Obama says McCain ads show he has no new ideas

Sen. Barack Obama says Sen. John McCain offers a continuation of failed policies.

Sen. Barack Obama says Sen. John McCain offers a continuation of failed policies.

(CNN) - Barack Obama is charging that rival John McCain doesn't have any new ideas and that's why the Arizona senator's campaign is focusing its energy on anti-Obama ads.

"You haven't heard a positive thing out of that campaign in a month. All they do is try to run me down," Obama said while campaigning Wednesday in Union, Missouri.

The accusation came the same day that the Obama campaign released an ad comparing McCain to President Bush, and the McCain campaign released one likening Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.

"Since they don't have any new ideas, the only strategy they've got in this election is to try to scare you about me," Obama said.

Obama said McCain and Republicans are trying to paint him as a candidate who is "too risky."

"Basically what they're saying to you is, 'We know we didn't do a good job, but he's too risky.' Well let me tell you something. When we are in such dire straits economically, when our foreign policy has gotten so messed up, what's the bigger risk: choosing change, or choosing to do the same things that got us into this mess in the first place?"

As McCain campaigned on Wednesday, he stressed his independence from Bush and highlighted times he's spoken against the administration.

"My independence hasn't always made me friends in Washington. I was not elected Ms. Congeniality in the United States Senate," he said at a town hall in Aurora, Colorado.

McCain praised Obama for his speaking abilities and success, but said "my concern with Sen. Obama is - that on issues big and small - what he says and what he does are often two different things."

McCain said Obama's solution is to raise taxes and promised that he would not do the same.

I think it's important for us to understand the barage of filth and lies that the GOP are beginning to throw at Barack. We can withstand it because Barack has a new direction for this country. We want to honor our Constitution, imagine that, and take our country back to a higher place in the world.

We also want to be able to send our kids to school, and make a decent living. We can do it.

Say it brother! The old dude has nothing coming out of his mouth but fear mongering. The good part, republicans book of fear is not going to work this time around. Look at the latest story of republican corruption from Stevens...mcsurge has avoided mentioning this throughout. Keep tying mcsurge to bush, bad economy, gas prices, corruption then let mcsurge crowd respond.

    OBAMA – THE ULTIMATE POSUER

Anyone else notice Mr. Obama seems to move from one pose to another, probably for the sake of the cameras? For that reason alone I seriously have to question his ability to lead and intentions, although I can think of about a dozen other reasons not to vote for him. Am I the only rational & free-thinking black man left in America?

John McCain is a friend of George W. Bush and Karl Rove? Karl Rove and George W. Bush did push polling in 2000 elections about McCains black daugther.

Obama is continuing to counter McCain's charges against him with ridicule. Not only that.....he is doing it in a way that makes it seem his audience is siding with him. In my opinion he is using the audience in a way that is unethical. The people are there to listen, not to agee with.

One good thing came out of Hillary's campaign being shut down. It has given us more time to see Obama's true personality, to observe the pompousness, the arrogance. His domestic glitter is wearing off and he knows it, we know it.

McCain has no new ideas and the sad part is that many Americans don't either. It seems that many still have not had enough of the Bush years and want to continue the trend by voting McCain. It is a sad day in America. Very sad!

Hey wait a minute! What about Obama idea of getting us out of energy crisis by inflating our tires more. That's a great new idea which I think Obama should file a patent for.

Okay, who would you want to advise you on economics, Warren Buffet, a man who's made millions and gives millions of dollars towards needy causes? Or, Phil Gramm, a man who said "Americans are a bunch of whiners", when he had a hand in the Enron scandal that caused higher gas prices? You choose.

McSurge is running a horrible campaign and the fact that he has at least one supporter amazes me. I don't want more of the same, I want a positive change and that translates into a vote for OBAMA!

  18. A 72 old president is scary

There you go Obama! I have no idea what Mccain plans to do. He has flip-flopped on all most every issue. I mean from Bush tax cuts for the wealthy to his own immigration bill , to offshore drilling. If drilling offshore was such a great idea why did Goerge H.W. Bush vote to ban it when he was in office and where was John McCain to vote to lift it the past decade or so since he's been in the Senate. Why did Johm n McCain oppose offshore drilling until a month ago. Mcpander makes his positions according to what polls well. He has no message. i can't wait until the debates. Hopefully, they will be moderated by someone who is not going to treat McCain with kid gloves.

Obama is right....McShame has run out of options that's why he is attacking Obama's character. McShame is playing the race card not Obama.

McShame has nothing to go on except for the race card an he is going to play it hard.

America....we do not need a man like McCain for POTUS. He'll cross us all. He'll take our sons and daughters away from us with the so called "100 years of war".

There you go again lying mccain! You just said the other night on larry king you may raise taxes on payroll and social security. Obama is only raising taxes on the wealthy, whose tax cuts you want to lower. Since I don't make over 250,000 dollars I think I will go with Obama's plan. AND STOP LYING MCCAIN!

Let's see you have the courage to post this one CNN...

Based upon the lastest release from their camp there is no doubt that McLame is playing the "race card" not Obama.
The repug-neocaons are really getting desperate when the fear-smear tactics of the McLame camp resorts to playing the "reverse discrimination" card in response to Obama's push-back on their subtle hate spewing campaign.
Maybe McLame and his"klan" should be wearing a confederate flag lapel pin so we all can see his "straight talking" true colors...
