Obama lands in Israel

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/07/22/art.obamaisrael.ap.jpg caption="Obama is now in Israel."](CNN) - Barack Obama landed in Israel Tuesday evening, telling members of the media one of his goals was to reaffirm the United States' "special relationship" with the country.

"The most important idea for me to reaffirm is the historic, special relationship between the United States and Israel," Obama said at Ben Gurion airport. "One that cannot be broken, one that I have affirmed through out my career, and one that I would intend to not only continue but actually strengthen in an Obama administration.

Obama also expressed sadness over an attack in downtown Jerusalem earlier Tuesday that injured five people. A Palestinian man rammed a construction vehicle into cars and buses before he was shot and killed near the hotel where Obama is scheduled to stay.

“It's just one more reminder of why we have to work diligently, urgently, and in a unified way to defeat terrorism," he said. "There are no excuses, and I am absolutely committed to working with the Israeli government to make sure these kinds of occurrences do not happen and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families that have suffered as a consequence of today's vicious attacks."

Obama is not qualified to even "act" like commander in cheif.
He should be bragging about McCain's position and experience in the Military.
What does he have in his resume: I am a Chicago politician with anti American friends.

Bean counter, that's downright mean. After all, since you obviously forgot, he has a wife, 2 daughters, a sister, grandparents, etc.

I guess in another way, what has he done to you wish that he could never step foot in his ocountry again?
See, when you and other hate-filled people speak, all you do is make serious people recognize your ignorance and then we say, well, if that goof ball with unspeakable ideas is supporting McCain, and I would never think that about either of these candidtes, why then would I vote for McCain?
While at it, I think I'll suggest you go read Ephesians 4:29.
That's in the New Testament, towards the back of the Bible. Good luck.

And MIke, from 5:29, you're right. Obama even said, we only have one President at a time. So even when you and your ilk espouse venom, he still comports himself in a mannerable way. Too bad you can't.
And, to be honest, some Obama supporters as well. But from what I see, more McCain supporters than Obama.

Mike, you can't even get your insults right... it was 57 states Obama referred to when he slipped up as opposed to 57 CONTEST...
Lets face it... you and Lisa hate him, because ..... (i don't know...) my guess is because you are paid to.... (and he 'did' have a great uncle liberate a death camp... he just got the name wrong... BUT HE KNOWS WHERE THE BORDERS OF AFGHANISTAN AND PAKISTAN ARE... AND HE KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SUNNI AND SHIITE... oh, and wait... he also knows that Czeckloslovakia... DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE...

and Lisa... geez... i was gonna ask what planet you were on, but it is obviously planet republican...

could your 'reasons' for not liking him be MORE pathetic
(He's just the average man from Chicago with no experience sliding his way through the process without debating)-
you may as well have said... "talkingpoint, whaa-whaa, talkingpoint, blah-whaaaaa)

what is all this diplomacy and "talks" nonsense, what's obama trying to do, achieve peace in the middle east?!?!?!

"when he said the US had 51 states" MIKE, TX you need to get your own FACTS straight-obama said he had visited 57 states! and if anyone thinks obama doesnt know how many states they are, you're silly. saying "57 states" is NOTHING compared to ALL of mccain's complete lies and mis-statements; he doesnt even know who's fighting who and what countries border each other in the middle east--yeah, THERE'S an excellent candidate who's STRONG on foreign policy! "pathetic" is a MUCH more appropriate description of mccain!

obama did not choose to have the press follow him. obama is their dream story, they'd be stoopid not to cover his visit. they know he's the next president of our great country, and this visit is the very beginning of peace-as much as is possible in the region-being restored in the middle east!

The media does love Obama. However, it's for a reason. Certainly, he's not a god. He's not perfect. I'm sure he makes mistakes on a daily basis.

But, when you've lived through the divisive fear-mongering which is today's American politics and foreign policy, he is a truyly refreshing voice and the WHOLE WORLD acknowledges this.

The only thing the haters here are hating is the fact that there's nothing this man does wrong... except his outer appearance and name.

I have a lot of hateful messages about both sides... but I have yet to see Obama do anything which is outright wrong or offensive.

The world is praying that our country is progressive enough to look past race... because the whole world wants Obama to be the president.

The world literally fears McCain. They know with McCain in office... diplomacy and peace are out the window.

He says he knows how to win wars? Which war did he win? I know it wasn't Vietnam because we didn't win that war. Maybe he's talking about this war here... but according to him we haven't won... wait.. according to him we have won... wait.. according to him leaving would be surrender... wait.. according to him we already won.. wait... I'm having a senior moment 🙂

    Farrakhan supports Obama.
Read about his anti Semitic beliefs anywhere and you'd not be excitied about seeing Obama in your country.
Farrakhan had a rally of over 20,000 Nation of Muslam members a few months ago in Chicago.
Lou Dobbs covered Farrakhan, but apparently anti American or anti Semitics aren't a big deal to Obama maniacs.

Obama is risky and scary. Do your research.

    Hey Janey,
Hillary lost, stop trying to stir up trouble. Your canidate lied, she ran a terrible campaign, she lost it herself. So you can on blaming everyone but her if it makes you feel better but you know deep down Clinton did this to herself. I tried to keep quiet the past couple months out of respect for Clinton but come on....give me a break. All you are doing now is making sure she will never get elected again.

Wow ... the effort to distract America from Senator Obama's ground breaking trip is amazing.

1.) McCain VP speculation in the campaign's self admitted effort to steal the spotlight

2.) McCain trotting out surrogate after surrogate (all no names and has beens) to attack Obama

3.) McCain "yelling at clouds" .... IT's THE SURGE, I tell ya!

4.) McCain attempting to bash Obama in the NYT rather than lay out HIS PLAN for Iraq and Afghanistan .... troop levels, objectives, resources, costs, schedule, hurdles, etc.

5.) The gas pump AD .... a blatant LIE

6.) McCain kicking Gramm to the curb under the darkness of night

    7.) TBD

    8.) TBD

    9.) TBD

The debates are going to be fun to watch. Can't wait to see McCain blow his top once Obama puts McCain in his place. Why are the McCain supporters so anxious to see McCain publically humiliate himself?

Obama's stance is a lot stronger than McCain's in many different areas. Obama doesn't have to wait on McCain – McCain has to wait on Obama. Besides, McCain isn't going to have nothing new to say [criticize is more like it] during any debate.

This man, Barack Hussein Obama, is totally LOST. Why, oh WHY, is this man running as a candidate for President? He is so totally under qualified and completely inexperienced. There is no way that this man can be President and accomplish the work. Obama Now shows to the World that he is Lost!!! Not only does it show on his face, but in his speech. Obama's bravado is GONE WITH THE WIND!

What a gimmick. When you meet the Israelis say that you are with them and when you meet Palestinians, say you are with them. Barack will be the most dangerous president for Israel. He will sit with Ahmedinejad and sell Israel to iranians. Watch out.

To those of you that constantly make debate comments about Obama... and that Hillary out-debated him... you guys have short memories.

Obama schooled her at every single debate except for one.. that one debate where the orators did nothing but throw mud and slams at both the candidates rather than talking about any issues. On that one debate.. Obama got flustered and pissed off... where Hillary was ok with it... but she's used to dealing with mud.

All the other debates... Obama schooled her. In fact.. it was shortly after the debates that Hillary would take Obama's lines and use them as her own... the most conspicuous one was "We give the military leaders the orders and agendas, and they decide how to carry out those orders in the most responsible way... the military does not give us the orders and agendas"

So enough of Obama slamming on the debates. Every other debate, everyone was saying how presidential, poised, and intelligent Barack was.
