Oprah to head to Denver for Obama nomination

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Oprah hit the trail for Obama during the primary season."] (CNN) - Oprah Winfrey will be on hand when Barack Obama accepts the Democratic nomination in Denver – but the talk show host, who was a key presence at rallies for the Illinois senator during the primary season, won’t take the stage, a representative from her production company told CNN Wednesday.

The spokeswoman also denied rumors Winfrey was planning to spend thousands renting a home in Denver during the convention.

In June, shortly after Obama effectively clinched the Democratic nomination, Winfrey – who appeared with him in several key early-voting states, including Iowa, New Hampshire and California – said she was "euphoric” over his victory.

“I've been doing the happy dance all day,” she said in a statement then. “I'm so proud of Barack and Michelle and what this means for all of us, the new possibilities for our country.”

She added that she’d be happy to hit the trail again on his behalf: “And if he wants me to, I'm ready to go door to door."

this change. This change will be and administration starting at the
white house and all government. We must have ours states
and local cities as well because the president can only do so
much. These issues with jobs and income start with them
because you have jobs that lay-off to get under budget and
hard working peoples loose their homes, cars, credit go bad,
childrens start falling behind in school. These are the real problem
in America, which have not really address nationally.Orpah, talk
about this issue on your show and Obama you speak of this on
    your campaign trail.

TO justjoe: Read the news and educate your self. At first they chose a venue which was capable to hold 12,000 people. But Obama requested larger venue of 75,000. Those tickets sold within 24 hours. Your criticism proof how jealous and ignorant you are!

Oprah won't make any difference in the final analysis of the American People.
The final "in booth" decisions for 70% of Americans will be:
Who can we trust to work on USA being American ! Who puts America first in America. Who has the experience. Who will not put our border patrol in jail for doing their jobs while excusing repetitive drug dealers (that is a sick case with Campeon and Ramos, etc).
We'll vote for McCain, however hold our nose in the process.
Has nothing to do w/color of skin, etc. Obama is 1/2 white and that should be mentioned moreso.

It is amazing to me how gullible the media and a lot of us are. The Republican Party tried to make the word "liberal" dirty in the 80’s, now they want people to believe that the word "celebrity" is bad. If Bush was so accepted and welcome by other countries like Obama, then the Iraq war would have different outcome. Many more countries would have worked with us.

Republicans have put this country to its lowest point since WWII; McOld cannot talk about any substance. The republicans have six years of total control in all the three branches of the government. What have they done with all that power? They gave us the war in Iraq that cost $10 billions per month, they turn the surplus from the Clinton administration to the largest deficit in history, our country trade deficits is at its highest ever, the dollar has become the Peso of the world. Here at home the credit problem is making a lot of people suffer. The unemployment is at it highest level in 20 years. McSenile with all his Adam like experience cannot address any of those problems after 26 years in Washington, all he can come out with is some childish attack ads, this is very sad for our country.

Turns out I will be in Denver at the same time but CNN hasn't written an article about me yet. I mean, now it makes news just because Oprah will be in Denver? Something is seriously wrong at CNN, they obviously have an agenda if they consider this worthy of taking up space. Are they going to have a political ticker for every celebrity that is going to be in Denver during the convention? Is McCain paying them to do this?

A lot of people moan and fuss about "hollywood liberal" this and "hollywood liberal" that, but when it comes down to it, they still watch the movies and the TV shows. The nation's center for moviemaking and tv shows isn't in Georgia or Alabama for a reason.

If you're going to moan about Hollywood, don't do it while consuming what they produce for your entertainment.
