Campaign manager Rick Davis also said McCain was outspending Barack Obama on the airwaves by a wide margin.

this is why Barack opted out of public financing....this would have been happening anyway and he would be unable to compete financially.

anyone surprised by republicans buying an election? or that all the money is with the RNC, because the limits on donations to them is TEN TIMES the limit on donations to candidates?

Of course he is....especially with all the "closed door" fund raisers using lobbyist money as well as Cindy's zillions........and he's STILL behind in the polls.

McCain has the name recognition, dramatic hostage narrative and apparently now he has the money, but he is still behind and will stay there because Obama's demeanor and policy ideas are superior. Obama will win this election with a wide electoral margin and a popular vote margin of 5-10%.

Looks like CNN put McCain's head on Bush's body in this picture. What's going on?

And this statement was put out to divert the attention of CNN from Gramms earlier remarks in which he called America a country of "whiners". Do not worry McCain Camp CNN has already done the work for you and nearly buried the earlier story. Even Fox News gave the Gramm comments more coverage. CNN / The John McCain Network....

wow so much for Obama BUYING votes like so many said when Obama pulled out of public finance.
i guess Obama was right again, the public finance system as it is is flawed...ie. McCain's campaign found a loop hole which allows the RNC access to unlimited funds. seeing how McCain has some 59 lobbyist running his campaign it is not hard to wonder where the money came from...but who knows, may be all of those lobbyist and special interest groups contributed to McCains campaign because they where being nice...with no "favors" expected in return.
who's America in McCain running for? i mean the hardships we are experiencing are according to Gramm...in our heads...right?
john McCain...experience you've seen for the last 8 years

We love our country and we will contribute to McCain so that our sons and daughters fighting for your freedom will not have Obama as their

Sure and that money came from big banks and oil companys? McCain, UBS and Phil Gramm? McCain should change his name to Mclobbyist. Plus Cindy McCain is rich.

McSame couldn't buy enough votes to win this election no matter the campaign war chest amount.

After 8 years of bad economics under this Bush and after remembering 4 years of bad economics under the father Bush–Americans will not be fooled again by this Bush clone.

McCain is outspending Obama on the airwaves – because now is the only time they'll be able to compete. After the conventions McCain will be at a significant $$ disadvantage. Obama is still raising more and barely trying.

The Dems are waiting for the right moment... this doesn't mean the GOP is doing better.

Remember, Obama plans for a race, not a sprint. Remember super tuesday?

Really? Did Obama campain release the figures yet? I heard Obama's campain is advertising in more than 20 states and most of them are Republican states and should be spending more money on the air waves than McCain's campain. Obama decided to be out of public financing. He must know he can raise tons of cash.
