(CNN) - The two senators widely believed to be at the top of Barack Obama's shortlist for VP have been given prime-time speaking slots at the Democratic convention Wednesday night - the very same night the vice presidential candidate is slated to speak.
According to the Democratic National Convention Committee, both Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh and Delaware Sen. Joe Biden will deliver speeches on national security during the marquee night - the same evening former President Bill Clinton is also scheduled to speak.
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Colorado Sen. Ken Salazar will also speak Wednesday evening, according to the convention committee.
But Biden and Bayh's appearance especially is sure to heighten speculation one of the two senators will ultimately be named Obama's running mate. The announcement also comes the same day Biden hit the campaign trail for the Illinois senator, accepting an endorsement on his behalf from the International Association of Firefighters in Las Vegas.
What John Mcain did to his First wife is a hundred times worse than what John edwards did to his. Yet it is not a storey , I wonder why ?
Both would be good choices if Hillary did not get 18 million votes. Obama's first test of can he bring two sides together will be his VP pick. He can pick Hillary and bring the party together or he can pick another guy in a suit and tear the party apart. His choice. It will be interesting to see what he does.
I've long liked Clark (supported him in '04) and Bayh brings alot to the table. But the only reason I supported Hillary was because Biden was forced to drop out due to the the public's inability to focus on anything that requires greater concentration than a 15 second sound bite. Face it folks...Biden was/is the most qualified for the top position in either party...Respected, long-time Senator; Foreign Relations; Judiciary...and simply brilliant. Select Biden and Obama will overcome the unease of those who might be less than enthused by his candidacy...and will show that he is not just comfortable, but confident, with/in his own self in the top slot.
All you Hillary supporters (AKA: PUMA, fake republicans posing as dems) you need therapy. How much more pathetic could you people be? She runs a muddy campaign and loses, yet you people feel she's been wrong. By whom? Now you really see how nice this Obama guy is. anyone else would have kicked both Bill and Hillary to the curve by now given their bizzare behaviour. Talking about being entitled !!!
It doesn't matters in the end, Obama will be the next president wether you PUMA/Fake republicans vote for him or not.
PUMA/Fake republicans posing as Dems: go ahead vote for McCain and shut the hell up. If you guys are so upset, why don't you move to the republican party ? You very well fit that profile of idiocy and church mentality like.
Obama/Biden is the best choice for this country wether you like it or not. And if you don't, just don't vote for him. Thank God people like you have become the minority given what you did 4 years ago for a moronic BUSH victory. You just don't get it. How stupid can you be trying to vote for a Bush clone?
Biden or Bayh – they are both credible candidates.
In the end, Obama may be forced to take Hillary if the schism her supporters are causing is detrimental or deemed libelous to a clear win.
I notice on the GOP side there are no Black or female choices for VP – from the party of family values, eh?!
God let it be ANYONE but the evil clintons
why are those two even around??
are they so entitled that they will go and talk and have her name there,
BECAREFUL the CLINTONS are EVIL, PURE EVIL
SHE has not given up, and is still trying to get someone to do somethign to Obama
the HILL BILLYs are EVIL
Please be very careful, she might have some tricks on that night or the following or even November and or January when Obama takes over
MCCLINTON AND MCSAME ONE AND THE SAME
I think it will be John Kerry for VP or Hillary for VP.
Will not make a difference to me. I was only voting pulling the lever for democrats if Hillary had gotten the nomination (for pres. and not vp). I'll be voting for McCain this November.
Either of the two would be fine with me although I like Kaine too. Up until Hillary's unfortunate and horrifying announcement today, I really thought she might be on the ticket. But I guess this latest turn of events sort of rules that idea out.
I hope they post the times of the Biden and Bayh speeches because I love them both!!
No matter who, Democrats lost it again by nominating Obama.
To Sue, Michigan- I agree, why are 18 million Obama voters more important than 18 million Clinton voters. The DNC created the win for Obama. The average voter knows nothing of the way that the DNC comes up with rules. All they know is that they voted for someone, in the cases of Florida and Michigan, that someone was Clinton. This election was close,
CLOSE! not a landslide! Being rude and calling Clinton supporters "poor sports" does nothing to help with party unity. This is not a football game where you win each game and then go on to beat one team in the finals. If it were a football championship playoff, the Obama team would be trying to finish the season with almost half the players missing. Obama can't win against Republicans without the other half of the party. That half is the Clinton supporters. Unite the party and come away from the convention with a winning ticket-
Obama/Clinton or Clinton/Obama
Anything else is sour grapes. Obama if you are reading this blog, do the right thing, put Clinton on the ticket as VP.
