Obama lands in Israel

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/07/22/art.obamaisrael.ap.jpg caption="Obama is now in Israel."](CNN) - Barack Obama landed in Israel Tuesday evening, telling members of the media one of his goals was to reaffirm the United States' "special relationship" with the country.

"The most important idea for me to reaffirm is the historic, special relationship between the United States and Israel," Obama said at Ben Gurion airport. "One that cannot be broken, one that I have affirmed through out my career, and one that I would intend to not only continue but actually strengthen in an Obama administration.

Obama also expressed sadness over an attack in downtown Jerusalem earlier Tuesday that injured five people. A Palestinian man rammed a construction vehicle into cars and buses before he was shot and killed near the hotel where Obama is scheduled to stay.

“It's just one more reminder of why we have to work diligently, urgently, and in a unified way to defeat terrorism," he said. "There are no excuses, and I am absolutely committed to working with the Israeli government to make sure these kinds of occurrences do not happen and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families that have suffered as a consequence of today's vicious attacks."

At least Obama knew Iraq and Pakistan don't share a border or it is not Checoslovaquia as an inexperinced leader compared to very and fully experinced McPain!

I cannot belive how a POW (McPain) could be a strong supporter of wars. Does he ever think about the destructions and the killings happened in those days?

Wow what Obama can do BEFORE he is even President. If this is a preview of what to expect...I think the whole world is sold as him leading the way in a new era of American diplomacy and peacemakers.

David, The land of your forefathers will cease to exist if Obama becomes President. Apparently you haven't studied this man as many of us have. He will do and say anything to get elected. That is his goal and only goal.

The people of Israel aren't sure they trust you, but they do trust Hillary Clinton. Choosing her as your V.P. would help shore up the Jewish vote come November. Reason number 764 to choose her as your running mate.

Lisa...no one has ever considered him a god...and as a supporter...I don't believe he can walk on water. Only One was able to do that and as far as I have read in my bible...he never subscribed to the kind or ridiculous fear mongering and condemnation that I have seen the "conservatives" attack with.

A presidential candidate goes to Israel during the campaign to build relations, in the hopes of becoming the President of the United States...Ohmigosh...the world is coming to the end. Just let the campaign continue and vote for who your conscious tells you to vote for...then we'll see who's president.

Lisa, one question...Who should Obama debate. I know you done know the answer. Voters like you put America in it's current dilema by voting for Bush twice. Obama is the best thing for America nationally and internationally.

What I'M tired of is McCain tired townhall meetings!!!

I see Obama is already bilking the US taxpayers. Apparently, he is using taxpayer money to fly around the Middle East and Europe using a jet with his campaign logo.

    Now THAT'S CHANGE!

Oh for Pete's Sake...Give it up already will you? She was beaten fair and square by rules she agreed to. She proved she can't be trusted by being caught in stupid lies. Who are you to say Isreal trusts Sen. Clinton more than Sen. Obama? Forget about it Doc, he isn't going to pick a land mine like the bankrupt Senator.

    Sweetie,

Exactly what has Obama done to the Jewish community that would make the Jewish vote out of reach? Other than the lies about him being muslim which people like perpetuate.

WHY IS IT that all of our politicians can be counted on to agree on one thing–support for the terrorist state of Israel? This shows me that our elections are a sham. The DEMOCRATS, REPUBLICANS, and MEDIA make up a single party who, like professional wrestlers, act like they're at each others' throats but really only put on a show. The truth is that they collude to keep you, the public, unaware of what is going on, happily funding America's demise.

I'm willing to bet that none of you know that before we established Israel on Palestinian land, the U.S. was loved throughout Southwest Asia. George Gallup did a poll between the close of WWII and 1948 which demonstrates this.

They hate us because we give Israel what it needs to occupy stolen land, and it isn't just "teh terrorists." Indeed, if you turn the TV off long enough to take part in a once-popular American past-time and think about it, you would see that you would hate us too if the roles were reversed.

    Dump Israel! Now!

In the news conference I watched today,Obama sat on the fence and almost made you feel sorry for the Palestinians–typical Obama–I thought our friend was Israel, not Palestine. When he gets through with this tour, we will look like a nation of turncoats to the world. The dictator regime leaders must be clapping in glee.

Bean counter, that's downright mean. After all, since you obviously forgot, he has a wife, 2 daughters, a sister, grandparents, etc.

I guess in another way, what has he done to you wish that he could never step foot in his ocountry again?
See, when you and other hate-filled people speak, all you do is make serious people recognize your ignorance and then we say, well, if that goof ball with unspeakable ideas is supporting McCain, and I would never think that about either of these candidtes, why then would I vote for McCain?
While at it, I think I'll suggest you go read Ephesians 4:29.
That's in the New Testament, towards the back of the Bible. Good luck.

  25. What?

And do you notice that its all the angry women Hillary supporters who keep saying,"oh he is so full of himself.." Are you kidding? Of Course he's confident, you have to be to run for President. Do you not think Hillary is not full of herself? Get over it. Vote for McCain and watch your rights go out the window. Hillary is not running again in 2012.
