Former Pres. Bush 'a little jealous' of Obama

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/07/21/art.bush.sr.jpg caption="Former Pres. Bush spoke about Obama Monday."]
(CNN) - There’s been plenty of second-guessing from Republican critics about Barack Obama's large-scale public events and speeches scheduled for his visit to Europe this week - but former President George H.W. Bush isn't one of them.

Asked today whether, as a former head of state who has a sensitivity about protocol, he has any thoughts about the appropriateness of Obama's planned events, the former President replied, "A little jealous, is all."

The former president, who says he's just returned from a visit to Germany's Brandenburg gate, added that Obama will "figure it out."

For more on the stagecraft of Obama's world tour, tune into Campbell Brown: Election Center tonight at 8 pm ET.

kcmookie, while funny, that was just flat out wrong. 😉

Sounds like former President Bush recognizes that Senator Obama has strong momentum behind him and is in great shape to win the November election.

To close out, with another funny,
does anyone remember (have a link to) Dana Carvey's "1,000 points of light skit from SNL?" That was absolutely funny.

Obama admires Bush senior too, when Iraq invaded kuwait Bush senior sent troops to liberate Kuwait did that and pull out our troops after the mission was acomplished that was smart move. His son is an idiot the old bush knows it.

Who said a black man can't get a fair shake here in the US? Just about everyone, to one extent or another, and in their own way, seems to be kissing BO’s butt. Above we have the WASP approach to praising BO - understated, with a touch of self-deprecation. He truly is the Magic Negro. Oh wait, I'm sorry - that'd be the Magic Half Negro. Or Magic Half White. Or something.

If the Repubs think this is going to make them look more appealing to blacks, they've been smoking some seriously strong stuff.

I must admit I have a lot more respect for George H Bush than I ever will for GWB. GWB will gain a little respect if an when he leaves office without running his mouth making the republican party look more silly and out of touch with America.

By the way, with respect to Afghanistan, does anyone have a link of a video or at least a periodical, showing exactly when Senator Obama first announced that there should be an increase in the number of troops in Afghanistan?
I just heard, unbelievably, a conservative talking head say that Obama is trying to take credit for suggesting that torrps be increased there when in fact Senator McCain called for it?

He's jealous is a complimentary remark for OBAMA signifying that he wouldn't have minded if the media circus was around him during his days.

    OBAMA has a plan,
    McCain has Criticisms

    This Republican is for OBAMA.

McShame needs to take his afternoon naps because he is getting way too old. Just today on Good Morning America he stated that Iraq and Pakistan boarder when he was suppose to say Pakistan and Afghanistan...Poor man is losing it bad and the Republicans want him the White House...Can anyone Alzheimer's? Hit the rocking chair grandpa and get some rest....

Yes, he's jealous at the thought of Obama having the luxury of working with a media that is 100% in the tank for him. When Conservatives win, it should be congratulated TWICE as much, because they actually win against TWO opponents... a Democrat challenger and the rabidly socialist media that is ALWAYS in the bag for said Democrat challenger. When will the Feds require CNN to file as a 527?

I'm a Democrat, but I have always liked and respected GHWBush.
There's really no need to make fun of or try to analyze what he said.
It was an answer to a questioned asked; please get over it and be more civil.

Whites have to be more honest about racism. Bush Family are described as cartoonists by black writers. You will always have to read between the lines with these guys.

I'm an Obama supporter, but I agree with the people saying they would take GHW Bush over McCain any day. GHW did a decent job – the Berlin wall came down, the Cold war was finally over. At least he was a decent guy!

It's the new breed of Republicans that are so frightening....

A little jealousy is understandable since Obama has so much intelligence, grace, and style.......things his own son sorely lacks.
