McCain to meet with Dalai Lama

(CNN)—Presumptive Republican nominee John McCain is set to meet with the Dalai Lama Friday in Colorado.
The Tibetan political and spiritual leader will be a keynote speaker at a three-day seminar at the Aspen Institute as part of a greater celebration of Tibetan Culture where he will also meet with McCain. McCain is expected to speak at the American GI Convention in Denver Friday morning, and will make the trip to Aspen to meet with the Dalai Lama later in the afternoon.
Often referred to as “His Holiness,” the Dalai Lama has lived in exile in Dharamsala, India since the Chinese occupied Tibet in 1959.
In April, McCain urged China to engage the spiritual leader in discussions on the future of Tibet.
"Our relationship with China is important,” the Arizona senator said in a statement. “But the Chinese government needs to understand that in our modern world, how a nation treats its citizens is a legitimate subject of international concern... I urge the government of the People's Republic of China to address the root causes of unrest in Tibet by opening a genuine dialogue with His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, aimed at granting greater autonomy.”

Perhaps the holy one can cast a magic spell and reverse the senility and the near constant gaffe-ness that has stricken McCain.
Maybe he can pray for him for his support of going into Iraq, killing innocents and distroying the Catholic Church in Iraq. At least Saddham had Catholics in his cabinet. They were free to worship. Most of them have been either killed or fled. I am certain the Dali Lama can understand that. Maybe he can explain that to McBush.
People should not see meeting between the HHDL and Senator Maccain from the political angle. Rather HHDL is known for a respected spritual leader round the world, hence Sen Maccain meeting with him is nothing wrong in it. I can understand the Chinese Govt will certainly not like this, because they are yet to learn the true value of freindship and how important is meeting & communicating with other is important. They are like dog tails " one can never succeed in straightened dogs tail by whatever means he/she tries".
The Dalai Lama can't help him only a Psychiatrist who specializes in Dementia.
Now this is the kind of stuff I like to hear from McCain. Please, no more of this "flip flop surge media bias" yapping.

Wow, a meeting of an eastern peace advocate and a western war maverick. Hope McCain doesn't try to explain why the surge worked again.
Good for McCain and I hope he nails Obama on not visiting the wounded troops in Germany but doesn't mind putting his mug on camera for non-Americans.
I also heard McWar will be visiting with MICKEY MOUSE.

McCain will press his strategy of surging into Tibet. He says, "Obama is just dead wrong in not supporting the Tibetan surge strategy and without the surge, the creation of a Dalai Lama wouldn't have happened. Remarkable, just remarkable."

I believe that the Dalai Lama understands that despite religious convictions–political leaders in the "real world" must defend their nations interests and preserve it's security. If Tibet had a Commander-In-Chief like McCain the Dalai Lama might actually be living back home right now.
We need a President who will preserve our way of life and defend our nation against attacks foreign and domestic. Thankfully, most educated men and women understand you can BS your way to the elections–but to become the protector and defender of the nations way of life–it must be part of your value system to do so willingly without regard for personal gain or safety–and you can't BS that.
That is a bad idea. Keep focusing on our economy, MAN...
