Obama campaign launches 'Low Road Express' Web site

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/07/31/art.lowroadsite0731.bo.jpg caption="The Obama campaign launched a new Web site Thursday."]
(CNN) – A day after the Obama campaign released an advertisement entitled “Low Road,” the presumptive Democratic nominee’s camp is following up with the Web site “Low Road Express.”

The new site collects media coverage – editorials, fact check articles, and video clips - about the strategies and tactics of Sen. John McCain’s campaign in recent weeks.

The Republican National Committee recently launched two Web sites focused on Obama. On Wednesday, the RNC rolled out “Audacity Watch,” a Web site that collects together video clips of media coverage about Obama and an RSS feed of information from GOP.com. Earlier this week, the RNC also launched “BarackBook,” a site that parodies Facebook, a popular social networking Web site where Obama has amassed more than a million supporters.

The Obama and McCain campaigns have traded fire this week as McCain released an ad entitled “Celeb” that likened Obama’s public notoriety with that of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. The Obama campaign quickly responded with the “Low Road” advertisement.

UPDATE: McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds issued the following statement about the Obama campaign's "Low Road Express" Web site: “Barack Obama’s campaign created his global celebrity status - we are celebrating it and informing voters of his inexperience. If there’s a low road in this campaign, Obama’s campaign paved it when they launched the first negative attack ad in this election.”

I thought there was no such thing as an attack ad in this election. I thought they were called "Contrast Ads" now.

McCain jokes about his age, and everyone is fine with it, since everyone gets old. It can be funny.

Obama can't joke about his race, since not everyone can be black. It is too serious an issue for some that it can not be funny.

McCain wants offshore drilling to increase American Oil supply. How about instead, we make it so the multi-national oil companies can not sell American Drilled Oil overseas. That would quadruple the supply of American Based Oil right here. Right now. It would force the Oil Companies to increase their refining capacity and would flood the market here with gasoline and diesel.

The Oil Companies have found out that the American people will pay over $4 a gallon for gas. We will never see gas under $3 ever again. Regardless of how much Oil we drill or gas we have.

The American media has long hidden from the public the astonishing fact that as a long term US Senator, John McCain has only a rudimentary understanding of both domestic and national security issues. His petulant, spoiled child disposition makes him un- presidential. He is a reckless individual. A vote for him is a reckless, irresponsible vote. This concerted racist campaign he has now decided to run demonstrates he has no decency. In the last week, he has made it perfectly clear that his campaign is based on the rebirth of Jim Crow era politics. The incessant comments that Senator Obama is presumptuous, arrogant and/or cocky are all code words for he is an uppity Negro who can’t be trusted to know his place. Along with the constant red security alerts, which the Bush administration will start up within the next month, it wouldn’t be surprising for McCain-Bush to propose a national poll tax before the November election. America is struggling after 16 years of Clinton and Bush. McCain would be the final nail in America’s coffin.

John McCain and his campaign are truly "jealous" of the reality that Barack Obama has won the hearts of not only the American people but thousands and thousands of people all over the world! The last two days of John McCain and his campaign have only shown the American people and others throughout the world what a terrible President John McCain would make. We have experienced (8) years of George Bush and Karl Rove politics!! The American people deserve a REAL LEADER FOR PRESIDENT. John McCain is merely a "follower", who speaks from both sides of his mouth like Bush and Rove!! Barack Obama WILL BE the next President of the United States! John McCain managed to dig himself into a DEEP HOLE yesterday and today, and that hole will only get deeper as time goes by! His "respectable campaign that won't bash his opponent" philosophy somehow went completely down the drain! And now he is "proud" of his campaign????????????????????????

Talk about the low road, how about Obama playing the race card again. Just like he did so many times in the primary.

And what about charges against Sen. Ted Stevens for unreported gifts. Why isn't Obama being prosecuted on the same charges after his underhanded real estate dealings with Rezko and the fact that Rezko personally paid for the fence around the Obama mansion? Why is Obama above the law and political scrutiny? Is the press afraid that Obama will play the race card on them?

PUMA — this isn't American Idol — vote McCain

How come it's okay for the McCain campaign to be racist, but wrong for Obama to call them on it? Racism that pretends it isn't is the most insidious kind.

This who went first nonsense is... precisely that, nonsense. John McCain promised to be a new type of politician, and promised to run a campaign with no negativity, or negative campaigning. This is against his promise. He truly has taken the low road.

    Undecided now for Barack

Well c'mon, you've got to admit he's a celebrity and inexperienced; what on earth do you mean by "low road" ? These are FACTS! Oh well, I guess the Obamites had to come up with some kind of response...but facts are fact no matter how ya try to cover them up and cry foul.

It's amazing how technology is changing politics. I think all future campaigns will look at Obama's campaign as the model. He has a website to unite all this supporters, another website to track smears from the GOP, and another website to track John McCain's false attacks. It's really incredible.

Give me break It is the first negative ad by Obama but there has been nothing but negative ads from McCain. He hasn't done a single ad that does not put Barack down in some way.
I am glad that Obama took a little bite out of McShame finally! McCain's whole campaign is built on lies and slander. It is very sad because I used to have high regard for him. He is not half the man he was in 2000. Now he like all the other Republicans crawling out of the sewer. What happened to you John.

Obama only commented about everything republicans and other online racist freaks have been saying about him. From this, the McCain camp said Obama is playing the race card?!? If someone else says those same things about Obama, it ok, its just politics, but if Obama says it (in his own defense), then he's playing the race card!! Give me a dang break!!! McCain has nothing but bogus excuses not to vote for Obama, he has no solutions and no clue about the economy. Any vote for McCain is a vote for Bush and a racist vote against Obama. McCain has no true policy for change, he approves Offshore drilling which will only benefit oil companies, Bush and Cheney, not americans and he wants to continue a useless war that is costing the US trillions of dollars!!!! What sense does that make? Who do you think will be doing the drilling? Making millions while we're still paying outrageous prices at the tank, OIL COMPANIES dummies!!! BTW, big oil donated $1.1 MILLIONS to McCain's campain, that's where his loyalties lie.

    Obama is the ONLY answer.

I'm glad to hear there will be one website where people can go to find out about all the stories that McCain makes up.

Many of us are very surprised as we watch John mcCain dishonor himself. The John McCain we are seeing every day is not the John McCain that the media has been praising over the last 10 years.
What a disappointment to learn that the man is insecure, nasty and petty, who behaves much like a spoiled child.

These are very dangerous things to have as a leader of this country and I don't believe he has any business at all even running for the office of president.

If you want the low down on obama go to sean hannity.com and purchase the new book out called "Obama Nation." It is an eye opener and one that will scare the hell out of you if you read it.

Apparently obama has no regard for our values. He is risky. Be careful of this self proclaimed messiah.

I welcome the truth from the McCain camp. It's dead on and accurate. Obama and his thugs started the race baiting in the primaries and tried to hang it on Bill and Hill.

Obama says woe is me, for the millionth time.

McCain has been one of the nicest, Candidates In this election. Obama knows this.

Obama has used his own race card on Himself. Then try to pawn if off as someone else doing it.

Obama Attacks and Smear Campaigns have always been evil and ugly. Getting others to do his dirty work and then playing innocent.

    Grow up Mr Obama

Your the one who lies, cheats and would say anything to attack someone. Your the one who runs a dirty evil Campaign, then tries to accuse everyone else. Your the one Attacks, Blames and blows smoke screens.

Your are the one who throws around a race card when it suits you. Your the one who uses and abuses and plays the minds of the American people. Your the man who throws propaganda to the media.

Your the one who has been marketed by your marketing and PR team to be a Super Star and the messiah.

You are the evil of evil, The smooth talking con Artist, and mind manipulating one.

You Are the one who is playing the weak and Pathetic one crying, look mom they are picking one me.

You are the one using and running on Your blackness to win pity and votes.

You are the one who has no background, no base to stand on, You are nothing but a speech and a hope and a prayer.

Your are the one who has done nothing for this country or the American people, besides throw propaganda at them.

Your are the one who thinks more of Himself, His Image and his world rating, then you do of the best interest of the country or the American People.

You are the One who has condemned your boss, and the Government of this Great country. You have no honor, you have no loyalty, You Proved in Germany, you have no Patriotism.

Your Goal is for yourself and your Black Liberation Religion.

I'm adding my comment here because "comments were closed" where I wanted to add it, probably because they were anti-Obama, and we all KNOW where CNN headquarters are:

Whine, whine, cry, cry is all Bam Bam does

Let's see him MAN UP for a "change" – let's see the crybaby empty suit actually debate or attend a side-by-side town hall meeting

Let's see him stop playing the race card

Let's see him ACTUALLY explain WHAT his tired boring "Hope, Change, Unity" speech (I am SO SICK of his speeches! Thank GOD for the mute button!) that the MSM (both male and female) creams over actually MEANS

He can; however, play the race card, which is hilarious, really, considering his formerly beloved uncle Reverend who is now under the bus alongside "dapping" a.k.a. "fist-bumping" racist Michelle

LOL! Are the African-Americans EVEN taking into consideration that if their Messiah DOES manage to achieve the impossible AND attain the Presidency that the obsolete cries of "RACISM" will no longer matter?

Poor "disadvantaged despite Affirmative Action" Blacks will no longer be able to scream "RACISM" anymore, and Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will be out of work – poor babies.....

What a shame – OJ and Michael Jackson might actually end up in jail where they belong, and maybe Al Sharpton will have to apologize to the Duke University students

ROFLMAO – Our government has APOLOGIZED to African-Americans.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE is the APOLOGY to women!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE is the APOLOGY to gay people!!!!!!!!!!!

..Thank goodness that the empty, um, suit, um, uh, stuttering CLOWN Obama will HAVE to, um, uh, attend at least three, um, debates – that's the LAW, but I'm not holding my breath – he might be too busy playing basketball that day.......and, of course, the MSM and the DNC will say that it's FINE that he's breaking every rule because He is God!

WHO CARES ABOUT VOTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The DNC HAS CAUCUSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE DNC RULES (AND HAS RULES)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What a fabulous website!!!!

My only hope is that people see right through this nasty turn that the McCain camp has taken. I think they realize that McCain has no real solutions, and certainly none that majority of Americans are buying into, so now it's on to plan B....Distract, Distract, Distract. Maybe if all we do is focus on Obama listen to nothing but negative coming from the McCain campaign, maybe just maybe we'll miss the fact that McCain is nothing but an empty shell...I honestly cannot understand how this race is even remotely close; I truly cannot understand anyone willing to vote for this man...

Go Obama!! This truly is our time to take back this country and leave it better for our children! There truly is a "fierce urgency of now", we cannot wait 4 or 8 more years...
