oil. Our hands are tied when it comes to Iran because we need their oil. Period. You think Russia and China are going to appreciate us going to war with Iran? Russia is already pissed about our missile defense plans. You think China is going to conitnue to loan us money to fight a war against someone they need just as much? Just wait. Iran will be the trigger for WWIII.

This whole worshipping of land goes against the first commandment which Jews, Islam, and Christianity beleive in. False idol. Israel needs to let them have the land and that will hopefully bring peace to the world. If death and destruction comes of us is for breaking GOD's commandment. Even the Native American believe that you don’t own the land the land owns you. Fighting over land is stupid and we are all gonna pay in the end!
