Oprah to head to Denver for Obama nomination

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Oprah hit the trail for Obama during the primary season."] (CNN) - Oprah Winfrey will be on hand when Barack Obama accepts the Democratic nomination in Denver – but the talk show host, who was a key presence at rallies for the Illinois senator during the primary season, won’t take the stage, a representative from her production company told CNN Wednesday.

The spokeswoman also denied rumors Winfrey was planning to spend thousands renting a home in Denver during the convention.

In June, shortly after Obama effectively clinched the Democratic nomination, Winfrey – who appeared with him in several key early-voting states, including Iowa, New Hampshire and California – said she was "euphoric” over his victory.

“I've been doing the happy dance all day,” she said in a statement then. “I'm so proud of Barack and Michelle and what this means for all of us, the new possibilities for our country.”

She added that she’d be happy to hit the trail again on his behalf: “And if he wants me to, I'm ready to go door to door."

"justjoe" Oprah has done more wonderful and patrotic deeds for America than you can even imagine in your wildest dream. People like you and your dear friend Mr Jerome Corsi (reliable sources have confirmed that his PhD thesis was Plagiarism, and he is a member of white suprimacy group. He has always his confederate flag pin on the lapel) are disgrace for USA . If you are that patrotic why aren't you in Iraq or Afgahnistan fighting? I bet you'll urinate on your pants on the first sound of a grenade!
The only thing you guys are capable of is smearing people who are willing to contribute positively to the world. Now is 21st century and no longer darkages, wake-up from you nightmare fantasy! Go to Georgia and fight against communist, you and your fellow paper Tigers!

This is a shock, after all, she is African-American. Don't they all support Barack because he's half Black on the inside and Full black on the out? Not to mention the perks she'll get back if he wins, after all he's also from Chicago....

“I'm so proud of Barack and Michelle and what this means for all of us, the new possibilities for our country.”

And who is "us"? the black folks and new possibilities for them? What about the soon to be minority white folks? We all know that any hardworking American, black or white, can go as far as they deserve in this great nation. I'm all for Condi Rice for President but NOT Obama!

To ustjoe and all the other idiots who believe that 200,000 Germans would show up for a free concert of a seond-string band, answer this question.

How is it that the stadium in Dever sold out after only 24 hours of available tickets for the Democratic Party convention (75,000 tickets)?

Germany's largest open air concert lasts for 4 days, with over 20 bands, and have around 50,000 visitors during that time. How do you explain 200,000 people in Berlin in ONE day?

Americans are tired of poeple like you. We want our government back; and you can't stop that!

it is amazing how people loved Oprah until she endorsed this candidate. If she spends money on a rented home during the convention, that is her business. She has worked very hard for her success. Senator Obama and Michell has worked very hard as well. I have experienced ridicule because I have worked very hard at my craft and have experienced success and favor because of it. People are jealous, they are blatant bigots on this issue. Why are you not concerned with the horrible past of Senator McCain and his drug-addict wife. If Senator Obama would have had that record he would have been laughed off the race. Yet you call him a celebrity. You call Oprah a has-been. She can be called anything she wants-she has the success record to prove who she is- the most successful business woman in this nation. I do not agree with some of her views, but she is an expert at her craft. I will see her at the convention.

So what CNN? Oprah is an American citizen and able to take part in the political process. No one is making a big deal of it except the media.

    John McCain... born in Panama...
Obama born is good old USA!

Fox News reported that John McCain had an affair while his first wife was recovering from an automobile accident; yet, they trashed Edwards for the same thing.
Obama is happily married with two wonderful daughters.

John McSame, knows only threats of military intervention as a means for settling problems. Obama speaks of peace negotiations.

John McSame said yesterday... "In the 21st Century, no country has the right to invade another country." He needs to be reminded that his poor judgement led to that very thing in Iraq.

So, who should I trust? I am ready for something new. I have had enough of this present mess and I neither see nor hear anything new in John McSame. This is not the same man I voted for in the 2000 Republican primary in NC. He has become an angry puppet.

What i love most about these posts, are that no matter what hate is spewed at her, (call her a has-been, whatever)... Oprah can buy and sell all you broke bastards with the signing of her name!

I love how all the Obama haters are so dumb all they can do is repeat nonsense spewed by John McCain. Like people calling him celebrity all the time now. that's right we have a chance for a president who is admired by people across the United States and the world. McCain comes out with lies and stupid campaign gimmicks and idiots just shovel it up. I'd like to start seeing some original attacks against Obama and not just character attacks. McCain is trying to pain Obama as an elitist out of touch which we all know isn't true.

Isn't it amazing that greed runs the United States. that's awesome!! (end sarcasm)
