The Paris Hilton comparisons

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/07/30/art.paris.gi.jpg caption="Obama once compared himself to Paris Hilton."](CNN) - John McCain is facing criticism from many Democrats for likening Barack Obama to Paris Hilton, but the Illinois senator made the same comparison himself at a dinner in 2004.

"Andy Warhol said we all get our 15 minutes of fame," then Senator-elect Obama said at a Gridiron dinner in December, 2004. "I've already had an hour and a half. I mean, I'm so overexposed, I'm making Paris Hilton look like a recluse."

That attempt at self deprecating humor was delivered little more than a month after he was elected to the US senate, and just weeks before he was sworn in.

The same comparison was also made in September 2006, when speculation swirled about whether the still-very coy Obama would mount a presidential bid.

Upon speaking at Tom Harkin’s annual Iowa steak fry - a must-attend event for any presidential hopeful - CNN asked Obama about the Paris Hilton comparisons.

“Yeah, exactly,” Obama started to reply before Harkin jumped in and said, “Remember that movie with Robert Redford that was called 'The Natural, about a baseball player? This is the natural of politics.”

How in the world did these two misfits,Obama and McCain ever get nominated by their respective parties? This is said out of sarcastic humour!!!!!!!! Since I can remember and I can remember a lot because I am older than McCain. I have never heard such a mud slinging trivia contest in my life. I think CNN should print a book called the stupidest
things ever said in a political campaign.
Please Sen. Obama, ignore McCain altogether. His campaign will destroy him, just as Hillary's campaign destroyed her

Obama: “I’ve got one or two things to say about change . . . like the change we must change . . . to the change we hold dear. . . I really like change . . . Have I made myself clear?”

    Ditherings!

Yeah - the Paris Hilton comparison is perfect. A cute cult "babe" you may want to have a drink with - but would you REALLY want to take her home to meet your mother?

The only one who should be compared to Paris Hilton is Cindy McCain who is a heiress to a fortune, fed from a silver spoon all of her life, blonde, and absolutely stupid and worthless.

The only thing she is missing is a sex tape... which unlike the Paris Hilton sex tape, I would not like to see it (or download for free).

    John McCain = Bush
    Cindy McCain = Paris Hilton

Oh my, McCain and his staff have shown their hand – McCain is allowing everyone to see the "GREEN MONSTER" oozing out of each of his pores and the odor is beginning to be unbearable.
    Please McCain get a life.

Why is a 72-year old man who ducked a question on viagra so obsessed with an oversexed Paris Hilton to the point of putting images of her in his campaign ad?

Why should the media be involved in this issue anymore? They are the reason that these so called headlines are even being discussed as real news. It seems that the mud slinging of the Democratic Primary was good for ratings and now they are trying to recreate this with the General Election. All this seems to accomplish is to make supporters of both candidates realize that there is no changing politics.

What comparison? You've had enough fun trying to link him to Osama and Saddam by his *name*, now you want to take potshots at the media coverage he's receiving? Lemme ask you all this: Where were these "complaints" while it was "Reverend Wright this, terrorist fist bump that. Is he a Muslim? His wife, a Black Panther?" so on and horribly on.

But you know what they didn't expect? They didn't expect him to make it out the other end in one piece. Now they're scared, now they're mad. Now that the media is grasping on his positive side, you've gotta make a stink because it isn't a firehose of slander towards him. Ol' "Expelled" Stein basically said "Only RoveMan can save us!".

    Hilarious. Absolutely gut-busting hilarious.
