Cindy McCain suffers injury on the campaign trail

Watch the McCains discuss the injury at a press conference Wednesday.

(CNN) - Cindy McCain visited a Michigan hospital after a campaign event Wednesday, complaining of pain in her hand.

"At some point during the rope line an enthusiastic supporter shook Mrs. McCain’s hand and exacerbated an existing carpal tunnel condition,” said spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker. “Out of an abundance of caution, she decided to leave the event and visit the local hospital for x-rays where she was treated for a minor sprain."

UPDATE: The campaign reports that Cindy McCain will return to active campaigning on Thursday.

Cindy McCain, who has a brace on her right arm, told reporters she was "fine." Her husband said Wednesday afternoon that someone shook her hand "too vigorously."

Oh come ON CNN...this is NEWS? A hand sprain? For which she was treated and released??? And "Breaking News" at that? Must be an AWFULLY slow news day. How about a "Breaking News" of Olympics if nothing better is going on....or stop calling yourselves a news channel!!! (Usually, I'm a fan-but this one was outrageous!)

I will put politics and aside and wish her well. Not only do you have to watch out for crazed gunment but also for exuberant supporters who could bang up your wrist. Adopt the Japanese style next time and just fold your arms and bow!

how nice! The Senator's wife can get medical treatment for: shaking too many hands....
47 million people in this country are without healthcare. For them, getting needed medical treatment becomes a financial burden...

Did they give her pain pills?

Honestly, I hope you feel better Cindy-Lou, but I don't like you nor the way you steal peoples husbands. Nor do I like your husband who has abandoned his family and our troops and shipped our jobs over seas.

A speedy recovery to you is wished.
