Obama lands in Israel

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/07/22/art.obamaisrael.ap.jpg caption="Obama is now in Israel."](CNN) - Barack Obama landed in Israel Tuesday evening, telling members of the media one of his goals was to reaffirm the United States' "special relationship" with the country.

"The most important idea for me to reaffirm is the historic, special relationship between the United States and Israel," Obama said at Ben Gurion airport. "One that cannot be broken, one that I have affirmed through out my career, and one that I would intend to not only continue but actually strengthen in an Obama administration.

Obama also expressed sadness over an attack in downtown Jerusalem earlier Tuesday that injured five people. A Palestinian man rammed a construction vehicle into cars and buses before he was shot and killed near the hotel where Obama is scheduled to stay.

“It's just one more reminder of why we have to work diligently, urgently, and in a unified way to defeat terrorism," he said. "There are no excuses, and I am absolutely committed to working with the Israeli government to make sure these kinds of occurrences do not happen and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families that have suffered as a consequence of today's vicious attacks."

People you have to just accept the fact that Obama is presidential material. It is in his DNA Just look at him over seas with these Foreign leaders. the Foreign leaders looks very excite over Obama the leaders is looking for fresh and new policy current ideas for this country. Clearly Mccain is not the man Mccain is more of the same as Bush and will not offer new ideas.

It cracks me up to see PUMA losers and other circus freak right wingers calling Obama "ignorant" and a "moron". Are you people so ignorant yourselves that you don't even know what these words mean? Obama is highly educated and articulate. Tell me you don't like some of his policies and I'll listen. Rant like an idiot and you'll be called out for it.

Since he thinks he has the answers to the worlds problems why doesn't he just stay over there?? I think they need him to solve the thousand of yrs of their fighting, and problems more than we do. We have a lot of capable people here to run things if we just had capable voters to elect them,

I think Obama is good at bridging gaps, bringing real change, and talking about things openly. But WHY must the US have such a "special" relationship with Israel (i.e. we give them tons of money for weapons) and no one else? Actually, why must we give so much military aid to anyone??? Israel can defend themselves. They have nuclear weapons and so do we. Why do we get all scared when someone else tries to get them? These are the questions Obama and McCain need to start answering!

I see Obama is already bilking the US taxpayers. Apparently, he is using taxpayer money to fly around the Middle East and Europe using a jet with his campaign logo.

    Now THAT'S CHANGE!

    ___________________________________________

Mike, you appear to be confused.

The presumptive nominee who made all of his trips at taxpayer's expense is McCain.

Obama's travel the first part of this week (until he got to Jordan) was sponsored by the Pentagon as a congressional investigation (Senators Obama, Hagel and Reed) at taxpayers' expense.

Obama's travel on the jet with his logo (from his arrival in Jordan until he gets back here) is paid by his campaign ... and you would be hard put to find any donor who doesn't think he or she got their money's worth many times over.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY REPUBLICANS THINK THAT PEOPLE WHO LIKES OBAMA AS A CANDIDATE VIEW HIM AS A "GOD/ROCKSTAR".

I THINK REPUBLICANS THINK WE THINK OBAMA IS A GOD/PROCKSTAR IS BECAUSE THEY CAN'T STAND THE FACT THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS GREAT ADMIRATION AND SUPPORT FOR A BETTER CANDIDATE AND THUS, THEY ARE STARTING TO THINK HE MIGHT REALLY BE A "GOD/ROCKSTAR" WHICH SCARES THEM.

LIKE THE WISER BUSH SAID: "JUST A LIL JEALOUS, ATS AL"

    STOP THE MADNESS. VOTE OBAMA.

scary to think this country may not elect him... once in a generation candidate and 50% of the country too bull-headed or stupid to look past their party lines and vote for him.

    PUMA-SE
You rang?? I think that you have your candidates mixed up. That was McCain who didn't know what Middle East countries border on which. It is McCain who forgets what he does and doesn't vote on. That was McCain who forgot that Czechoslovakia is no longer....need I say more.
It sorta looks like you might really be on our side after all. A PUMA couldn't be that ignorant of the real facts, could they??

A bunch of words and doesn't say anything.
Oh yes, other countries love us. You will notice they call for us when they desparatley need help.
Why is Obama and his supporters so adamant in denying he is a muslim.?? If he thought they were such good people he/they should be admitting to it and saying he is proud of it. Think about it if you are capable of thinking beyond a headline or campaign spin.
So, he has picked up McCains and Bushes Iraq goal. Another switch.
I wonder what he thinks of the madrasa Saudi funded schools right here in good old USA. maybe it will be thought about after the Islamists take over from Spain to China and they have collapsed our economy.

It's not about Obama's color. It's about experience and service to the country. McCain has fought the wars and has been in politics for years. Obama is just a ONE YEAR senator of IL. So what is that? No matter what, Bush is heading from office, so that is given BIG CHANGE! So what CHANGE can Mr. Obama give? Change white to black? Make poor to rich? Pay off somebody's debts, buy people a new car, make gas back to 0.99 cents a gallon? WHAT CHANGE IS HE TALKING ABOUT? All these promises his talking about ALL THESE CHANGE is all a given. WHAT GUARANTEE CAN HE GIVE TO MAKE A GOOD CHANGE? IS HE PLAYING GOD NOW THAT HE WILL MAGIC? He needs more experience and proof of service to the country. If Ms. Rice will run as a President, then she is a good candidate. She showed the world her capabilities!

SO FOR THOSE WHO ARE BLINDED WITH ALL GIMMICKS ABOUT CHANGE, DOOM IS COMING FOR THEM!

    Rick:
I choose the candidate that had the foresight to know that Iraq was the wrong place to be, that we really needed to focus on Afganistan; where the plot for 9/11 originated.

I choose the candidate that is not going to pander to Americans with a stupid gas tax holiday.

I choose the candidate that believes we need to pull out of Iraq. The Iraqi government even AGREES with him.

    I choose BARACK OBAMA.

It will be so nice to have a President who is respected around the world. Our reputation is not what it once was. On a recent Tour abroad with my mother when asked where we were from, we got the look of pity and the "oh your 're American", then the conversation quickly changed to Obama. To Europeans it not a black white issue but who they think is competent to lead. Two of our tour mates from New Zealand are actually coming to the US in November for the election , sightseeing, and the promise of a thanksgiving dinner. We are a global society the world is watching.

Wonder Boy morphed first into Hillary, then to her right (FISA vote), and is now heading toward McCain! (More troops needed NOW in Afghanistan and we'll leave a lot in Iraq, too, for who knows how long – maybe 100 years???) It's wonderful to watch, although I guess some cultists are disappointed. Personally, I'm not disappointed at all – Obama is everything I thought he would be. (Oops, I'm snickering again...there I go.)

CHANGE!! Really? Every day CHANGE seems to be moving off into the distance.................oh, well.

A clear case of someone (read Obama) demonstrating that is it now possible to full all of the people all of the time. Well, almost all.

    Kathy...
The man is so full of himself. All he does is talk, he doesn't have the guts or experience to be President. What a loser.

.... and he is a graduate of Harvard
....and he is a constitutional scholar
....and he is a Professor and former editor of the harvard Law Review
....and he is a former State Senator in Illinois
....and he is a CURRENT United States Senator
....and he is THE current presumptive Democratic Nominee for President of the United States of America

    and YOU are.......???????

    To All Obama Supporters:

The campaign is going to get nastier and nastier. It's difficult because the McCain camp realizes they are not going to get what you want. They'll say anything to change someone's mind. They're losing ground and they're running around like crazy people shouting "fire". It won't work, we've lived through the "WORST ADMINISTRATION IN MODERN HISTORY", with the "WORST PRESIDENT IN MODERN HISTORY". We re ready to take our country back because we are sick of the lies and deceptions.

Obama will win the presidency and John McSame and his ilk should get over it.
