Obama lands in Israel

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/07/22/art.obamaisrael.ap.jpg caption="Obama is now in Israel."](CNN) - Barack Obama landed in Israel Tuesday evening, telling members of the media one of his goals was to reaffirm the United States' "special relationship" with the country.

"The most important idea for me to reaffirm is the historic, special relationship between the United States and Israel," Obama said at Ben Gurion airport. "One that cannot be broken, one that I have affirmed through out my career, and one that I would intend to not only continue but actually strengthen in an Obama administration.

Obama also expressed sadness over an attack in downtown Jerusalem earlier Tuesday that injured five people. A Palestinian man rammed a construction vehicle into cars and buses before he was shot and killed near the hotel where Obama is scheduled to stay.

“It's just one more reminder of why we have to work diligently, urgently, and in a unified way to defeat terrorism," he said. "There are no excuses, and I am absolutely committed to working with the Israeli government to make sure these kinds of occurrences do not happen and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families that have suffered as a consequence of today's vicious attacks."

Enlightened Voter: You've obviously fallen for this Fraud, Obama. Too bad. Obama's shirt is still as EMPTY as it was when he was running for the nomination..........and so totally inexperienced and unknown that he'll FAIL before he'll ever, ever succeed. Further, the United States has ONLY the Lying Media to tell us about his trip to the Mideast. WHO believes the Media these days?

Obama is well received in all of the countries he is visiting. Obama is correct in what he is doing & getting high praise from all the foreign leaders. Obama has the right foreign policy. He has been right from the beginning & he has continued to be right. By the way; I agree with all the comments from Lee,Dallas, Texas.

I see a lot of pseudosupporters making ridiculous comments about Obama being the Messiah or other such horse crap. Those are not Obama supporters, those are sarcastic republicans. True Obama supporters know that WE are going to save America from the neoconservatives. We are donating time and money to help Obama, we are doing it to help ourselves and giving ourselves the power to change our communities and our national direction.

I am a Bush #41 fan and am very disappointed in Bush #43. But we can make up for the error. OBAMA '08.

Listen Mc cain this article is draith for you:

Mc cain you cant win in Iraq, if you want to win over there on your own, a lot of your soldiers will continue to be killed, also you will need the help of your allies and even so.

Ok you can secure a zone but the war that the US are facing is a difficult war to win. the reason is that the terrorist will fight mainly against you like they do against Israel. By using attentats against the civil and the soldiers.
A undred years won't change anything, look israel since hom many years are they trying to solve their problems with the Palestinians… until when One day BOOM an other attentat in Jerusalem.

Check on wikipedia and you will see how many civil have been killed in Iraq by attentats since the beginning of this ridiculous war . It's true that Saddam was a dictator but now day by day people are living within insecurity and fear.
Let say that before the war everything was fine. (if not)
Also when the US army will leave Iraq may be things will become difficult in Iraq like now in Afghanistan. So now how is going to look after the Iraqis people?
Talking with your enemies is always better than : Yeah we have to destroyed Iran because they don't listen to us. joker.

Did you forget all the muslim countries in the world?
You can't just come and say ok let's have a war because it could happen that a stupid war be a the third world war.

Iran is not Iraq, Saddam was not seen as a good man in his own nation but the president of Iran is seen differently in is community.

    Encore merci (Once again merci)

Wheres the actual policies? Will he demand that Irael stop building on the West Bank. Does he think Jerusalem should be a joint capital or not? All this talk of peace but what exactly is he going to do to achieve it. Now is the time for answering questions not signing autographs.

It's time to move this country forward and establish long term relationships and partnerships to help us fight global terrorism. The cowboy mentality needs to move on. Obama is articulate and has the talent, skill and foresight to make Americas foreign policy strong and respected once again..

Obama is full of himself, then what do call that condescending senile warmonger that can't say two sentences without praising himself and calling his opponents naive. You republicans are disgusting from top to down and lie as easy as people drink water.

What right does Obama have to reaffirm anything? He's not the President yet, and he doesn't speak for the US.

Mike what planet do you live on? 4,100 soldiers are dead, trillions of dollars waisted, our economy is down the drain, no OBL yet, 7,000 Americans loosing their homes a day, and all these parting gifts given to us by John McCain and the Republican Party....not liking Obama is one thing, but don't like him because of his policies (if you even know what they are, i suggest you go to his website and read). otherwise have a great day!
