(CNN) - The two senators widely believed to be at the top of Barack Obama's shortlist for VP have been given prime-time speaking slots at the Democratic convention Wednesday night - the very same night the vice presidential candidate is slated to speak.
According to the Democratic National Convention Committee, both Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh and Delaware Sen. Joe Biden will deliver speeches on national security during the marquee night - the same evening former President Bill Clinton is also scheduled to speak.
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Colorado Sen. Ken Salazar will also speak Wednesday evening, according to the convention committee.
But Biden and Bayh's appearance especially is sure to heighten speculation one of the two senators will ultimately be named Obama's running mate. The announcement also comes the same day Biden hit the campaign trail for the Illinois senator, accepting an endorsement on his behalf from the International Association of Firefighters in Las Vegas.
PLease America–choose Mad Jose Biden! He is wise, tough, and exactly what you need. Go on, you know that it makes sense
TO ALL YOU OBAMA HATERS, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT YOU SAY, WHAT YOU THINK. SEN. OBAMA WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. . HE DOES NOT NEED GOD, GOD IS ALREADY ON HIS SIDE.
i'll let the media create their buzz
I get the feeling that these people who are all fired up about Hillary getting her name in nomination are not old enough to have seen many conventions. There's about as much chance of the ritual placing her name in changing anything as of Ron Paul running away with the election. I doubt if I'll even bother watching until either Biden or Obama are scheduled to speak.
No Hillary. No Vote.
I hope its Biden
Tim Kaine is his VP
I guess we shouldn't be surprised....the old' Clinton's never say die' What I would like to see is Hillary paying back the money Obama gave her to help with her debts created during the primaries. We gave money to Obama ..and not sorry..., but we want to see our money go to Obama's canidancy not to Hillary having a video made by expensive movie producers. How are you going to pay for that, Hillary???
If Hillary's name is on the ballot, that's where my vote will go.
Toni Zinni will be Obama,s V.P. choice!
I agree I hope it's Biden!!!
Good night to watch re-runs of Mash.
Biden all the way!
I say BIDEN he will put the SMACK down on ROMNEY and MCCAIN we have to have a fighter for the 2 spot and BIDEN will be a great COUNTER for the SMEAR TALK EXPRESS !!!!!!!
Biden is a bitter man...try another!
Biden is my first choice for VP, and Bayh is my second....this is GREAT news.
Hillary will be nominating Obama at the convention do any of her staunch supporters not get this? Can one of you respond and help me understand your thinking?
OBAMA 08/12 YES WE CAN & YES WE WILL!!!
WILL ONLY VOTE FOR HILLARY!!!
I hope there is an upset at the convention and Hillary takes the nomination that was righfully hers.
This is a fantastic choice. Joe Biden is a longtimes Washington insider however, his stance on the National Security against the Bush Cheney administration stands high. When Bush and Cheney almost sell the U.S. Ports to the Arab along with the complicity of their fellow Republicans, he was Joe Biden that blast them and get the attention of the rest of the Nation. He will be an extraordinary choice and the McCain clowns and their negative attacks won't have no legs to stand.
CW says that it will not be anyone who has been publicly slated to speak at the convention.
It may be best to choose the older of the two Senators since undeclared voters make such an issue about Obama's inexperience. What will be next; they do not like the way he dresses?
Who cares, Barack is not qualified
BIDEN PLEASE!!!!
OBAMA / BIDEN 2008!
Biden is cool
Hillary who?
