(CNN) - Days after a television spot from John McCain’s campaign suggested Barack Obama did not hold enough respect for members of the military, the presumptive Democratic nominee’s campaign announced Monday that Michelle Obama will host a roundtable discussion with military spouses highlighting the launch of a military families advisory group.

Michelle Obama will meet with military families in Norfolk, Virginia Wednesday, an event designed to spotlight "Blue Star Families for Obama," which the campaign describes as "a national military families council" that will provide policy input and coordinate with the campaign on events featuring military families.

Michelle Obama held similar discussions with military spouses last May in Kentucky and North Carolina. Last month, the McCain campaign released an ad that suggested the Illinois senator had skipped a visit to wounded service members on his overseas trip because he could not bring members of the media with him. Obama’s campaign has denied the account.

IF YOU VOTE AGAINST VETERAN BENEFITS AND IMPROVING THE GI BILL YOU ARE AGAINST VETERANS AND THE MILITARY.

MCCAIN HAS AN ABYSMAL VOTING RECORD WHEN IT COMES TO VETS.

THE ONLY THINGS VETS CAN COUNT ON FROM JOHN MCCAIN IS LIP SERVICE AND A HANDSHAKE WITH A LOT OF FLAGS AROUND.

IF YOU'RE A VET OR THE FAMILY OF A VET, STOP LISTENING TO MCCAIN'S WORDS AND ACTUALLY LOOK AT HIS VOTES.

ALL OF THE MAJOR VETERAN GROUPS GIVE OBAMA HIGHER RATINGS WHEN IT COMES TO SUPPORTING VETERAN ISSUES.

    thanks to AL for this:

All Clinton was doing was pointing out that South Carolina tended to vote for black candidates. If he would have pointed out that NY tended to vote for Democrats it would have been the same thing. You can't tell me that in private conversation that the BO campaign didn't have the same conversation before this election. It only became an issue when the BO campaign and his supporters in the media made it one.

    Happy B-Day BO!!!
Next one will be at the White House!

    This quote says it best:

"On the one hand we have Obama offering a $1000 citizen energy rebate, a windfall profits tax on rich oil companies, 5 million green jobs and independence from Middle East oil dependency in 10 years, meeting with our troops families. On the other hand, we have McCain offering a tire gauge, peeks at Britney and Paris, and a cameo by John's old buddy, Moses. This is going to be a very difficult decision"

Anyone that says McCain hasn't been doing anything good or bad is full of it.

    "Obama is Proactive"

Come off it! McCain has a 20 year record that speaks for itself. Not only that but he's worked with greats like Feingold and Kennedy. Know your stuff before you try and criticize others.

This is the person we should be scared of, not Obama. Michelle has an agenda of her own and I feel like it is going to be far worse than Obama's.

Doesn't matter to me one way or another – I'm voting for McCain unless Obama asks Hillary to be the VP.

Good move from Michelle and barack Obama. Always trying to bring solution on the table. McCain spend his time criticizing Obama and running negative campaign. McCain it is time for you to retired and sick alzeimer doctor. We are hungry for change in this campaign and you do not represent change.

    Headline should read...

Now that McCain has highlighted Obama's military short comings, Michelle will be lauching an attempt at appeasing those few military families that actually do support democrats.

  16. obama is unfit to be president of this country

Well, I hope these families realize that mrs.bam-bam hates them and is only doing this because she wants her husband to have the power of the presidency so they can carry out their socialist agenda against America. If her husband wasn't running for president she wouldn't give these families the time of day because she thinks she's better than them. Racist and a liar.

Obama's energy policy – "Inflate your tires!"

What's his policy for military personnel? "Duck?"

Oh, that's right, it's "run away"

No wonder he wants us to speak French.

Well, there is one nice way to encourage folks to vote for John McCain – run a picture of Mrs. Obama next to the article.

Butter wouldn't melt in her mouth.

What a farce. When Obama redid his plane he remove the American flag from the tail and replaced it with a symbol of himself. He wouldn't visit with the wounded soilders in Germany and blame it on the Pentagon. Now, Michelle, who just recently is proud to be an American is going to pretend to care about military spouses. It is a joke!

Rookie decision again, did he choose military wife, a general, a captian, a senator with military background no......, a govonor from a state with a large military population no.....

And what qualifies Mrs Obama, administrator for a hospitials,to do this job? Her military background, maybe her years as a military wife, oh that 's right Mr Obama never served.... maybe her sons will go to War, no we are not drafting women yet....

Most of my military friends and their families are voting for John McCain someone who prison of war experence know not smpathy but
empathy for military men and women

C'mon people, BO is allowing MO a wiff of air after being placed in solitary confinement. But now she is going to meet with troop wives ? As I recall we've been suffering casualties for a few years while MO was ashamed of what we stood for, now she's had a "military reawakening ?" I hope the wives are just as digusted as I am with BO, MO and the BS.
