(CNN) – No, she’s not leaving politics, but she is still trying to retire more than $25 million of campaign debt.
Sen. Hillary Clinton’s Web site is advertising a contest to win a summer “retirement dinner” with the former presidential contender. The price for a chance to win is a contribution to her creditors.
“Summer is a time for simple pleasures: family vacations, baseball games, and dinner out under the stars,” Clinton’s e-mail to supporters says. “At least it is if you aren't running for president! It sure is nice having a little more time on my hands, and I'd love to spend some of it with you.”
Those interested in helping Clinton retire the debt can pay from $10 to more than $2,300 for a chance to win the dinner and “talk about whatever you’d like.” The campaign’s site doesn’t say where the winner will dine with the senator, but it mentions that round-trip transportation and the total value may run $3,000.
According to the latest filing with the Federal Elections Commission, as of June 30 Clinton is $25 million in debt, over $13 million of which is owed to herself.
You obviously live in opposite world.
– you want the troops out of Iraq, McCain says why not 100 years.
– you want universal health care, McCain calls it "Socialism"
– you want lower taxes, McCain says the rich first
I'm beginning to think that "Sweetie" actually means "Sh!tty".
Mccain should join to hillary for the retirement dinner he really needs to retire
The DNC needs MONEY for Obama's party in Denver.
So – all Obamabots should be working 2 and 3 jobs this summer to send money.
Oh darn, when I first saw the article, I thought SHE was retiring from politics....just another plea for money from her strapped contributors.
Good luck with that Hillary.
Hillary will soon be free of debt and that will tell her/PUMA's real strength. Obama's money can't buy PUMA's votes.
I can not identify with him or his supporters whom I call DOLCANOS – Dollar spewing volcanos.
how much you wanna bet that the 'winner' is the person who donates the most.....somebody she can talk into 'helping' her more.
I'd rather contribute another $25 to Obama for a chance to go to the convention, than any to Senator Clinton for lunch, and that's a fact!!! Remember when all of you PUMA's were complaining about Obama doing this? Now Hillary is doing the same with her lunch idea....If it weren't for all of you PUMA's and your nasty comments about Obama, I and many other Obama supporters would feel different about helping out Senator Clinton.
Obama/Biden (hopefully) or ????
she is already stated she will not seek any money to pay herself, a lot of her donors have tapped out (under the maximum donation guidelines) so this makes it difficult... there are a lot of people that would love to help her but can't because of the rules... so become more educated before you spew your venom. I'm maxed out $2500 if I could I would donate more... but my government will not let me
Bummer, I thought Hillary might be announcing her retirement from public life.
Charlotte... you are incredibly immature! Why bother having a process... if you cannot accept the end results! Grow up for goodness sakes.
Oops, excuse me, I should have said dinner with Senator Clinton....
SENATOR PAY NO MIND TO THESE KNOW IT ALL OBO FANS.
ONE THING GORE TAUGHT US IT IS GOOD TO HAVE THE LAST LAUGH!
THAT'S WHY I WILL NOT CAST MY VOTE FOR OBAMA. I'LL HELP YOU WITH YOUR DEBT, BUT NO VOTE FOR THE OBO!
am sure PUMA will attend . lol

"Her predicament is a great illustration of how the democrats spend money. They spend us into debt and when that happens they just raise taxes to pay for their bloated social programs. Shes $25,000,000 in the hole and begging for money while Ron Paul has a $5,000,000 surplus and is holding his own convention."
Pat I hardly think you are in any position to talk about Democrats spending the country into anything when George W. Bush inherited a $128 billion surplus from the Clinton administration. We now have a debt of what? $485 billion? Come on. Do your research. I do think Hillary Clinton's campaign was irresponsible in their spending; lacking a plan after Super Tuesday, and ignoring long standing delegate math. But you can't apply the "Democrats spend too much" to all Democrats. People need to learn to think for themselves and not just spit back whatever they hear on TV.
I'm putting my money in. Talking to Hillary will make actual bills the becomes laws than Obama and his 'Speech to Nowhere'.
You (and yours) are the most puzzling of them all. It is on the issue of illegal immigrants that Hillary and Barrack differed the most, and do you know how? During the L.A. debate at the Kodak Theater, these two questions and responses make me wonder why Mexican Americans dislike Barrack and love Hillary:
Q1. Should illegals have drivers licenses? HRC-no, BHO-yes
Q2. What are you going to do about the epidemic of illegals taking low paying jobs from African-Americans? BHO-illegals are not responsible for unemployment in the Black community. HRC-let's face it, illegals are taking jobs from Black people.
Regardless of who is right on these two questions, I can't understand why Mexican-Americans are pulling for HRC over BHO based on these responses. I also encourage you to look into the type of work Barrack has done for illegals while in Chicago.
It bugs me to no end that I send money monthly to retire a debt that shouldn't have been made, for a candidate that I didn't want, that purposefully and willfully damaged the party, for a campaign that wasted EVERY advantage, and for a candidate who's supporters (at least some of them) are actively trying to win the election for the other side.
Still, I see us as being on the same side and am a strong believer in teamwork, you know hang together or hang separately.
PUMAS are not democrats a real democrat would vote democrat hell and high water with the situation the country is in. Heck, I'm so desperate for a Democrat in the White House that I'd still vote for Hillary, even if she steals the nomination, though I grant I'm not a core Obama supporter and care far more about policy than personality.
I'd probably have her on as short a leash as McCain or Dubya, as far as EVER getting my vote again but no way I squander the nation's future to have vengence.
From many of the comments it would appear that someone failed to lock down the computer at the drug rehab center today.
Please folks, go out and find yourself a life if this is all you have to offer.
Hmmm donate $10 or $2300 to have the same chance at winning the dinner...
I'd donate $10 to keep her away.
That is just Hill-AR-ious! It has been such a nice summer not seeing her bugged out eyes with that fake open mouthed smile. Can't get the image out of my head...now I'm starting to hear that God awful cackle again and that shrieking voice.... Now you've done it CNN...you have ruined the whole month of August for me. It will take that long for the voices and images to leave.
Where are all those Hill-Raisers when you need them?
The bots are out in full mode today, to bad their nasty arrogant attitudes will cost their empty suit to go down in flames.
THANK YOU OBAMA SUPPORTER FOR CONTINUING WITH YOU BIAS AND HATE AGAINST HILLARY CLINTON. YOU JUST PROVED OBAMA IS NOT WORTH SUPPORTING.
YES! THE PARTY INFIGHTING IS CONTINUING.
As an Obama supporter, I have really considered contributing to Hillary, but the more I hear about PUMA (who is reportedly 2 million strong), and the more I hear her supporters claiming they want to be coddled into voting for Obama, I'm leaning more and more towards NOT contributing anything. I have to really think hard about this one.
